3.1 Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy golden orange with a lasting fluffy off white head. Aroma is of citrus, light pine, caramel. Taste is of caramel, orange, citrus, pine, butterscotch. Light oily mouthfeel, soft to medium carbonation.
3.2 Pours an amber from a tap. Nondescript citrus and soap aroma, no soap in the mouth, nicely balanced between bitter and sweetness. Good beer.
(2280-050817)
2.8 341ml Flasche. Bernsteinfarben und klar mit mittelgroßer Schaumkrone. Leichte Malz- und Karamellnoten, dann hopfig. Ordentlicher Körper. Feinherb. Etwas trocken.
3.6 Poured it from a can on a campsite in Toronto at the open fire. I loved this one. Gaaood balance between the alcohol, bitters, tasts of pines, some fruit. Very drinkable.
3.3 Bottle. Clear golden color. Aroma: nectar (old beer), sweet, dried fruits and white raisins. Taste: sweet, malt, nectar, candied fruit, soft hop bitterness.
3.0 Pour out of 16 oz can, dark reddish pour with eggshell colored head, aroma brought notes of pine, grass, caramel, toffee, slight earth, touch of citrus. Taste was a mix of caramel, earth, spice, grass, pine into a bit of yeast, slight citrus, finishing malty, bitter. Too malty for my style.
3.2 Bottle at the old dears, from Callans, had presumed this was some new Irish brewer when I was filling up a box yesterday, 09/07/17. Golden copper pour with a decent off white head. Nose is caramel, straw, toasted bread, mellow citric rinds, orange peel. Taste comprises caramel malts, biscuit, orange peel, light pine, grassy bite. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with moderate grassy hop bitterness. IPA in the Old Skool mode, sippable but on the boring side.
4.0 Got this one as pre 150th anniversary at Cock & Lion Pub on Sparks. Wasn’t too sure what I was getting into, got a rich, full-bodied IPA with belgian smoothness, the kind I like.
3.1 Bottled. 15cl sample. The aroma has citrus, flowery tones, some caramel. Copper coloured beer with a thin, white head. The taste is light-moderate bitter, slightly malty sweet with some citrus and flowers.
3.6 This is Hop City Brewing’s HopBot IPA. A crystal clear amber colored beer with a white fluffy head. It’s brewed with 5 different hops; Citra, Centennial, Mosaic, Summit and Willamette. There’s a nice fruity aroma, lots of grapefruit and tropical fruits; pineapple, mango, papaya. There’s a bit of a malty note too but subtle. The taste is really sweet and juicy. Lots of that tropical fruit with a nice bitter grapefruity kick in the aftertaste. The Citra and Mosaic really shines through. There’s an underlying maltyness throughout as well. It’s a really smooth, medium bodied beer. Refreshing and decently bitter. Not bad at all!
3.1 Sparky foam. Good aroma of a little malt and hops. The taste is excellent with both pineapple, mango, a little sweet caramel malt and tropical fruits that are hard to define. A semi-dry woody aftertaste sets a fine balance in its fullness and it is an excellent IPA that is not so aggressive in the hoppy bitterness. The carbonation is very low, almost absent, and I could miss a little more carbon dioxide in this IPA. I think it would raise its level slightly.
4.0 355ml bottle at Mike’s, Xiamen. Pours clear amber with a white head. Aroma of citrus, pine and tropical fruit. Some malt taste. Bittersweet finish. Nice.
3.6 Bottle. Pours amber clear with medium white head. Aroma is spruce, resin, some caramel, sweet tropical fruits, mango, some citrus, pineapple. Taste is hoppy, resin, pine, wooden, bitter, fruit peel, light herbs, grass, light sweetness. Nice and hoppy beer!
2.4 This IPA poured a slightly cloudy colour with a rocky, off white head. Not bad lacing. Scents include bread, gravy and candy? First swig was a little thin but flavourful. Tastes of malt, dough and hops. Finish is medium bitter with malt goodness lingering.
3.3 Orange pour. Malty aromas with some pine. Taste has grapefruit and some more pine. Nice and balanced. Good IPA
2.8 Bottle from Maruhn, bottled in April 2016 if I read the label right. Pours amber. Nose is apricot, orangepeel, faint bubblegum and berries. The oldness shines through in the palate, not much fruityness left, some apricot, citrus, mostly bitterness. Even stings a bit in the back of the throat. Has seen better days.
3.4 Clear amber with medium off-white head. Aroma is malt, pine and mango. Taste is grapefruit, caramel and pineapple
3.1 Bottle from Lenita - Clear brownish color, white head. Taste is citrus, fruits, grainy, all very moderate. Medium bitter. Okay.
3.4 Pours clear honey amber with a tall foamy off-white lacing head. Nose of pine, and citrus hops translating to the flavour. Includes some deep herbal, and burnt grass notes. Body is medium/high. Lots of carbonation. Alcohol seemed well hidden... but it is very warming. Puckering acidity. But it’s got a good amount of fruity, well toasted malts. Berries, icing sugar, pie crust. Pine, antiseptic. It isn’t balanced at all. And sure, the hop selection is interesting... but it’s still pretty 2 dimensional. I keep forgetting how assertive this beer is. I rarely buy any. But, it’s ridiculously good for a Moosehead owned company. And, I think we can all be thankful that it has been left alone and not buggered up. It gets an extra point or two for that.
3.4 Golden color with small head. Hoppy aroma. Taste is bitter but not very strong. Nice IPA, but a simple one
3.7 Pours deep amber with a thick fluffy cream coloured head any German Marzen would be proud of. Aroma is citrus and toffee. Right away there are notes of bubblegum, followed by bready malt, caramel, and resinous hops. Once you get past that there are some lighter notes of blood oranges and tropical fruit. There is a strong grassy, spicy hop aftertaste. Good mouthfeel, high carbonation, maybe a little too much . All in all pretty tasty but a bit too much malt muddying the palate.
3.6 Couleur dor?e; mousse blanche; ar?mes et go?t malt?s, l?g?rement fruit?s et de r?sine; bi?re un poil douce avec finale bien am?re
3.1 473 ml can. (LCBO) Sault Ste Marie, ON. Slghtly cloudy golden color with a big foamy white head. Sweetish fruity hops, mild bitterness and malt in the aroma. Not fresh. The flavor is resiny hops, moderate bitterness and dryish malt. No freshness here.
3.7 Soild west coast style IPA and intro style, good aroma and flavour nothing to bitter.
3.8 Hazy amber color with low activity. Slightly frothy beige 2 finger head, lasting around 5 minutes, with moderate legs. Flavors of butter, pineapple, orange, lemon, faint clove and pine, herbal and floral hops. Pleasant fruity sugary feel with a dash of zesty bitter citrus. Slick and smooth medium body with the perfect amount of crispy carbonation. Medium to strong finish, lingers for a while, with citrus and a grassy hoppy feel. Overall very good quality craft. Delicious flavors, good balance, well intensified. Fresh but still bitter. No alcohol feel.
3.4 Bottle from Voldby. Pours amber with an off-white head. Aroma and taste is malt, sweet fruits, citrus notes, floral hops. Medium body. Soft carbonation. Nice bitter fruity finish.
3.2 A decent intro to crafty IPAs with some good looks and nithing overly bitter or bog
2.6 Aroma: weak citrus notes, resin, pine, garlic. Appearance: clear golden color and thin white head. Taste: high stalky herbal bitterness, garlic, rough, thin malty backbone, herbal, one-dimensional, dry. Palate: medium body and medium carbonation, bitter finish. Overall: One-dimensional IPA, stalky and herbal.
3.7 Pours clear copper with a small white head that laces the glass. Sweet fruit and orange citrus aroma. Taste is a great balance of sweet malts and citrus hops with a good bitter and fruit finish. Really enjoyed this beer.
