Hornbeer Happy Hoppy Viking

Hornbeer Happy Hoppy Viking

Danish: Til humlevennerne. Det er vores
hidtil mest humlede øl – en triple IPA
med omkring 130 IBU. Vi har brugt
bygmalte, hvoraf nogle har karamelkarakter.
Farven er derfor gylden. Vi har
tørhumlet øllet ved at lade det trække
med humle under lagringen. Det er
derfor man fornemmer en tydelig
blomsterduft, når man hælder øllet i
glasset. IPA er perfekt til de stærke
oste. Humlens bitterhed passer rigtigt
godt med ostens skarphed.

3.3 Great IIPA. Fresh and powerfull. Great hoppy finish, and the body hides the alcohol well.
4.1 5/VI/17 - sample from 50cl bottle @ LIBF 2017 (Leuven) - BB: n/a (2017-763) Thanks to the Belgian RB crew for sharing today’s beers! Clear orange beer, small creamy off-white head, very stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very sweet, malty, fruity touch, caramel, ripe tropical fruits. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: very bitter start, resinous, malty, some pineapple, nice stuff. Aftertaste: dank, resinous, hoppy, very nice!
3.7 Farven er uklar ravfarvet og skumkronen er flødefarvet. Aromaen er blomster, tropisk frugt og malt, medens smagen er frugt, græs og humle. En god øl.
3.4 Reddish brown colour with thin head. Aroma is floral and hoppy. Flavour is less intense.
4.0 Wow. En god og spændende tripel IPA. Smagt på Ølfestival, Købnhavn, God humlet smag.
3.9 On tap at Bishops Arms Östersund. A very decent IPA with a smashing aroma and quite a powerful flavour. That’s the result of it being a triple IPA I guess and the deep bitterness that comes with it. Nothing mind blowing but very decent.
4.0 Bottle from Beerlovers, Vienna, tasted at Zil Verne’s tasting. Dark orange color with thick white head. Aroma of caramel, pines, zest, floral notes. Taste caramel, zest, pines, grapefruits. solid malty backbone. Long hoppy bitter finish. Alcohol is dangerously hidden. Tasty.
3.6 On tap at Delirium Hoppy Loft, Bruxelles. Pours dark orange to brown, medium off white head. Malty, caramel, toffee, hoppy, ripe fruit, sweet, lasting bitter finish. Medium+ bodied. Too much on the sweet side for my taste.
2.7 BKL2016. Spicy, hard candy nose Grey yellow Alcoholic, phenolic, somewhat green A bit sticky
3.2 Bottle 0,5. Pours redish amber with medium white-off creamy head. Aroma of caramel, barley malt, grass, somewhat hops and a bit pine. Taste is sweet with some bitterness in the aftertaste. Molasses, pine, grape, fruits. Creamy with mild carbonation. A pleasent beer that hides the alcohol well, however not what I would expect from a IIPA
3.1 Bottle at Bobs Brewery. Clear copper with a medium sized beige head with good retention and regeneration. Caramel, light cheesy hops, wood, dark bread and sugar in the nose. Flavour has dark bread, caramel, earthy/wooden notes, light citrus, port wine and heavy greasy/cheesy hops. Full body, soft carbonation, medium/heavy sweet and bitter with warming alcohol. Sort of a hoppy barley wine, but no rough bitterness or alcohol.
3.5 500 ml bottle from Systembolaget. Dark golden with a average white head. Moderate hoppy aroma of citrus, pine and floral; moderate malty with notes of caramel, resin and toffee. Taste reflects the aroma. Medium bodied, with a slightly slick texture. Medium bitterness.
3.7 Aroma: pine, resin, citrus, caramel. Taste: medium bitter, pine, resin, caramel
3.5 Sample @ Voldby Ølfestival 2016. Pours clear orange/golden with a medium white head. Notes of resin, malt, pine, orange, grapefruit, caramel, bitter faded hops.
3.8 Sample @ Voldby Ølfestival 2016. Clear dark golden pour with a generous head. Notes of sticky resin, pine needles, heavy bitterness, caramel, stone fruit and some grape fruit.
Bottle. 3.9 Fruchtige Zitrusnoten, etwas Stachelbeere sanfte Schaumkrone, dunkelgelb Fruchtbombe: etwas Grapefruit, Stachelbeere, Mango, nicht aufdringliche Bittere, wodurch die Feeruchtnoten besser zur Geltung kommen fruchtig voller Körper, nachhängende zarte Bittere mit Furchtkorb richtig gut.
4.1 Tap at Craft House. Dark orange color, thick white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, lot of pines and oranges zest, grapefruits, floral notes. Taste is caramely, zesty, piney, citrusy, grapefruity, solid malty backbone, dangerous alcohol, long hoppy kick
3.0 Bottle. Pours murky golden. Fairly malty. Bread crust, floral, orange peel aroma. Noticeable alcohol. Slightly harsh, grassy aftertaste.
3.7 Hazy dark orange color. Very nice hop nose with a lot of citrus, some pine and fruit. Taste is bitter hops, citrus, pine and grass, but balanced by a sweet caramel malt base. Long balanced bitter finish.
3.8 Acquired via trade with Chopz. Pours a fairly big frothy off-white head and has a hazy amber appearance. Dirty lacing. Aromas of bready malts, yeast, earthy and resin hops. Flavours are mainly hops, lots of dried fruit notes, yeast and earthy, resin hops. Some spices appear mostly in the finish. Somewhat tarty on the palate. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Abv is somewhat noticeable.
3.1 Tap c4. Pours deep amber with a white head. Aroma of caramel, light grape, loads of spicey and earthy hops, fruity. Taste is medium bitter with loads of residual sugar, grape and citrus. Light bitter finish.
4.2 Bottle from Color Line Viking. Amber. Not that much head. Peach, tropical fruit, pineapple, citrus flavour. Very nice. Citrus and quite a lot of alcohol nose. Medium and oily body. Soft carbonation. Bitter. Warming. Very good beer!
3.8 Aroma: Medium aroma of malts, caramel, orange, bread, pine, hops, citrus and grapefruit. Appearance: Turbid/opaque amber/orange beer with a slight/medium off-white head. Taste/Palate: Starts medium sweet with malts, caramel, orange and pine; ends slightly/medium bitter and medium/heavy dry with bread, hops, citrus and grapefruit. Overall: This beer is balanced and intense, deep and complex. The malts are a bit too dominant for the hops however and the palate could be less average.
3.9 Tap in Piwna Stopa. This one is a beautiful beer. Awesome fruity hoppy aroma. Almost full body with very well balanced sweetness and bitterness. In the same time it’s quite drinkable. Very good style representant.
3.3 Bottle at ZBF 2016. A very intense IIPA indeed. Oily and think, lots of sweetness and bitterness, malts. Fills all the gaps in your mouth, sticky. Tropical, mango, some citrus. Too much.
3.8 Bottle. Slightly hazy light Golden, small White head. Nose is really nice, taste hoppy with a fruity note. Medium body, soft carbonation.
4.0 Bottle @ home. Smells and taste pretty hoppy, fresh. Slightly pine and resin, but not too much. Medium body, soft carbo.
