3.6Sample at the brewpub. Hazy dark brown color with a medium tan head that recedes steadily to a film. Patchy lacing. Aroma of roast malt, chocolate and vanilla. Light to medium body with flavors of vanilla, chocolate malt and mild coffee. The finish is sweet with a vanilla and malt aftertaste. Decent overall.
3.2Pours a deep brownish black from the bomber with thin wispy off-white head. Aroma of dark malts, mild burnt sugar, and a nice vanilla kick. Taste follows, but all pretty mild, if not a little thin on the mouth. Meh, not bad but nothing too exciting.

Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, dark malt, honey, vanilla, light molasses, light roasted. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, burnt sugar, vanilla, sweet malt, dark malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. 3.4On tap at the brewpub in Eugene, Oregon.
Opaque, essentially black body with a good head. Limited lacing.
Attractive aroma with hints of toffee, dark bread and vanilla.
A bit too much vanilla with less complexity than expected.
Smooth, medium+ body and overly light carbonation.
2.9Bottle. Pours dark hazy brown, blackish with a small light brown head. Notes of roasted malts, hops, bitterness, vanilla, chocolate, bread.

3.4650 ml bottle at Gueuze tasting 2016, Ulfborg. Unclear dark brown color with light beige head. Roasted malty aroma, chocolate, caramel, bready, light hoppy notes, spicy, vanilla. Sweet and light bitter taste like aroma, with milk chocolate addition. Light to medium oily body with soft carbonation.
3.3Vanilla and chocolate notes are nice, but I get the impression this would be a pretty weak porter otherwise. Body and ,alt profile do not stand out. OK.

3.5Bomber. Deep brown color with a thick and creamy tan head. Decent bits of thick wavy lacing. The aroma is strong with roast, lighter in cocoa and vanilla sweetness. Taste is consistent with the aroma, a moderate level of roast and mild bittersweetness before finishing with a bit more sweet from the vanilla. The vanilla stands out more than the cocoa and compliments the level of roast. Good stuff, but not a stand out. I could just sit back and enjoy a few pints of this, especially given the $5.00 price point.
4.3Bottle, 0.65l, shared with Hoppiness crew. Pours dark brown with medium soapy tan-like head and good lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, vanilla, white coffee and caramel. Tastes starts with moderate sweet roasted malt, follows by smooth and milky vanilla with caramel note, mouthfeel is silky, while finish is light bitter. Medium body, creamy texture and soft carbonation in palate. Excellent dessert beer...
3.7Bottle from Albertsons. Pours out a dark but clear brown with nice, tall fluffy head. Vanilla edges out the roast grains in the aroma, but both balance out in the taste. Roast grains finish the whole deal with a dry, lingering bite. Not overly sweet, which is nice.
3.3Small greige head over black-brown beer. Sweetish, bit dusty, vanilla, malts. Vanilla, liquorice, lavender, dry wood, pine. Harsh resiny vanilla finish. Medium bodied, well-carbonated. Bad it isn’, if a tad light. But the vanilla gets too harsh in the aftertaste. I get quite some lavender, too. Thx to M & L V!
4.165cl bottle, served in Duvel glass. Dark brown colour with beige head. Aroma is chocolate, vanilla, licorice and hints of smoke. Same flavours, but even more tasty than expected. The aftertaste is pretty much like milk chocolate despite the vanilla, with pleasant roasty notes. Full body, good carbonation. A very well balanced beer, highly recommended as a dessert one.
3.5Bomber shared by Jan, thanks! Vanilla porter with thick, creamy, lacing, pale yellowish beige head and deep burgundy robe with blackish ’soul’ yet still translucent, lightly hazy. Attractive aroma of indeed dry vanilla beans, cocoa powder, quite a lot of ’natural’ iron, toffee, beef stock cubes, hazelnut, some vague coffee grounds, bitter chocolate. Soft basic blackberry sourishness in onset paired with subdued banana sweetness and a light cured meat-like umami accent; softish carbo, smooth, slick and somewhat thin body, caramelly and nutty maltiness with a bittering toasted edge and some retronasal vanilla aroma which I expected (and hoped) to be stronger, honestly speaking. But then, this bottle already crossed the Atlantic and I can imagine an aroma as volatile and fragile as vanilla has faded in the meantime. Caramelly and toasted bittersweetness lingers after swallowing. Perfectly decent porter, but I expected something with a bit more ’oomph’, I guess...
