3.5 Bottle 65cl @ The Beer Garden Store, Madrid, Spain. A: Hazy amber. T: Pumpkin, spicy, sweet, slightly malty.
3.7 An orange red and brown beer, a head is small and beige. Aroma is strongly spicy, ginger, cinnamon, sweetness of pumpkin and caramel, some barrel. Taste has more balanced spicyness, cinnamon and ginger, maltyness, some caramel and whiskeybarrel. Medium+ bodied. The strong spicyness is used to after a while, and then the balance is quite good. The barrel aging is propably given the strenght to overal impression.
3.5 Keg at CBC CG, london. It pours a clean Amber color with a small tan head. Aroma is sweet and spicy with some vanilla, cinnamon, pumpkin pie soices and booze. Taste is also big bold sweet and boozy with more ores of vanilla, cinnamon, spices and bourbon booze. Medium to full bodied with good carbonation. Overall, ok
3.8 Keg at Craft Beer Co, Covent Garden, London. An orange/amber coloured pour with a small off white head on top that does not linger. Sweet, boozy, vanilla, spice aroma. Tastes sweet, boozy, vanilla, spice, pumpkin, a little caramel. Nice boozy pumpkin job.
4.0 How : tap Appearance : unclear light brown color with a small slightly off-white head. Aroma : fruitcake, dates, cardemom, cinnemon, vanilla, orange peel, ginger bread. Palate : full body, soft to average carbonation.
3.5 Bomber from a PUB’R capo. Pours hazy orange with off-white head. Nose is caramel, pumpkin, oak, sweet potato. Tastes of huge oaky bourbon, some lighter pumpkin, caramel sweetness, finishes boozy.
2.3 Backlog from the Brony Bottle Share at Travlr’s. Lite copper with bare white head. Peppermint, honey, malt, pumpkin spice. Not good.
4.7 I really like this beer Been drinking this every fall for years. This beer is very drinkable. It has just the right spices!
3.4 Hazy orange color with beige head that goes away quickly. Aroma has nice pumpkin with spices but no evident barrel character. But you can get it on the taste along with spices. Quite bitter overall, doesn’t go that well with the spices. Not bad but a bit unbalanced.
3.5 22oz bottle - drank this right before I took the kids out trick or treating. Poured an amber color with an averaged sized head. Pumkin, whiskey and pumpkin spices. I wish the spices were more muted by the barrel aging, but not the case - but for what it is, was enjoyable.
4.4 Bottle from biere revolution Oak, vanilla, pumpkin, full of flavours, medium sweetness, light butter, full body. Wow
3.5 Bottle. The pour is lighter than I thought, a mild orange. The aroma is sourish with whisky tones. The taste has whiskey up front and mild pumpkin. Good seasonal beer.
3.2 Poured into a snifter. 3.0 A: Murky orange-tinted brown color. One finger of frothy beige head. Retention is lacking, but a short ring of lacing is left. 3.5 S: Pumpkin spiciness is most noticeable. It’s a mix of all the usual suspects - allspice, nutmeg, cinnamon, maybe some clove, but nothing stand out among them. A light leathery bourbon component complements the pumpkin well. Caramel maltiness from the base with a faint toastiness. It’s good, but it could use some more strength. 3.75 T: Taste is pretty much like the nose. Pumpkin spice, pumpkin, leathery bourbon, mild warming booziness, caramel malt. 3.5 M: Lighter medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Light creaminess. Could use more body, but overall it’s okay. 3.5 D: Good pumpkin beer, just not a great one. I like big spices, deep rich maltiness, and plenty of body. This doesn’t have any of those, but everything else is done well. ★ 907 characters DavoleBomb, Aug 31, 2013
2.5 One of the better pumpkin beers, but it’s still not my thing. To much spices, not enough beer,
1.8 [ bottle ][ 1oz ][ @DC tasting ][ ? ][ mini tumbler ][ 02.15.15 ] transparent orange, large bubbled white ring, spotty lacing. Ultra sugary and boozy nose, pumpkin actually plays second fiddle. Spiced flavor, less booze, sugar and oxidation present alongside cardboard mid that grows, spice retuning. Toned down pumpkin, but booze too high and oxidation has softened badly.
3.7 650ml bottle. Clear, amber colour with small, frothy, rapidly diminishing, off-white head. Spiced pumpkin aroma, hints of cinnamon, clove, rose hip, bergamot, additional BA notes oak and vanilla. Taste is sweet-and-sour, notes of pumpkin, bubblegum, mint, vanilla, leather, rose hip, bergamot, lemon. Indeed "complex, super tasty", very balanced and harmonious, unobtrusive; relatively light and very drinkable. Handles BA and spices with acrobatic and artistic, precisely artisan effortlessness.
3.7 Bottle split on the Chris Fudge memorial special, thanks to the Wingman, 02/03/15. Lightly hazed chestnut brown with a moderate off white covering. Nose is spice, biscuit, toffee, clove, nutmeg, dark fruit rinds, light booze, subtle bourbon check in, oaky. Taste comprises toffee, light booze, moderate pumpkin intake, nutmeg, spice rack, subtle bourbon. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close with subtle BA strokes and lightly warming alcohol. Solid BA pumpkinator - one of the best pumpkin beers I’ve come across, BA balance is spot on.
3.5 Bottle at Brony Tasting, DC. Pale gold, spicy, sweet, malty. Sweet spices underwritten by oaky alcohol.
4.1 Bottle I brought to the DC Tasting. Picked this up during a pit stop in Indiana on the way to RBSG 2014. Clear golden orange with off-white head. Aromas of whiskey, pumpkins, caramel, light spice. Tastes of whiskey, pumpkin, spices, caramel. Medium body with a dry finish.
3.3 Poured from a bottle it is clear golden with no head the aroma is allspice and the taste is sour apples that melds into a a sweeter apple taste
3.5 From a 22 oz bottle at the Brony bottle share at Travlrs place. Pours a clear copper with a scant off white head. Flavors of cinnamon and cloves
4.0 Bottle courtesy of GenDV138, thank you sir! Clear golden amber color. Nice aroma of vanilla, brandy, light spice and gourd. Taste is smooth and silky, boozy spiced butterscotch. Nice.
3.3 Not quite my thing. Lots of barrel and lots of pumpkin. Some spices like clove and maybe ginger. Pours orange with OK head and lacing. Bottle thanks to GenDV138.
3.4 Pours rather unclear blonde . Smell is pumpkin , bit wood . Taste is Sweet , pumpkin , slightly bitter ( barely ) . Woody in the finish .
4.0 Keg at the beer temple. Pours golden amber, aroma and taste of vanilla, toffee, sweet pumpkin, cinnamon.
4.1 Aroma and taste have notes of cinnamon and apples. Whiskey aftertaste. 2014 Pumpkin Double Blind Tasting: 1-Sam Adams Fat Jack. 2-Hoppin’ Frog. 3-Fegleys Devious. 4-Weyerbacher. 5-Southern Tier Pumking. 6-Terrapin Pumpkinfest. 7-Long Trail. 8-Riverhorse. 9-Blue Moon. 10-UFO Pumpkin (harpoon). 11-Sam Adams Pumpkin. 12-Shipyard Smashed Pumpkin. 13-Dogfishhead (shocker) 14-Ichabod.
3.7 Bottle. Pours deep orange with white head. Aroma is strong of baking spices, nutmeg, clove, vegetative, very autumny. Taste is medium bodied, lots of spice but nothing overwhelming, good flavor, medium carbonation. Overall, good.
3.4 Bottle... Pours clear and dirty-orange with no head. The aroma offers plenty of winter spices and ethanol. Full-bodied with restrained carbonation. The flavor is big time boozy and fairly sweet. Winter spices in both the flavor and red-hot finish. Bottle courtesy of darkguardian!
3.9 650ml bottle served in a Trappist glass. Pours a very flat translucent amber colour. Aroma is heavy spices, toffee and bourbon. Mouthfeel is just right for the luxurious taste and complements the feel of the beer. Taste is sweet toffee apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, toffee, caramel and a very heavy (but not overpowering) bourbon presence. Very different to the Jolly Pumpkin offering and equally brilliant in it’s own way.
