Inglorious Brew Stars Inglorious Quad

Black strong beer with a very complex aroma. This beer get its fruity character from the malts and yeasts used and a herbal character from the added herbs and hops. The unique aroma continues in the taste, whereby the malt bitterness and a nice roasted taste give it a little extra.

3.1 Bottle (33 cl) from Systembolaget. Black with beige head. Intense roasted malt aroma; coffee, tar, gunpowder, salmiak. Full bodied, mediumcarbonation. Dry, medium bitterness, some acidity.

3.9 Bottled from Systembolaget Dark brown. Medium, Brief, tan head. Sweet and vinous. Roasted with brown sugar. Spicy with liquorice.
3.5 Flasks. God öl men ingen typisk quad.
3.5 Almost black with small remaining head. Raisin aroma. Dry malt and raisin taste.
3.6 Black stuff with a huge tan head Good lacing Good intensity in the aroma A bit rich carbonation level and an oily texture Still a decent sweetness Dark malt, dried fruits, roast, mild vinous and some spices in the flavor [Bottle at Jostein 19]
3.5 @ Havregatan 20191222. Bottle (330 ml) from Systembolaget. Roasted malty, caramely and light spicy with dried fruits, dark fruits and licorice, sweet, medium body with an oily texture. The finish is bitter.
3.6 Bottle 33 cl. Pours completely opaque black with a dense and creamy cappuchinoish head with a good retention and lacework. Subtle estery nose, you can sense the Belgian yeast and what is about to come. Rich, sweet body, lots of friendly phenols, jammy, dried dark fruit. Far from the most complex Quad, but it's nice and pleasant with a high drinkability and the booze well hidden. 121219
3.7 Dark brown color, small brown head. Aromas of chocolate, brown sugar, dried figs, spices and alcohol. Taste of chocolate, dried fruit, brown sugar, alcohol and spices.
4.4 I will be drinking a 33 cl bottle of Inglorious Quad acquired from a Belgian seller that assists me with the beers I cannot get in the states. The glass is my Trappistes Rochefort that I like for quadrupels. It arrives a dark caramel in color finished with a disappearing, autumn tan head. A significant carbonation replenishes. The smell is appreciated by a quad fan like myself, figs, raisins, burnt sugar and multi-grain bread. And the taste? Really, really good. Dark raisins, dates, toffee, honey, sorghum, malt and sweet berry. It feels dense in the mouth, very full. I am pleased to have this one.
3.6 330ml bottle. Opaque, quasi black colour with slightly late awakening, small to average, thick, frothy, fading, tan head. Roasty, chocolately, dark malty and yeasty fruity, slightly spicy and vinous aroma, notes of dark chocolate, dried fruit, raisin, plum, hints of juniper berry. Taste is sweet-ish, roasty, chocolately dark malty, yeasty fruity, slightly alcoholic, hints of raisin, plum, a touch of juniper berry, mild bitter hoppy counterpart.
3.6 Bottle, pours dark brown almost black color. Flavor of malts, dark fruits, vanilla, raisin, plums, alcohol, sugar, herbs. Taste is quite full with dark fruits, herbs and sweetness, medium bitterness. Not too sweet even with sugar, but quite herbal. On the dry side.
4.1 Very dark brown with a slight red hue. Big tan head and medium to high carbonation. First lots of roasted notes. Coffee, dark chocolate and roasted malt. Later the taste reveals a lot more dark fruit, yeast and a slight sourness. Nice and quite different quad
3.9 Creamy tan head stayed on a rich dark oak body. Liquorice, malt & dark fruit aroma. Medium bodied, creamy & light on the palate. Dark berries, sweet citrus, fruit juice, demerara, dried fruit & malt tastes. Very little alcohol presence - dangerous!
3.9 (Draught at Gollem, Antwerpen, 18 Oct 2018) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Malty nose with caramel, liquorice, anise, dark fruit, roasted malt and dark chocolate. Malty taste with notes of caramel, liquorice, anise, dark chocolate, herbs, burnt sugar and a mild herbal bitterness. Full body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty, complex and powerful. Still very well balanced. Very nice.
4.1 Quad very good. Colore marrone molto. Scuro con schiuma. Beige ampia e fine.
3.6 Keg at the gollem. A dark black brown coloured pour with a a light tan head, dried fruits, black sugars, apple, liquorice.. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, dried fruits, nutty, complex malts,. Palate is semi sweet, moderate carbonation, easy. Good quad.
3.6 Keg at Gollem, Antwerp, 07/12/18. Black with a decent tan covering that dissipates to a handsome swirl. Nose is fruit cake, booze fumes, sticky toffee, liquorice, dates. Taste comprises light black peppery spice, dried fruits, fruit cake mix, prunes, dates, earthy, light smoke, tangy. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Decent well rounded quad.
3.8 On tap. Pours black with full head. Aromas of dark fruit and light smoked malts. Flavors of oily roasted malts, dried dark fruit and burnt sugar. Herbal? Maybe. Quad? I don’t think so, more stout... Quite nice overall.

3.5 330mml. bottle as part of the "Euro Summer Santa 2018", many thanks to the Beerhunter for this one. Tasted on the 09/08/2018 at "Parcelas". Black brown color with a small and lasting off-white head. Aroma is full of brown sugar, sweet caramelish malts, molasses and cola. Taste is licorice, brown sugar, cola, caramel and some herbal hops. Finish is medium sweet with a big presence of cola. Next one please!
3.7 Black colored beer with a small white cup. Thick body. Taste is malty, chocolate, sweet with floury hop flavors.
3.9 330ml bottle pours almost black with thick creamy tan head. Aromas of dark chocolate, brown sugar and espresso. Tastes of dark malts, mocha, cherry ripe, dark fruit, tobacco, molasses, liquorice, barrel oak and bourbon. Creamy mouthfeel with low carbonation. The 10.3% alc vol is reasonably well hidden. Long finish with mild espresso bitterness and residual sugar. Hard to fault.
3.8 Poors dark, nearly black with nice, lasting mocha head. Aroma: slight plums, soft coffee roast, chocolate, creamy vanilla, light alcohol. Taste creamy yeasty, vanilla but sweetish like icecream, chocolate roasted, banana, sweetish, metallic hoppy finish. Thick MF. Good depth but after a while, I find the yeasty taste too dominating, heavy too.
