Rhubarb Saison

Brewed with renowned writer, Melissa Cole, author of bestseller "Let Me Tell You About Beer". We have used world famous Yorkshire rhubarb to add a hint of sourness. There is earthy spice from the Saison yeast, and fresh vanilla to bring out the sweet notes from a blend of Noble Central European hops. A rich golden colour, this naturally hazy Saison is truly a world beer, refreshing on the palate, with a long, satisfying bittersweet finish. Due to popular demand, Siberia will now join our permanent list in bottle and keg. Siberia is now exported and available in the US

3.7 Bottled. 25cl sample. The aroma has indeed rhubarb, hint of spice, bit earthy/dustynotes, light citrus. Golden/yellow coloured beer with a medium, white head. The taste is light bitter, light citric sourish, has some rhubarb, bit wine, bit spice. Nice one.
3.8 Butelka, warka do maja 2015, a wiec pita w ostatniej chwili waznosci ;) Niska, niebrzydka piana, szybko znikajaca, troche brudzaca szklo, piwo przejrzyste, jasne, zoltawo-zlote. Aromat w pierwszej chwili (z butelki) intensywny saisonowych drozdzy, pozniej delikatniejszy - troche łąkowy, troche przyprawowy (pieprzowe), troche owocowy (kapka cytryny, kapka winogron, costam jeszcze - moze to ten rabarbar?) - ladnie ulozony, lekki. Ocena potraktowana skryptem do przeliczania ocen (uzgodnienie UT/RB).
3.1 Takie sobie jasne malo metne piwo z minimalna pianka, nieciekawa etykieta. Zapach chmielny cytrusowy i lakowy zarazem. W smaku lekkie goryczkowe, cytrusowe. Takie pijalne, niemal sesyjne piwo.
3.0 Golden and bubbly. Light sour but not funky, simple malts, neither spicy nor characterful to be honest. Especially the taste is straightforward and dull. The lack of hops should have been solved by a fruitiness or tartness, but I can find those here. (Bottle from Wine Rack Leeds)
3.2 Keg at Craft Beer Rising. A clear golden colour with a thin white head. Aroma of saison yeast, definate rhubarb, tart apple and slight earthy hops. Taste of saison yeast, sour rhubarb, vanilla, tart apple and some custard notes. Light bodied, soft carbonation and an oily texture. Quite a tart, fruity finish. Nice flavours but not my thing.
3.4 Light golden colour with white head unfortunately very short but with small lacing. In aroma sweet, fruity and gentle. A bit wine, fruity and sweet in taste. Beer is light, well drinkable and has reallly nice sweet and wine flavour. You want to take next sip.
3.8 Bottle at home. Pours hazy orange, nose is rhubarb, floral, taste is sweet fruity rhubarb.
3.1 bottle. dirty golden with one finger head. slightly tart rhubarb notes. unique, but not amongst the best i’ve had of the style.
3.3 Golden in colour with a very slight white head, slightly sparkling in the glass. Smells quite sour and wheaty, nice and sour to taste and overall a nice drop.
3.6 Bottle. Rhubarb, lemon and malt aroam. Golden yellow with small head. Sweet tart rhubarb, malt and straw flavor. Nice beer - wish I could have gotten a fresher bottle, a bit oxidized.
3.5 Bottle: Pours hazy golden-orange with a quick white head. Very faint rhubarb, yeast, fruit aroma. Taste is sweet, vanilla, yeast, rhubarb. Nicely bitter-sour... Bright and refreshing.
3.2 500ml bottle. Clear, golden colour with small, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Spicy, yeasty aroma, a touch of mustard and brine, rhubarb with good will, grainy background. Taste is moderately sweet malty, minimally grainy, bready, biscuity, minimally fruity, maybe rhubarb, cautious herbal-spicy yeasty overtones, some hop bitterness. Nice but a bit lame.
3.3 Bottle from a wine store in Grassington. Pours golden with just a hint of pinkness and a thin white head. A very subtle hint of rhubard among farmy yeast notes, moderate spice, hay and hints of marzipan and vanilla. Light and refreshing. Decent.
3.5 Keg at Winterville Victoria Park, London. It pours a clean orange color with a medium white head. Aroma is medium sweet and medium bitter with grains hops leaves dried berries rhubarb and bread. Taste is medium sweet and bitter with light estery yeasty notes. Light to medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, quite tasty
2.6 Bottle at home. Pours clear pale orange with a small and rapidly dissipating white head with spare lacing. Aroma is lightly tart rhubarb, woody and earthy hops, sweet cedar and vanilla with light cracker malt and apple/pear esters. Flavor is sweet malt, lightly tart rhubarb, light woody hops and hop bitterness, vanilla, light oxidation notes and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.
3.5 Aroma: grains, light caramel. Appearance: clear gold, hardly any head. Taste: light bitter and sweet. Palate: sweets intensify, soft carbonation, grain malts. Overall: nice Saison, decent palate. Bottle at Balbacoa, St. Paul’s.
3.4 Meh. On tap at Rhubarb. Nothing special. Pours a light golden. Lots of bubbles, not much flavour. Light drinking saison with rhubarb barely there. Somewhat citrusy and yeasty. Belgian notes and light spice. Not bad, just boring. Not a huge help with my quest to be open minded different styles of beer.
3.3 Cask gravity at the Watford Beer Festival 2012. Poured a cloudy ochre, with a scummy white head. Aroma of tart fruit, lemon zest and Belgian yeast. Citrus flavour, with some grass and chalk. Finish was bread, esters and raisins.
2.8 500ml bottle. Pours deep golden color. Aroma of fruit, touch of strawberry essence. Pale grains, hay/straw flavor. Finishes with heavy Saison bread notes. (4248)
2.6 Little sign of the saison yeast on the nose, hints of the rhubarb, but also quite a sweet finish.
3.1 Nice aroma of rhubarb and bubblegum although a touch sickly. Pale amber in colour. Bubblegum and rose flavours to start with then alcohol and Belgium yeast.
3.7 500ml bottle into a nonic. Pours a crystal clear medium gold with a small half-finger white head. Quite unusual for a Saison as I was expecting a nice, big, billowy head. The head retention and lacing are pretty good, though. Immediately in the aroma the fruitiness from the rhubarb is noticeable. Very nice creamy Belgian notes along with a touch of toast and caramel. Definitely can tell this is a saison but it has some uniqueness. The flavor closely follows the aroma with lots of fruit that stands out. Peach and strawberry along with maybe a bit of cherry. Spicy belgian yeasty notes along with more light toast. Some light tartness coupled with some sweetness on the finish. This one lacks that dry crispness I’ve come to look for in the style. Overall, a nice take on a saison and very unique coming from an English brewer. Almost an English/Belgian hybrid. While this beer doesn’t quite hold true to the style, the end result is definitely worth seeking out.
3.3 Bottle at home, clear golden very little diminishing head, hints of rhubarb, clear crisp refreshing very drinkable. Slightly sour but not over noticeable.
3.4 From the growler. Pours a dark gold with little head. Earthy, spicy, Belgian yeast notes and noble hops in aroma. Smooth clean malt with tart, spicy notes in the taste. Clean and tasty.
3.1 Bottle from Village Wine and Spirits. Light caramel nose, gentle ripe peaches, and a touch a farmy stuff. Clear bright gold straw, thin filmy head. Sweet fruity initial, soft bready notes, some sugar, and mild grass/hay in finish. Medium body. The saison character is quite muted; seems more like a bitterish blonde. Don’t get the rhubarb, really. Very sweet for a saison.
3.1 A nice light flavored beer I wouldn’t say it’s my type of style it hasn’t got a big enough hit for me, but it’s not unpleasant at all and the 5.9% is masked very well
3.1 Orange tinted golden color. Small white head. No lacing. Malty aroma with a yeasty note. Taste is sweet malt with a slight bitter bite. No rhubarb.
3.2 Bottle@Yesprs (21/03/2014) - golden coloured pour with white head. Sweet malty yeasty, grassy, floral, lemongrass.
2.8 Draft - Toast and jam. Clearish gold with a nice white head. Banana and light nondescript fruit tartness. I get some lacto creaminess and pale malts. Not enough oomph in this.
3.2 Tap at Mother Kelly's. Pours a gold colour with a white head. Slightly dusty, dry aroma with a little caramel. Light body, medium carbonation. A little lemon, some berries, a hint of butterscotch... Just OK.
