Horny Goat Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter

Horny Goat Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter

A full bodied porter that gets its dark luscious color from the generous use of roasted malts. We bring just enough hops to balance out the hefty malt backbone but leave the stars of the show to shine. You will get just the right amount of chocolate and peanut butter to question whether you’re drinking a glass of delicious suds or popping a peanut butter cup in your mouth.

3.6 Peanut butter is the dominant flavor. Everything else is hidden in the background. Low carbonation. From the very beginning to the last drop you are on a journey through peanut butter country. A different kind of beer. Not bad.
3.0 Pours like regular porter---from can---some head at first but goes away quickly. Some lacing. Thinish mouthfeel, some bakers chocolate bitterness along with toasted malt dry.Not sweet like another ChocoPeanutButter porter/stout iv'e had by other brewer. BUT, took off .5 points overall rating for usage of "artificial flavor added", printed on top edge of can. wish I would have read the can before purchasing. Their Salted Caramel Brown Ale is very nice and didnt see artificially flavored on it's can?
3.7 Pours a black color. Two fingers brown head. I smell even as I pours, oh wow oh wow. Good retention, good lacing. Aroma is peanut butter, quite heavy. Chocolate is pretty heavy. Smells amazing! Taste is not as good. Peanut butter, chocolate, yes. Dark roasted malts. It's good, but it's not sweet enough, it finishes bitter and salty. Mouthfeel is medium bodied. Kinda bitter, needs to be sweeter. Wet finish. Not super drinkable. Overall I'm disappointed. I expected more. I would recommend trying it, but I wouldn't buy it again.
2.5 Doesn't look conspicuously different, but the flavor is the kicker here. Definitely strong on the peanut butter, and the sense of the artificial flavors is really a problem. Not to my liking.
3.3 12 ounce can I grabbed this on a recent trip to the store based on nothing more than curiosity and the desire to compare it to Willoughby Peanut Butter Cup Porter. On either metric the results don't stack up. It's a fun change of pace well worth $1.99 yet with so much product on the shelves hard to recommend over many other alternatives. AROMA / APPEARANCE A fluid black base seeps downwards with energy. Chilled Reeses peanut butter cups envelop the air around the glass almost immediately with an aggressive fervor. The hints of generic black coffee do provide some contrast and depth. FLAVOR / PALATE Sips of coffee chased by big bites of a peanut butter cup or Reeses Pieces warm the palate. The ensuing transition layers some smoky bitterness before the dry finish. Even compared to a baseline porter this doesn't hold up completely. I don't regret the choice but I won't be rushing to try more of their offerings.
3.6 Appears like a chocolate shake. Strong peanut butter aroma. Chocolate and peanut butter is the perfect description. Very unique. A bit gimmicky, but it's like drinking a shake in beer form.
4.5 I had this in the can at home in June 2018 very nice rich porter that has the taste of chocolate and peanut butter
3.8 Can. Dark color with a brown head. Peanut malt aroma. Peanut chocolate malt flavor with a slight bitter finish. Medium body.
4.3 Pours opaque chocolate with a thick and persistent buff head. Aroma delivers chocolate that goes on for days, as well as roast malt, peanut and biscuit notes. Flavor yields chocolate, biscuit, peanut, roast malt - yep, this is a liquid Reece's Peanut Butter Cup. With alcohol. Mouthfeel presents firm, smooth body and peppy fizz. Reece's Peanut Butter Beer!
3.5 Tasted from a 12oz. can. It poured a deep dark brown with a tan head that left minimal spotty lacing. Peanut Butter and coco aroma. Taste of Reese's Pieces with a roasted malt backbone. Not nearly as interesting as I thought it would be. I was a bit disappointed when I saw "artificial flavor added." I am not impressed. 🎼Ahh! Me so horny! Ahh-Ahh! Me so horny! Ahh! Me so horny! Me love you long time!🎶
3.6 12 fl oz can. Pours dark brown, huge brown head. Distinct peanut and chocolate malty from a distance. Toffee, peanu and caramelish. Lingering caraemelish and peanut. Toasted malt finish.
4.0 Got in a trade with The-Adjunct-Hippie. 12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 1/30/2017. Pours nearly opaque dark brown/black color with a 2 finger dense and rocky light khaki head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big peanut butter, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toffee, fudge, brown sugar, vanilla, graham cracker, toasted dark bread, herbal, light pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great complexity and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, peanut butter, chocolate, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big peanut butter, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toffee, fudge, brown sugar, vanilla, graham cracker, toasted dark bread, herbal, light pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/spicy hop and roast bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of peanut butter, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toffee, fudge, brown sugar, vanilla, graham cracker, toasted dark bread, herbal, pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, peanut butter, chocolate, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great roast/hop bitter/sweet balance, and zero acrid/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from hop/roast bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready, and lightly silky/sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6.5%. Overall this is an excellent American porter! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, peanut butter, chocolate, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/drying finish. Impressively rich malt complexity, with great PB/chocolate presence and balance. Pretty much identical to the imperial version, but this is a little more intense on roast/coffee notes and earthy hop presence. A really enjoyable offering.
3.8 Can; pours dark brown with a tan head; strong peanut butter aroma with some roasted malt and a little chocolate; taste is more peanut butter than chocolate with roasted malt; dry, peanut butter finish with a touch of roasted malt bitterness
4.1 12oz can shared by commonshawn. Consumed outside on the patio. Aroma is pleasant like Reese’s Puffs cereal...chocolate and peanut butter working in tandem. Great nose. Taste follows suit with plenty of sweetness with an artificial flavor quality. That flavor is delicious though. Peanut butter cereal comes to mind again. Slightly thin mouthfeel. Better than anticipated. Solid first beer to have tried from this brewery.
4.1 12oz can. Cola brown black with creamy tan head. Smells amazing, heavy peanut butter and chocolate. Sweet, rich, tasty. .medium body. Really good.
3.6 Dark pour, tan head. Lots of peanut in the aroma. Flavor is sweet, malty. More peanut butter, some chocolate. Not too roasted. Pretty nice. The finish is some lingering bitterness with some peanut powder.
3.5 12 ounce can from home. Very Nice! Taste is really good with chocolate, missing peanut butter once again. Very smooth on palate and over all really nice beer for porter.
3.8 Aroma and flavor is peanuts, chocolate/dark malts and a mix of salt and acidity in the finish.
3.3 The artifical flavor cavet , killed it , was true to the porter style , very thin as it should be , basically a good beer , wonderful smell .If brewed with no artifical flavor I would have given it a 8/10 .
4.3 Full peanut butter and chocolate aroma and full of taste. Pours dark brown with a nice tan head. It is sweet, but also has a grain finish to it.
3.7 Can from 7-11 Dark brown with ruby highlights and a decent sized tan head that persists. Huge peanut butter cup on the nose with a bit of earth at the edges. Flavor follows through but leaves a bit of sharp bitterness in the finish. Certainly tastes as advertised, tasty and interesting beer.
4.3 Good stuff. Plenty of chocolate and peanut butter and a bit of bitterness..
3.7 12 oz can pour dark brown with thin tan head aroma was heavy chocolate and peanut very nice, taste is peanut with roasted malt kinda watery good but if the taste matched the aroma it would have been awesome
1.4 Was expecting a much different taste for a chocolate peanutbutter porter not much of a peanut butter or chocolate taste more of a porter taste with a very faint hint of something not sure how to describe it.
2.9 12 oz. can, bought Oct. 16. Roasty malt smell as the beer pours. Close up, there’s also a lot of sweet chocolate smell. Solid black body with a thick head. Interesting, since I’d think peanut oil would kill head retention. Some peanut turns up in the nose after the first few sips. Starts out with a big chocolate taste, but swing further toward peanut butter, possibly with the sugar of peanut butter adding to the sweetness. Overall effects is, though, not really what I’d like in a beer. Reminds me of the Canfield’s Peanut Butter Fudge soda, which I just didn’t care for eaither. Knocking further points off for a nasty aftertaste.
3.3 12 oz can. Black with a decent beige head. Aroma is of pecan shells, cocoa, roasted malts, hazelnuts, roasted peanuts and toast. Taste is of cocoa, tons of hazelnut, roasted malt bitterness.
3.4 Bottle. The look is dark, tan head, brownish color with black tinges. The smell is peanut butter, malt, candyish, slightly stale, very nutty. The taste is similar, very nutty, some hops, and interesting.
4.0 Aroma: Peanuts, Malted Chocolate... Appearance: Dark Brown Hue, Passes Very Minimal Lacing, Off White Head Ring, Some Lacing... Taste: Chocolate, Peanuts, Peanut Shells... Mouthfeel: Decent Carbonation, Medium Bodied, Mildly Drying
3.8 Dark brown with a thin head and some lacing. Peanut butter, milk chocolate, and "whopper" candy nose. Malty with a full, lightly-carbonated mouthfeel and finishing with peanut butter, dark roast coffee, and milk chocolate.
