Hopf Weißer Bock

Hopf Weißer Bock

A traditional, strong wheat beer with a beautiful Marzen-color. A well balanced drinking experience, for the winter season. We recommend to drink it only at home...

4.0 Banana and graham cracker nose. Cloudy golden, thick yellow head, minimal lacing. Lemony banana flavor, apricots as well, not nearly as bready as the nose. Medium body. Abundant fruity esters, decent wheat character.
3.6 Refrigerated 0.5 L brown bottle poured into a weizen glass. Hazy copper with one-finger off-white head. Aroma is clove, medium body, medium carbonation, and some small-bubble lacing. Taste is clove, banana, and spice. Good beer, may have had some age and would have been slightly better fresher.
2.5 Bottle from Pivnizub - many thanks, Günther! The Weizen Bock pours out in a cloudy orange-amber colour with big steady head and medium to smooth body. Aroma of yeast and bananas. Taste of intense yeast, malt, overripe bananas and old fruit salad. Thick, sweetish finish. Too sweet and too much banana for me.
3.7 [Thanks to kevnic2008]. Bottle. Hazy orange/light brown colour with an off white head that quickly diminishes. Aroma has notes of banana and wheat, clove and yeast. Flavor is sweet, with light notes of caramel, toasted wheat and some spices with banana hints. sweet fonal with a creamy sensation on the mouth.
Lecker! Test vom 7.6.2009, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,13,12,13,12,13 - 12,70
4.1 Orangenfarben mit üppiger Schaumkrone. Hefe, Weizen, Gewürznelke, Banane und Zitrone sind zu erschmecken. Ziemliche Aromendichte und durchweg vollmundig. Genießerstoff!
4.0 Pours a hazy golden orange color with a thick, frothy white head. Wheat, citrus, clove, banana and yeast aroma and flavors. Medium light body and average carbonation. Slightly creamy mouth feel and a banana citrus finish.
3.4 Serving type: bottle Appearance- Pours a cloudy dark golden yellow with very little head and some good lacing on the glass. Aroma- Smell is of banana and clove with a subtle spiciness to it T/P- Taste is very strong of banana and wheat, beer is well carbonated but leaves a slight spiciness on the tongue Overall- This is a good wheat beer, I am not a big fan of wheat’s with a very strong banana flavor but this one is very nice.
3.4 Bottle from red white and brew. Pours golden with an inch of white foam that leaves a bit of lacing. Nice banana and clove notes on the nose. Those notes feel more subdued on the tongue. Thicker mouthfeel and taste than the dunkel. Finishes fairly clean. Solid.

3.5 Bottle 50 cl, BBE 01.06.2013. Pours dark orange in color with a frothy off-white head. Ripe banana hits you first in aroma along with some yeasty notes as well *). Very sahti-like in aroma. Nice. Sweet wheat in taste mostly with some slight peppery spices as well. Something forrest-like, like something that could originate from bushes or small conifertrees in taste too *) and later on as well in aroma. Slightly sweet in finish. Good tasting weizenbock.

3.6 New Beer Distributors, NY 500ml ($3): Pours a hazy light brown color with very little head. Aroma is banana, clove, wheat. Taste is much the same. Sweetness is actually pretty low, which is nice. Body is nice and easy drinking. This almost doesn’t feel like a weizen bock, which is fine because it makes up for it by being quite smooth.
3.6 Yellow pour. Hints of vanilla and caramel. Slightly sour finish. Delicious to say the least.
3.3 Bottled (from bierzwerg.de). Hazy orangeish amber colour with a minor head. Aroma is toffee/fudge with sweet malts, spices and some yeasty notes. Flavour is fruits, yeast, banana and wheat. Rather bodied, though not that special.
