Indslev Svane Hvede

Indslev Svane Hvede

Svane Hvede is refreshing, fruity, and full of inviting notes of citrus, banana, and cloves. Enjoy it as a thirst quencher for workdays and parties. Put it on the table when you want to make your lunch even better or serve it with light dishes from the Danish summer kitchen. The recipe is from Bayern, where our brewmaster Stefan Peter Stadler was educated as a brewer 30 years ago. Serve the beer directly from the refrigerator. Serve the beer in wheat beer glasses and take your time serving it. Shake the last of the beer before pouring.

2.2 Murky, carbonated banana juice. Smells like banana, other boring plain fruits, malt, malt and cane sugar. Taste of ripe bananas, dung ridden straw and mummifies your throat in a soft coating of sugar. Will not write home about this.
2.4 Fairly standard wheat beer, but without particularly Belgian or German notes...
2.7 Bottle @ home. Aroma of banana-yeast and wheat, sweet-ish. Hazy amber golden, big white head, mostly lasting. Moderate- sweetness, light bitterness. Light body, soapy texture, average carb., medium long finish.
3.0 It has close creamy foam, and a slightly darker shade than expected. It smells and tastes nice of wheat malts typical freshness of newly harvested grains and coriander and banana notes. Some hefe might be a little too sweet in length, but this has a slightly hoppy end to smooth out the sweetness in the finish. Light spicy notes are present in the aftertaste and it is a delicate and tasty hefe which easily bears comparison with the major German equivalent hefe.
2.8 0,5 l bottle. Simple but nice label. Unclear pale orange, very small head. Banana, clove and yeast on the nose. Taste is more sweet orange fruity. Little bit dry yeast and wheat. Not very crisp, more watery finish.
2.9 Tap@Taphouse, Copenhagen (16/07/2015) - yellow golden pour with white head. Sweet malty and wheaty aroma and taste, citrus lemony, some doughy yeasts, grassy hop nuance, banana, some spices (clove) into the finish.

2.8 Bottle, 50cl. Pours hazy yellow golden color with small off-white head. Nose is yeast, banana, clove, floral, green apples, spices and little citrus. Taste is sweet with yeast, ripe bananas and candy. Quite sweet aftertaste, low bitterness. Medium bodied, sticky texture and mouthfeel, average carbonation. Typical weizen. Not much to report.
2.5 Copenhagen 21/5 2015. 50 cl bottle from Fakta. Pours slightly hazy yellow with small white head. Dissipates immediately. Aroma is of wheat and a little candylike. Carbonation is subdued. Taste follows the nose. Very distinct wheat - sweetish and candylike. Aftertaste is rather sweet as well with almost no bitterness. Quite fine if you are into Weiss beer. But I miss my hops.
3.3 0.5 bottle. Hazy, orange color and a small, white head. Strong aroma of bananas, yeasts, flowers, some bubblegum, and delicate spices. The taste is also sweet and fruity but apart from the bananas, yeasts, and bubblegum it also features cloves and grains. Medium body, slick texture, and average carbonation. Finish is quite typical for a weizen - sweet and full of wheat and bananas. Overall a standard hefeweizen, nothing great about it.

3.1 Bottle. Pours hazy darkish yellow with airy white head. Clear aroma of yeast, hops and banana. Sweetish, estery and bananalike flavour, with not very pleasant bitter, hoppy and metallic notes. Estery and grainy finish. Acceptable.
3.0 Very wholesome and powerful wheat. Lasting aftertaste. Could easily been balanced with a bit more alcohol (4.8 abv)

3.1 23-AUG-2013, bottle @home, from Kvickly. Hzy orange with quickly dying white head. Yeasty aroma with banana and toast. Taste is toasted, banana, peach, orange peel. Medium body but turns a bit watery. That makes the carbonation a bit rough. OK and tasty.
2.7 Uklar gulbrun farge. Lite skum og lite kullsyre. Lukter hvete og noe sitrus. Kort finish. Noe tam for min smak...
