Hop Valley Alpha Centauri Binary IPA

Hop Valley Alpha Centauri Binary IPA

Big flavor, intense pine and citrus aroma. We keep the malt profile clean in this Imperial IPA to let the love lights shine on the fine Northwest hops.

4.2 Pretty tasty ipa, though the high IBUs give it a pretty dry finish. Nice beer.
3.4 0. 65 l bottle from Pivoteka . Big tasting #2. Hazy golden, small to medium white head. Fruity hops, orange and tangerine. Malty. Light bitterness. Very tasty fruity flavors. Medium body alcohol hidden, light bitter finish.
3.8 Stong enough to lift a car. This imperial IPA is bitter enough to give you a shit grin. Quality taste but cannot pound it. Drink cold and enjoy
4.0 From a 12 oz bottle into a Het Kappitel chalice. Pours gold with head and lace. Aroma of grains, pale malt, slight citrus. Significant carbonation and mouthfeel. Flavors of bitter hops, grains, pale malt, slight pine, yard grass, hay, minerals, grapefruit rind zest, slight white pepper. Overall big, bold, quite a mouthfeel of flavors with an underlying malt sweetness and complex but tasty hops.
3.9 Intense hop and sweetness. Building bitterness and sweetness as you drink neither fade which is impressive. Lasting head.
3.5 Bottle, 9%. Hazy amber with small off-white head. Aroma is malt, fruit, hops, caramel and a little peach. Flavour is malt, fruit, hops, caramel, pine, little peach, grapefruit, medium sweet and quite bitter.
3.6 Nice pine and citrus aroma and taste faded gold appearance. Nice taste and good but not great finish. Lingers but could be longer. Looking for some everyday reasonably priced IPA and this will be one. Not my special but a good one
4.4 This is an IPA that wants nothing more than to work out its kinky deviance on your palate like a vengeful dominatrix. I'm sorry if that makes uncomfortable. The hops just do things to me. This brew has all of the floral, piney, and citrusy lupulin you could want from Northwestern hops. It hits you with bitterness and a garlic potency. The alcohol is totally concealed. Punish me, Alpha Centauri. I've been a very bad boy.
3.4 Pours clear medium golden with a nice white head. Large bubbles race from the bottom of the glass in huge quantities. You can smell this beer as soon as you open the bottle. Aroma of hops, malts and flowers. A good smell, but this beer smells strong. Interestingly, after smelling this beer the flavor isn’t as powerful as I would have expected. Starts off with citrus and molasses and builds with a hoppy finish. This beer is fairly malty and is a bit thick in the mouth. In my opinion, this imperial IPA doesn’t do as good a job as hiding its 9% ABV as some others. Definitely an intense aroma and interesting taste, but I think it comes up a little short in some other areas.
3.5 Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly lasting. Body is hazy light to medium amber. Aroma is lightly malty (cookie, toasted grain), moderately hoppy (apricot/peach, orange, melon), with hints of sour vegetable matter and plastic. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately to heavily bitter. Medium to full body, velvety/syrupy texture, lively carbonation, moderately to heavily alcoholic, lightly astringent. This is pretty good despite some brashness and rough edges. Nice fruity hops with only minor off notes.A bit kitchen sink-ish in the mouth...balanced, but just too much of everything really...kinda fatiguing like many DIPAs can be. Kinda hot and syrupy in the mouth too. Despite these nits, it really is pretty solid for the style, but not something I’d buy again.
3.5 Bottle on the RBSG16 bus. Pours a clear gold with a medium sized white head. Big citrus, warm and boozy. Medium bodied, big and boozy, warm and full of citrus. Long alcohol, warm and full of caramel.
4.0 Very nice imperial IPA with a smooth sailing across the gums and tongue. Blessing to drink this one, had it after Jai Alai from Cigar City and that’s a good build-up!
4.1 I like this one more than the alphadelic. Goes down smooth, not overly bitter.
3.4 Pours a cloudy gold, with white head. Aroma of pine and hops. Taste is hoppy, rich and complex. This is a very nice IPA. Thumbs up.
3.6 Bottle. Pine resiny hop aroma with grapefruit hop citrus and some caramel malt notes. Pours cloudy orange colored with a large tan head that has excellent retention and good lacing. Starts with some caramel malt flavors as well as good grapefruit citrus flavor and acidity. Finishes very dry with bitter pine resiny hop flavor that lingers on the palate after each sip. Pretty nice.
3.5 12 oz bottle. Pours clear light copper gold with a big pillowy white head that retains well and leaves some lacing . The aroma is sweet bready caramel malt with piney resiny hops and a little fruit. The flavor is sweet caramel malt with some fruit and lots of bitter resiny hops that are slightly harsh. The mouthfeel is medium to fill bodied with smooth carbonation. Overall, a fairly well balanced DIPA.
4.0 I bought this in a bomber in Billings, MT and consumed it at Canyon Lodge in Yellowstone Park. It comes out a splendid yellow-amber fluid and gives a strong, long lasting white head that is replenished by some active carbonation. I smell pine needles (quite appropriate), biscuit and grain. The taste is just short of a hop bomb. I detect pine, grass and grapefruit with a mighty fine, lingering bitterness. Tip of the hat to the brewer. Enjoyed in the time and the place.
3.8 Bottle poured a clear golden amber with a small lasting ivory head. Aromas of biscuit, pine, earthiness and light grapefruit. Palate was light bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of biscuit, pine and light grapefruit with a smooth dry lingering bitter finish.
3.2 22 oz pours gold with white head. Bready malt, citrus and pine hops flavor. Not much aroma. Dank and sticky hop presense. Good IIPA.
3.7 Pours copper with a light white head. Slight earthy hop aroma. Clean hop forward flavor. Notes: bottle at Lee’s tequila and beer experience
3.7 Clear dark gold pour with nice sized white head. Big nose of crips citrus and pine. Flavor is full of fruit with a touch of sweetness and just bit bitterness. Nice warm punch of alcohol on the finish.
4.4 Brilliantly clear but deep golden with a slight copper tinge and a light spotty white cap. Brisk floral and earthy and bright citric zesty bitter nose with light citric bitterness and a touch of dank and light booze. Crisp and brilliant flavor that’s a tad piney and a little earthy but briskly bitter and floral and pithy and resoundingly flavorful throughout with American hop oils and bitterness dominating with a little dank and slight booze phenolic heat. Bold, complex, full and gorgeous.
3.5 tap @ tap & bottle: golden to copper color, fairly clear. Smell is not pine as advertised but more of a sweet strawberry and some grapefruit, quite a bit friendlier than typical NW IIPAs. Malt backbone is present but not overpowering. All in all missing a little bit of definition but quite nice.
3.7 12oz bottle - it pours a clear bronze gold with a med off white head. Obviously a hop forward aroma with a bunch of pine, citrus with an undertone of grass and a hint of malt. Big bitter pine and pithy hop note flavor. Minor malt contribution and slightly low carbonation. Great lingering bitterness.
Warto!

3.9 Excellent beer poured from a 22oz bottle on Christmas (after a few other beers). Nice medium body and good hoppiness. Overall very good!
4.0 Aroma: Medium/heavy aroma of malts, caramel, orange, pine, tea, hops and citrus. Appearance: Turbid/opaque golden/amber beer with heavy yeast and with a slight/medium off-white head. Taste/Palate: Starts medium sweet with malts, caramel, orange and pine; ends slightly bitter and medium dry with tea, hops and citrus. Overall: This beer is intense, complex and balanced. Always love IPA’s thst taste tea-ish. This beer is super creamy as well. Great at everything, but never amazing.
3.8 C’est super bon. Nez assez éthylique, fond a priori malté. Des agrumes assez fortes, petit fond résineux. Bouche : très resineuse, pas mal d’agrumes (surtout orange, pamplemousse). Sacrée présence en bouche, une sacrée longueur resineuse et très herbale.
