Hornbeer Black Magic Woman

Hornbeer Black Magic Woman

Danish: Vores bud på en anderledes stout
med tørverøget malt. Her er tale om
en rigtig mandfolkeøl med meget af
det hele. Øllet er brygget på ristede
bygmalte, birkerøget malt, tørverøget
malt, karamelmalte og alemalt. Øllet
er humlet mere end ellers for at balancere
den kraftige maltprofil. Og hvornår
kan man så drikke denne øl? Til
maden er det en udpræget dessertøl
eller til mørk chokolade. Kraftige oste
er også et fint tilbehør, men det er
altså også tilladt at drikke den uden
noget til andet end en god lænestol.

3.9 Bottle@ friends/Chef. Appearance: pours clear dark black with good beige soapy head and lacing. aroma/taste: caramel, chocolate, smoke, light peat, light oak, light alcohol and some liquorice. palette: strong roasted malty and smoky aroma, average carbonation, medium to full body, medium to notable sweetness, balanced by a medium bitterness, average to long duration and an oily texture. Overall: Great smoky imp stout
4.2 Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 12.02.18. Dark brown to ebony. Small pale brown head. Fine aroma of smoked malt, tar, creosote and old sea house houses. Fantastic taste of smoked malt, whisky casks and tar. Well balanced with medium bitterness. Quite dry.
4.7 Pite z kranu. Bardzo gęstej konsystencji. W smaku bardzo pełne, mocno czekoladowe. Wyjątkowa wędzonka.
4.1 Awesome beer. Tons of heavy dark chocolate notes, light coffee, smokey nose and an aftertaste of smoke and heavy roasty bitterness. Nice thick and oily body with light carbonation, slightly creamy mouthfeel. Awesome fucking beer.
4.4 2014 drank in 2017. Smooth and very rich. Dark chocolate and full roast finish.
3.7 On bottle. Pours black, with thick beige foam. Scent of smoke. Notes of chocolate, high carbonation. A bit alcoholic at last.
3.6 Bottle. Pours nearly black with a frothy light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt with coffee, ash, burnt wood. Medium to full body with hardly any sweetness and a medium bitterness. Tons of coffee in the flavor along with cocoa, burnt wood, ash and earthy notes. Lots of coffee - that makes the beer a little bit unbalanced. Aroma: 8 Appearance: 4 Taste: 7 Palate: 4 Overall: 13
4.3 50cl mht08/2026 (!) taxfree from ColorLine Oslo-Kiel, SEP 2017, paired with Tingvollost Kraftkar bluecheese. - Note: should have saved this for a beechwood-alderwood-birchwood comparative smoked beer tasting, but alas&zum Glück: good company lays down more spontaneous laws of the moments. - Pours a flatter ebony black with a suave mauve shine. - Aroma not overly expressive, instead a sign of its balanced maturity: chocolate melted au bain marie, wood branches, some tar and wet liquorice. - Impressive balance of mentioned aromas, roasted berries, coffee bean, on a silky mouthfeel, very little heat or syrupiness. The luxurious wet and earthy birch smoke acting as subtle catalyst, adding retronasal spice more than making for a flavour bomb. - Glad I did not rate this from a Braukunst Live microsample last year.

4.5 A deep black imperial stout with brown creamy foam the taste is roasted malt, smoke, tar, coffee with a good balance between sweetness and bitterness
3.9 Not very original but very well done. A strong Imperial Stout that’s quite satisfying if you’re not looking for something that it’s not.
4.1 Pannuhuoneella 3/2017. Tasty and balanced imperial stout. Quite "easy", still interesting and enjoyable.
3.4 Frisch vom Hahn in der Targowa in Wroclaw getrunken. Fast schwarz mit etwas Schaum. Im Antrunk wuchtige Röstaromen. Ganz später kommt die Rauchnote. Soll 113 IBUs haben, nur wo sind die?
4.1 Piwo o barwie czarnej z obfitą i utrzymującą się pianą. Aromat kawy i czekolady, dość intensywny. W smaku kawa i gorzka czekolada i lekki torf. Alko dobrze ukryte, piwo bardzo pijalne, świetnie zbalansowane. Dobrze ryje beret. Nie może jakiegoś wow, szału ale jest to wszystko co potrzeba do dobrego RIS-a.
3.9 Tap at Joutsen. Black with xl head. Quite Roasty. Black berries, Some sweet, some fizzy.
3.8 Bottle. Black thick body and a brown lasting head. Aroma of smoke, black coffee and roasted malt. The taste is heavy sweet and medium bitter - well balanced. Nice.
4.2 Tap (Targowa, Wroclaw). Black with big beige head. Roasty, chocolate and delicate hint of booze in aroma. The same in taste with roasty bitterness and sweet finish. Like sweet liqueur, very nice and drinkable, warms a bit, generally very tasty.
3.8 Unclear dark black colored beer with a small head, low carbonation. Taste is coffee, bitter (hops), herbs, rauch malts.
3.8 Drank with Elroy @ STOOM 12-3-2017. Nice stout, sweet taste. Body is a bit thin but in general good.
3.5 500ml bottle. Pours black with small beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, burnt coffee, smoked malts, ash. Medium body with soft carbonation. Taste is unbalanced, light sweet and medium bitter with dry-ish, bitter finish.
3.4 Aroma - a lot of roasted malt, some diluted coffee, a bit smocked black fruits, slightly burned wood. Taste - a lot of roasted malt bitterness, dark chocolate, pitch, earthy notes.
4.0 Czarne, nieprzejrzyste. Piana brązowa, drobna, obfita. Bardzo ładnie się prezentuje. W aromacie intensywna gorzka czekolada. Są też lekkie nuty drewniane, wędzone. W smaku czekoladowy, wytrawny. Lekko kwaskowy. Lekko cierpkawy, drewniany posmak.
3.5 Nose smoke. Pale brown head. Dark brown/black color. Taste is sweet with some smoke. Average hops. Fruitiness. Delicious
4.0 Bottle@Nordic, Tampere, Finland. Strong aroma with rubber and licorice. Pitch black color with no head. Strong taste with lactose, licorice, bit roasted coffee and some malts. Wide taste spectrum and long aftertaste with roasted malts. Medium body with low/medium carbonation. Overall, Too light palate for the percentage, still organic with emphasizing licorice flavor. Very good.
3.9 Bottle. Jet Black in colour. Viscous, tarry. Very Malty; roasty/burnt malts, smoked malts, dark chocolate, espresso coffee, burnt sugar, some liquorice, caramel. Slightly smokey and spicey. Fruity; dark fruits. Hoppy; slightly earthy hops. Sweet roasty malty throughout. Enjoyed this. Good Impy Stout! (2011-04-17)
4.3 El black. Quite similar to the other 2 impys I had - seems like very little separates the 3 beers to make each stand out on its own. I’m sure the reviews will be different but I get my point. All aromas are subdued with nothing really standing out. Deeeeep roasted malts, smoke in the same vein as what I see in Aecht brews, almond, prune, caramel. Ok, so the excellent smoke is of a high level here so my earlier comment doesn’t really stand anymore - but it did early on. Man, the aroma is sure coming out now as that smoky goodness wafts out slow and thick. The lack of obvious hops is wonderful. Big flavour that melts away. Huge malt content. Massive. Some smoke early that gets stronger while the bitterness loads up and a slight fruit seems to blanket the rise of the eventual ashy mouth. This is no bacon smoke lump of shit. That subtle smoke takes it toll and leave in its wake an ashy log mouth which is perfect. The aftertaste is now epically long and hopefully permanent. Caramel, some harshness, more roast. Minerals. The residue in moi bouche is so heavy and intense that it has actually changed the perception of each new sip - as if my palate is aging during the process. Breath it in. The sludge at the bottom of my bottle is unparalleled. Clearly The Fundamental and Black Magic are heads above the Caribbean stout. Hard to part with 13 clams but there’s a good chance it happens again.
3.5 Very dark, almost black. Hazy. No head. Smoky, wood and wine, turf in the aroma. More smokiness in the taste, bitter spike. A bit rough and lacks mildness.
3.7 Kolor ciemnobrązowy, beżowa spora piana. W aromacie nuty palone, wędzone, czekolada, gorzka kawa, trochę czuć alkohol. W smaku podobnie jak w zapachu- paloność, wędzoność, gorzka kawa, czekolada, delikatnie wyczuwalny alkohol rozgrzewa przełyk. Dobry RIS, ale to bie najwyższa półka.
