3.1 Appearance: Deep red copper. Thin head of white foam. Almost clear. Nose: medium roasted caramel malt forward. Aspects of dark stone fruit and tobacco Taste: Sweeter malt forward with aspects of molassess, earth, black cherries and a touch of raisin Body: fuller and round Parting thoughts: a big dopplebock. I like it.
3.9 A reddish brown beer, a head is dense, medium and beige. Aroma has dried fruits, dry cake, some oranges, caramel, hint of bread. Rich. Taste has dried fruits, richness of malts, some orange marmelade. Good balance with sweetness, not too much. Some breadyness and some bitterness in the end. Medium+ bodied, pleasant smooth and enjoyable. Dominance of malts, great and dried fruity beer.

3.8 (Hoppin’ Frog Karminator) Bottle 650 ml at home, served into a snifter, ABV 9.3% Deep red colour on the body, small but thick enough dark tan head, with good retention. Aroma of malts and sugars, plums, strawberry jam. Taste is sweet with caramel, light toffee on the finish, red fruits, marmalade, plums, dark fruits. Thick body with soft carbonation, sticky on the palate. Well hidden alcohol by the way. Good.
3.2 Tap @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration, 2016. Pours ruby amber with a white head. Berries, caramel and bread. Sweet and warming. Some alcohol.
3.8 Bottle purchased at One Stop Market, Haverhill. Deep garnet brown color, no head. Aroma is molasses, raisins, prunes. Flavor is a copy of the aroma. This is pretty much spot on a German example with a higher elevated alcohol level. Fuller body with a sticky texture over the palate. Of course this is sweet, such is the style. I think this very well crafted.
4.0 Tap @CBC16. Clear copper, beaige head. Malty, caramely aroma. Big creamy, fluffy mouthfeel. Caramely flavour, light hoppy biterness. uncomplicated and really nice.

3.8 Bottle at home. Pours deep ruby amber, nose is smokey sausage, malty toffee, caramel, taste is sweet, malty, toffee, caramel, bit of an abrupt finish.
4.0 Woody brown hue with a thin light beige head that dissipates somewhat quickly. Very interesting nose of a perfumey citrus and boozy toffee malt, a kiss of bubblegum, a light kiss of chocolate. Full and boozy malty flavor with a light kiss of bubblegum and floral citrus, a nice complex body and flavor so layered it’s hard to dissect. There’s honey and floral hops and toffee and bock malt and light toast and something slightly perfumey.
4.1 Extremely well rounded beer. Nice dry finish good residual sweetness, and a delicious bready maltiness... Great job!!
3.4 Tap at Uiltje, Haarlem. Murky brown with a beige head. Sweet aroma of sweet malts, caramel, light roasted, sweet alcohol. Taste is sweet, sweet malts, sweet alcohol, sweet candy sugar aftertaste. Not too bad, just don’t like this particular style’s sweetness.
3.8 (Draught at Delirium Hoppy Loft, Brussels, 14 Oct 2015) Dark brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of dried fruit, raisins, prunes and dark bread. Malty, roasted taste with dried fruit, raisins, prunes, caramel and a slightly vinous finish with a balanced spicy bitterness. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Potent and warming, but still in good balance and really tasty. Very nice.
3.7 Draft @ beertemple. Aroma of caramelised malt and wheat. Flavor of sweet ripe dark fruit, figs, caramel, raisin and some booze. Like a mix of doppelbock and us strong ale.
3.5 22 ounce bottle from Whole Foods. Murky brown amber color. Caramel. Toffee. And a big sweetness. Some syrup in that sweetnes.
3.6 On tap at Delirium Hoppy Loft, Bruxelles. Hazy reddish amber, small off white head. Aroma is dark fruits, spices, light buttery note. Taste is similar, very well balanced, thick oily mouthfeel, medium carbonation. Maybe it lacks something in the roasted malts department, enjoyable nonetheless. BTW, the grumpy fat bearded hipster working here is half an an asshole, beware.
3.4 Bottle@stapabar. Deep amber, red. Sweet malty nose, red berrieds., full med bodied, breadyness. A malty clean one. -- bb
3.4 650ml bottle @Stadin panimobaari. Pours copper color with a thin white head. Aroma has memma, dark bready notes, nutty notes. Flavor has sweetness, liquid bread, mämmi. Sweet, very malty.
3.4 Sampled draft @ Delirium Hoppy Loft. Deep red amber, small tanned head. Nose is hugely sugary, candy, light Churchkhela, syrupy, thick candy with some cough syrup, interesting & pleasant smell. Taste is unfortunately overly heavy on very herbal & very thick cough syrup, herbal licorice, candy, red grapes, molasses. Lower carbonation. Too much herbal cough syrup for me, interesting but not really for me.
3.1 From notes. Poured medium-deep amber with a dusting of off-white head. The aroma picked up sweet fruity and nutty notes paired with some warm vanilla.. fairly hot overall. The flavor found warm, grainy caramel, molasses, and nutty notes at the core.. black peppery notes around and through the finish.. sweet backbone. Heavier-bodied and hot on the palate.. only an OK flow. This was aiight.
4.3 Bottle bought at the Hoppy Loft Brussels. It pours a misty red amber with a small tanned head. A very rich and nicely complex aroma with above all sweet malts, liquorice, vanilla, hay, hops, touch of silty soy-sauce and smoked meat. Taste is intriguingly complicated too with meaty sweet and roasted malts, honey, vanilla, fruity citrus notes, umami, sweet meats, bayleaf, some hopbitterness and a nutty madeira like, silt edged aftertaste with a hint of cocosbread and white pepper. It’s got a fizzy though smooth, light oily mouthfeel. Oh what a wondrous brew this is. Love it very much indeed!
4.1 Bottle bought and generously shared by Craftmember, from Delirium Hoppy Loft. Hoppin’ Frogs top-fermented take on the German Doppelbock style. Thin, lacing, stable, pale beige head over a hazy burgundy coloured beer with reddish glow. Rich and beautifully perfumed aroma of melting milk chocolate and Belgian chocolate ’truffels’, hazelnuts, vanilla, touch liquorice, kahlua, caramel, Worcestershire sauce, marmelade, baked banana, madera, marzipan, even a suggestion of coconut. Sweet, soft, fluffy onset, very caramelly, Belgian chocolates, dates, almond, banana cake, umami flavours adding complexity, slight hint of soy sauce, bready malts, smooth with a toasted touch, very light but well-dosed sourishness as well as a light spicy hop bitterness in the end, remaining in the background not to overpower the feast of malts as it ought to be in a Doppelbock, and some warming, bourbon-like alcohol. Adorable, this brewery is gradually conquering the malthead in me...
3.6 Keg at Brewdog Shepherds Bush, London. A hazy amber/brown coloured pour with a medium off white head on top. Sweet, malty, caramel aroma. Tastes slightly sweet, malty, caramel, dark fruit. Interesting beer.
