4.0 Dark yellow with small head. Yeast and grassy hops with long bitter aftertaste.
4.0 Darker golden coloured beer. Decent head. Good citrus hopped and grassy, but also some dark fruits. Malts getting trough also.
3.9 Bottle. Color clear orane with medium white head. Aroma malt, hoppy, citrus, yeast. Taste sweet, grapefruit, fruits, yeast, hop.
3.0 light yellow head. straw-yellow slight orange colour. smells like a typical belgian triple (no surprise), alcohol smell and something like a barn-yard. taste like triple (still no surprise), taste of old matured hops and alcohol. medium mouthfeel and soft carbonation. i expected more IPA-character in this beer. bottle 65 cl @ cata cervezorama
3.4 65 cl bottle @ home. Pours hazy golden amber with some sediment and an off-white head that leaves quite a bit of lacing. Aroma is citrus, peach, yeast, and spices. Flavour is much like the aroma – with a dry finish.
3.6 Bomber->SA. Copper with medium white head. Aroma: funky yeast, citrus and floral hops. Taste: sweet, hops over yeast. Good, but a little off balance.
3.6 From a bomber w no date into a Duvel tulip. Pours a shining blonde with a good amount of head which dissipates into nothing. Citrus and Funk aroma. Mouthfeel is pretty light but mildly greasy. Taste is strong hops, strong Belgian and strongish alcohol. Over the top which is typical for hoppin frog. Decent but not great.
3.6 650ml bottle. Golden orange with a lasting white head. Smells like it’s going to be quite sweet and malty, with some nice white grape and berry fruit notes thrown in too. Sweet caramel malts up front on the tongue with an interesting and evolving spiciness, or something akin to that, as it goes down. It doesn’t strike me as exactly Belgian in its character but it’s pretty nice either way. The hops must have receded dramatically but what’s left is decent stuff.
4.4 Pours a beautiful golden amber with a thick, pale golden tan head and lots of bubbles rising within. Robust aroma has yeasty, hoppy, fruity and subtle woody notes. Hearty flavor fills every nook and cranny in the palate with woody hop, fruity and malty tones plus yeasty, citrus and even herbal underpinnings. Firm, smooth texture is quite fizzy and lively. Hop to your package store or bar - you’ll abbey glad you monk one!
3.5 Bottle. Pour is a hazy yellow, seems like I am getting a lot of the yeast. The aroma is mostly yeast, with some faint hops. The taste is refreshing and crisp. The hops and belgian beer flavor come through in a major way. Better beer than I was expecting.
4.1 Bottle. Golden-orange colour with an off-white head. Aroma is hop, yeast, malt, sugar, sugar, frui, pine. Flavour is hop, peaches, pine, yeast, sugar, fruit, malt, orange. Full body. Balanced nice beer.
4.1 Pours a golden color with a white head. Aroma is your typical IPA citrus and pine, however this has an added yeast smell. Flavor is sweet, hoppy, and yeasty all at the same time, a wonderful combination. Very enjoyable and quite easy to drink!
3.2 roasty, citrus, earthy, golden, hazy, minimal head, medium bitterness, medium body, creamy, bitter, long finish,
3.8 From a 22 oz bottle shared at home. Pours a cloudy orange gold with a white head. Aroma of peach. Some grassy notes and plenty of citrus in the flavor. Excellent DIPA

4.2 Bomber from Bierkompasse cons 2013-02-23 Göteborg AR: lemon, grape fruit, pine needles, orange marmelade, wee yeasty, when poured Sicillian christmas cake (orange) AP: clear copper colored body, wee frothy creme white head F: Cointreu, apricot, grape fruit, tutti frutti tablets, wee warming feeling, very fresh drinkable, lime, medium bitterness & carbonation, finishes lemon sorbe ;)
3.7 Cask. Pours amber with a small short lived head. Aroma is very hippy but not dominating. Sugars still come through the aroma. Taste is pleasant hippy with abbey still coming through. Nice spice and yeast flavours.
3.8 Location: 22 oz bottle from Total Wine-McLean, 2/8/13 Aroma: The nose is Belgian yeast and spice, with caramel malts, fruity hops, and a little grass Appearance: A clear, bright orange colored beer with a very thin head and some light, drippy lace Flavor: The flavor of this one is much like the nose, it is yeasty, spicy, malty, fruity, and hoppy Palate: The body is medium, it has a little too much carbonation, some stickiness, and a dryish finish Overall Impression: This one works pretty well. Neither the Belgian yeast/spice or the fruity/grassy hops really dominates like you often find in these Belgian hybrid IPAs. Overall, I thought the combination worked quite nicely here.
4.4 Pours clear (until yeast) orange with a small white head. Smells of subtle citrus with some solid yeasty bread notes. Taste is bitter initially and then moves to a sweeter malt profile. Medium-bodied with a slick texture and average mouth-carbonation, Hoppin’ Frog Hop Master’s Abbey Belgian-style Double IPA finishes with a slight bitter tickle.
3.9 Bottle. Cloudy golden color, small white head, decent lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, mango, pineapple. Taste is bitter tropical fruit. Tasty.
3.8 Bottled. Pours slightly hazy and deep golden with a medium sized off-white head. Leaving a fair lacing on the glass. Nose of citrus fruits, piney notes and caramel. Sweet flavor of grapefruit and caramel. Medium bodied, oily texture and soft carbonation. Ends up more dry and solid bitter. Very nice indeed. ★★★★
3.7 650ml bottle. Cloudy orangey dark golden colour, some chunks floating around, with average, firm, frothy, lasting, lacing, white head. Complex aroma has IPA-typical hoppy and caramel malty notes, grapefruit, resin, a touch of citrus; additionally notes of vegetables, aniseed, salami. Taste delivers a mixture of similar notes, slightly sweet, herbal, with biting bitter hop that is more felt on the lips than tasted on the palate. Not bad, but I would be nosey to have devoid of the "Abbey Belgian-style".
3.5 Bomber poured a clear gold with a lasting off white head. Aromas of yeast, straw, grapefruit, light lemon zest, light pine and light spice. Palate was medium bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of straw, yeast, spice, pine and light grapefruit with a crisp dry bitter lingering pine finish.
3.9 22oz bottle, pale amber-gold color, with a pillowy white head, mild yeasty, fruity candied apricot, orange peel, honeyed pale, toasted, bread malt nose, with some light honey granola bar, orange marmalade, faint orange lollipop accents, with a floral citrus, cedary, leafy hop note in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodie palate with a nice yeasty, fruity, ripe apple, doughy, flowery leafy, grassy, zesty lemon, grapefruit, green grapefruit peel citrusy, soapy, minty, cedary, piney hoppy character, with some light spicy lemongrass, lemon-pepper seasoning, lemon marmalade, lemon pie crust flavours, with a faint pale, wheat, bread, toasted malt backbone, and a mild lemon lollipop, mint jelly undertone, leading towards a warming, good lemon, lime, grapefruit peel citrusy, cedary, leafy, grassy hop bitterness finish.
3.5 Pours hazy yellow with white head. Aroma of piny and fruity hops. Flavour is bitter, fruity and piny. It’s doubleipa.
4.1 Bottle, 22oz. A dense, off-white head of moderate size sits on top of a clear, golden body. The aroma has a nice IPA-style hoppyness, with some Belgian-style sugary maltyness, as well as a generic fruityness. Orange-peel, white sugar, pine cones, pale malts, candy hints, spiced notes and resins. The flavor is quite sweet, like a double IPA should be, but in a more Belgian style white sugar way. Bitterness, fruityness, pine cones, resins, some grass and flowers and a faint spiced yeastyness. Full body, pleasant carbonation. Lasting bitter and sweet finish. A really wonderful DIPA, sure shows that it’s perfectaly possible to blend a DIPA with Belgian yeast. 121124
