Hoppin' Frog Café BORIS

Hoppin' Frog Café BORIS

BORIS the Crusher made with coffee from the Hippie Coffee Company in Canton, OH. Freshly roasted coffee flavor and aroma add satisfying levels of complexity to this robust stout, perfectly complimenting its intense, rich roasted character. Cold infusion with whole coffee beans keeps the bitterness low and the flavor high!

3.8 One More Beer Festival, Kraków (02.09.2017) Czarny jak smoła trunek. Ciemno brązowa, umiarkowana piana. Smak i aromat są zbliżone do siebie. W zasadzie cały rdzeń piwa opiera się o kawę. Jest to natomiast mocno palona, gorzka kawa. Dużo nut palonych, popiołowych, gorzka czekolada, ciemne slody. Minimalny karmel i ciemne owoce. Umiarkowana tekstura, niskie nasycenie. Lepsze niż Rocky Mountain, ale ponownie nie wyrwało mnie z butów..
3.7 Tap at One More Beer Festival Kraków. Beer is dominated by coffee. Coffee in aroma, coffee in taste. Dry, some sour notes. Light body, should be more complex.

3.8 Nieprzejrzyscie czarne, piana szybko znika, W aromacie na pierwszym planie kawa, paloność i czekolada. W smaku kawa, wisnie w czekoladzie, marcepan, paloność, dosyć treściwe, goryczka wyraźna i lekko zalegająca, alkohol mocno grzeje w przełyku.

3.5 Bottle (from beergium). Pours black with dark brownish head. The head stays for some time. Aroma is roast, coffee, sweetness, malt. Flavor is sweet and bitter, coffe, burnt roast, malt, massive dark chocolate. milky notes. Finish is dark chocolate bitter. Overall: good, but I prefered the regular version. The burnt/over roasted coffee notes are something i don’t like (see also for example Põhjala Must Kuld Columbia).
