4.1 Söt fyllig smak, bra beska
3.1 Pitch black with a beige-brown head. Aroma is roast and a hint of Whiskey. Taste is roasted malts, a hint of vanilla, mild bitterness.
3.7 Can from Edmonton liquor store after braving subzero temps. Pours a classic dark brown with a huge, tan head that lasts. Aroma is whiskey barrel and lightly sweet, dark malt. Mild flavor with lightly sweet chocolate and coffee and just a hint of whiskey. Surprisingly nice honestly.
3.4 Black beer, lively light tan head. Malty chocolate aroma. Flavour has chocolate, malt, woodiness, a bit of aniseed, a bit of whiskey booziness. I still can't quite get on board with Innis and Gunn's balance with their beers but I don't mind this but the ageing and scotch should add to the flavour, not be the flavour.
3.7 Dark and full, the coffee chocolate flavors come through as sweet and desserty without being too much or syrupy
4.2 Bottle from Systembolaget. Whisky and smoked aroma. Gorgeous stout colour with lasting foam. Vanilla, smoke, some tmavy. Mature smoked bitter finish. Extremely drinkable and surprisingly brilliant offering.
4.0 It poured a black cola color with a tan head. The aroma has a light roasted malt note with vanilla, chocolate and roasted coffee bean. The
3.8 Very dark brown with a two-finger, tan head. Aroma is oak, whiskey and roasted grains. Taste was very complex with dried fruit, oak, whiskey, chocolate and vanilla.
3.2 Old notes from 29-07-14. A 330ml bottle named as Irish Whiskey Finish, ABV is 7.4. Pours a near black with a beige head. Aromas & tastes of coffee, chocolate, whiskey, nuts, roasted malt. Medium body. Warm whiskey finish. Decent
3.5 Bottle. Pours almost black with an average tan head. Aroma of chocolate, whiskey, and malt. Taste is chocolate, whiskey barrel, coffee, and roasted malt. Pretty good.
3.7 Poured a very dark brown with a medium tan head which was gone quickly.........aroma of chocolate, mineral, touch of whiskey......taste is smooth, subtle whiskey, chocolate, nothing overwhelms and is easy drinking.......given time, as it opens up the whiskey comes to the fore....definitely let it open.
3.3 This was the current 6.1% Irish whiskey barrel aged stout. The flavour of the Irish whiskey is not as prominent as the flavours from some of the other Innis and Gunn beers that are barrel aged. For example, it is a lot more subtle than the rum barrel aged beer, which I was a lot more impressed with than this. Nevertheless, it is an ok stout, with a touch of Irish whiskey flavour detectable, though you have to look for it and it does not slap you in the face. All the typical stout flavours of chocolate and coffee present, and there is also a bit of a lactic tang that you don’t always get in stout.
3.9 The bottle fooled me - I was expecting a lager and was delighted to discover this was a barrel-aged stout. Thin body, low carbonation, some vanilla, chocolate, a hint of whiskey.
3.2 Charcoal nose. Black, thin tan head. Charcoal, plum skin. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Whiskey not detected.
3.8 Coffee. Toast. Toffee. Vanilla. Black with a dense rocky light tan foam head. Good retention. Medium bodied. Smooth. Vanilla sweet. Coffee and cocoa bitter. Just a touch of whiskey. Very nice.
3.5 Kind of porterish in feel and flavor. Chocolate, roasty coffee, slightly whiskey finish. Flatter carbonation feel. Good flavor...maybe a bit too much going on for what I expected. Actually reminds me of a thinner version of Bell's Hell Hath No Fury.
3.6 Aroma: oaky, whiskey & malt (no smoke) Appearance: dark brown, small head Flavour: sweet choc malt with some oaky notes Palate: thick and lingering malty sweetness
3.8 Bottle at home. Its pours black with a tan head that disappears very quickly. The aroma is coffee followed by some Irish whiskey. The flavor is sweet coffee with very subtle whiskey. This is good, I wish that there was more of an Irish whiskey flavor.
3.8 2014 rating. Pours a small frothy beige head and has a dark brown appearance with ruby highlights. Decent lace. Mild aromas of malts, vanilla and very subtle whiskey hints. Flavours of raisins, roasted malts, slight smokey notes, a bit of chocolate and a tiny bit of whiskey. Sort of like grapes in the finish. Somewhat of a syrupy mouthfeel, light creaminess. Slick oily sensation on the palate. This one's pretty good and quite easy going down.
4.0 On tap at the brass rail. Pours a dark shade with a tan head smooth and silky with a nice warm finish.
3.6 Bottle. Poured a black color with an average frothy tan head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate roasted chocolate malt and soft alcohol aroma. Medium dark sweet malt flavor with a medium dark sweet finish of moderate duration. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is a good beer.
3.4 Woody roasty aroma Pours black with fluffy brown head Roasty woody flavors, coffee and bitter cocoa, a very light whisky note. Medium bodied with medium co2, lingering roast in finish Great stout, mediocre barrel aged stout. Hardly taste any whisky or barrel flavors. Would like to try side by side with stout.
4.5 Definitely one of best Scottish Ales I have tried. One of few that I find comparable to GK Willies from Black Ice Brewing. Prominent chocolate malt, hints of vanilla and dry fruit. Whiskey and oak are also present but not overpowering.
2.5 Bottle, early 2017. Vanilla, light coconut, red berries, very faint roasted note. Sweet while the body is light, the finish short and the flavour watery. Mediocre.
3.7 Draft taproom. Pours clear brown with a sizeable beige head. Aroma is cherry, wood, alcohol. Flavor is earthy, woody, tart cherry, whiskey. Pretty nice.
3.8 I found this beer in my basement and I think it's time to try. Pours black with a thin off white head. Aroma is up roasted malts a bit of chocolate and a hint of whiskey. Taste of Irish whiskey but it's not overpowering it's still really good, smooth. Overall a lot easier to drink than a lot of American barrel-aged beers but it's retired so I guess I won't drink it again.
2.8 dark brown with a tan head. aroma is sweet whiskey and malts. taste is malts and whiskey. A year old.
3.8 #1758 Many thanks to shopkeeper from Abbot's Ale House for this sweet memory. Bottle. Clear, rubbish black, almost without head. Aroma of caramel, whiskey, raisins, dates, vanilla and chocolate. Taste is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Whiskey, walnuts, raisins, dates and another dried dark fruits, nougat, alcohol and wild almonds in finish. Medium body, low carbonation, but still pleasantly warming. Very good, enjoyable.

3.0 11.2oz bottle. Pours dark brown with a moderate creamy tan head. Aroma is wood, whiskey residue, faint vanilla, tobacco, and some soap. Taste is caramel, some whiskey, wood, light fudgy chocolate, and a little grain. Lightly bitter finish - with lots of boozy whiskey. Light-medium body. Average carbonation. Watery-oily mouthfeel.
