Hornbeer Russian Imperial Stout

Hornbeer Russian Imperial Stout

70 pct kakao. Men Hornbeer Russian Imperial Stout går altså også fint alene!

3.5 500 ml bottle. BB 01/09/13. Mange tak Timo A! Black color, small tan head. Roasted malt, alcohol, sweetness and burned white fish in the aroma. The flavor is roasted malt, sweetness, spices, alcohol and sugar. Nothing really wrong with this but a bit boring for an Imperial Stout.
2.9 Bottle. Pours a jet black body with a massive cloudy caramel-hued beige head. Nose is dark berries, coffee, grains, caramel and hints of licorice and leather. Taste is bitter herbs, dark chocolate, coffee, caramel and hints of grains and dark berries. Medium to full body, medium to high carbonation. Not bad, but the high carb levels and bitter herbal hoppy notes makes it a bit harsh around the edges. Decent enough, but certainly no winner in this weight class.,
2.4 Old rating rerated 20.03.2016, 0,5l bottle @ home: Huge slightly fizzy-creamy longlasting head. Aroma is slightly sour-ish mineraly, weeds, bark, roasted grain, hops, sour coffee, licorice, burnt toast, co2 stinging in the nose. Taste is sour-ish roasted, weeds, sour coffee, burnt grain, grass, minerals, burnt toast, bark, licorice, pine needles, paper. Medium to longlasting bitterness, sour-ish harsh mouthfeel. Not my cup of tea.
3.5 Bottle (500 ml) at home. Best before 06-06-2017. Pitch black with a frothy large persistent brown head leaving good lacing. Aroma is of fudge, vanilla, roasted malts, coffee, raisins and mild spiciness. Taste is sligthly sweet, mildly acidic and quite fruity with raisins, roasted malts, chocolate and hints of vanilla. Medium body, but a bit thin for the style. Medium carbonation. Fruity finish. Short aftertaste. Decent flavorful RIS but thin on the mouthfeel and a bit too acidic for my liking.
3.7 Draft at Uiltje. Black with a medium brown head. Aroma of roast, coffee, licorice, toffee and caramel. Flavour is light heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

4.0 DWF; Bottle, large. Pours large, black with a frothy to creamy, lasting and lacing tan head. Nose is heavy, roasted, malt, smoked, dark dried fruit, dark chocolate, dark coffe, light ash and delight. Taste is heavy sweet and bitter with lasting smoked, balanced warming finish. Body is medium to full, texture is oily to creamy, carbonation is soft.
Behagelig bitterhet i ettersmaken. Medium/tykk konsistens.
3.4 Roasted aroma with coffee. The aroma was not very strong. Taste is also roasted and coffee, but there is some dark fruits and. Taste is almost sour but with a bitterness in the aftertaste.
3.7 How: Bottle. Where: Systembolaget. Appearance: Black colour with a beige head. Aroma: Fruit, chocolate, coffee, raisin, some vanilla. Body: Medium body, low to medium carbonation. Flavour: Chocolate, alcohol, some coffee, roasted malt, liquorice.
4.0 Bottle 50 cl. Black with a medium lightbrown head. Chocolate aroma, with some roasted and coffee. Light sweet, light bitter with a long soft chocolate end.
3.9 Svart farge med beige skum. Lukter mørke stenfrukter, kaffe, sjokolade. Fyldig og mye smaker. Fruktig og kaffe preger denne mest. Søt. Imperial stout er aldri feil. Noe kort avslutning.
3.8 Svart med høyt lys brunt skum. Lukter espresso, kakaobønner, mørke frukter, noe vanilje, sviske og trevirke. Fyldig. Smaker noe salt lakris, alkohol og fruktsødme. Medium lang bittersøt avslutning.
2.3 Fruity, malt sweet aroma with cocoa & coffee. Black with large brown long lasting head. Sour & dry taste. Medium body, thin texture & soft carbonation.
2.7 50cl bottle. Pours black with tan lasting head. Aroma is chocolatey and not much else, hints of hops. Tastes quite tame with some chocolate and coffee. Mild in every aspect, probably nice in right circumstance (with food?).
3.9 Bottle from systembolaget. Pours Black with a medium brown head. Aroma is sweet, with chocolates and malts. Taste is deep with roasted malts and a bit smokey, not very sweet though some coffee and chocolate. Palate is a bit too thin with an oily texture. Overall a nice beer, though I wished for a bigger and fuller taste.
2.8 500mL bottle, pours jet black with a towering brown head that overflows the glass -- something seems wrong here. After waiting 10 minutes to let this thing temper down, the aroma brings out notes of roasted malt, burnt rubber, and light sourness. Flavour is along the same lines, with burnt roasted malt, rubber, and maybe a hint of sourness. No doubt there’s an infection to this. The carbonation is way too high as well. It’s not a disaster, and once you let it settle a bit, it’s okay, but this is clearly off.
4.5 Bottle 50cl. Pitch black with a foamy brown head. Intense flavours of peat, coffee and some chocolate. Beautifull taste. Extreme rich, full bodied and nice in balance with a good portion hops. Well done! Long lasting finish.
3.2 50 cl systembolaget.
3.4 Bottled: Pours black with a large, thick head. aroma is roasted malt, biscuits and char coal. Taste is roasted malt, licorice and coffee leading to a warming finish. A pretty basic Imperial Stout.
3.8 500ml bottle. Pitch black body with a medium tan head. Roasted malt, coffee and dark chocolate. Finishes dry and bitter, with a hint of alcohol.
3.2 A: Liqurice, smoke, chocolate, malt T: Taste follows aroma. O: Quite alright Russian imperial Stout, no more no less.
