1.6 Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. Aroma- Very weak smelling concoction, it smells like a watered down left over beer from the night before. Appearance- A very pale golden yellow. Taste- Non-descript at best, very watery Palate- A light bodied beer that has some medium carbonation Overall- Well, this is off my list of beers to try. At least I get the beer credit for drinking one. I will not drink this again.
1.6 Bottle from Binny’s in Schaumburg, IL. Clear pale gold pour with minimal head. Corn and metal, picking up a mild hint of malt likka character as well. This isn’t good at all.
1.4 "More corn like the original but a little less heavy on the adjuncts. I like that better, but it’s feel is way too watery and there is no follow through on the aroma or flavor."
1.3 Pounder can outside of Stinky’s. Pale yellow clear pour. Floaty white head. Metallic, wet cereal, wet cardboard aroma. Taste is metallic and just all around pretty disgusting. Preference goes to Bud light.
1.9 DATE REVIEWED: August 2, 2014... GLASSWARE: ballpark see-through plastic... OCCASION: perfect night for a ballgame and some beers with brother Jer in State College...APPEARANCE: thick, white creamy head; yellow body with some cascading bubbles...meh... AROMA: vague hints of water hose, hay and malt liquor ping....with a hint of beer pong ball... PALATE: light bodied, with a retreating aftertaste--has peanut-rinsing potential... TASTE: middling malts mingle with water to produce...mostly water, with a warming fuzz not appropriate to its ABV...not much else can be deduced... OVERALL: I went cheaper at the Spikes game and got four more ounces for a dollar less than the Robin Hood IPA...and not surprisingly, I regretted the change.. this beer needs to be chased with an activity that involves strong-tasting fare; otherwise, I wouldn’t drink this unless visiting Pittsburgh where the locals embrace its quirks and flaws....
2.5 Like all lite largers good on a hot day and no abc.think lite beer and you got this one. Not bad for what it is.
2.5 Transfer from BA review on 4-29-12- Poured from bottle into pint glass Appearance – Pours a light golden color with a one figure pure white head. The head faded fast to leave a surprising amount of lacing for a light beer (although lacking when compared to most other brews). Smell – Almost no aroma at all. Just a very light corn. Taste – A light breadiness is on the tongue throughout. There is some corn upfront which fades giving way to a very light caramel sweetness. At the very end the tiniest bit of citrus seems to work its way in along with some more papery tastes as well. Mouthfeel – A light body with a medium to high level of carbonation. Pretty standard light beer. Overall - More flavorful the average light beer with a better look as well. If you want a light beer this is one to have from time to time.
1.5 A run of the mill light beer. Slight maltiness, crisp, lots of carbonation. I like it better than regular Iron City.
1.0 This was a bad beer as I expected it to be, but it had a Pirates logo on it so I had to get one.
2.0 Bottle: Pours clear, pale gold with a small white head. Light grain, corn malt aroma. Corn...malts...grain flavours. Less sweet than the regular version, less fruity, but more crisp.... Neutral feeling. Watery, but ok for a light beer.
0.8 @ Jungle Jims / Eastgate OH --- Clear light amber with no head or lace. Taste is carbonation first, adding some adjunct and perhaps some malt in there somewhere. There is a sour overtone that accompanies this. Taste continues straight-forward right through the finish. Suprisingly weak brew, even for an old-time lightweight.
2.1 A friend got me this while we were roaming the Pittsburgh bars. I have already had a bunch of the regular and this brew wasn’t far off. Clear yellowish color, almost no head.
1.9 Just a terrible light beer. Not much flavor not much hopps. Pours almost clear and smells like hopps.
1.8 12oz bottle. Pours a golden color with a minimal white head that quickly dissipates. Smell has faint hints of grains and malt. Taste is light grains and malt and maybe a hint of hops. Light body and medium carbonation.
2.5 13 June 2013, bottle. pale yellow, clear, steady bubbles. nose is slightly sweet, some bitter skunkiness. thin body and mildly fizzy. tastes very watery, slightly earthy, faint lemon pith. really nondescript. meh.
4.1 Great tasting beer...refreshing on a hot day. Best among domestic light beers. ---cdeutz
2.6 This beer tastewise ain’t worth the dirt on a pitching mound but the Pirates cans are awesome! It taste like any other light beer but the cans are as great as Sofia Vergara cans.
1.0 12oz can. Pours a pale yellow color with a small amount of fizzy head. Light malty/watery flavor. Not much aroma.
1.9 Bottle. Very light golden color. Head dissipates in minutes. Avgerage light lager taste. Yinz favorite.
1.5 From memory. Draft. Pale yellow lager. Skunky, with grains and corn. Not good, but better than the usual national light lagers.
1.0 Bottle. Pours a very light and clear golden color with a thin head. Tastes like a cheap shitty lager. It’s a bit more flavorful than the huge macrobrews, but it’s not a good flavor. Skunky.
1.9 Draft at Primanti Brothers in Downtown Pittsburgh, served in a big glass with a mug handle. Pours a clear pale gold with surprisingly no head and just a few bubbles. Wasn’t flat on the palate, though; showed medium carbonation to go with its light mouthfeel. Not much to the aroma or flavor, just a light pale lager with some grains, corn, straw. Light and inoffensive, seems to achieve what it sets out to do.
1.6 12 oz bottle: More flavor than Bud Light but less smooth. Not bad for a buck.
0.8 beer is pure skunk with flavor of corn and rice. its too carbonated with no flavor at all. instant drain pour.
2.2 Probably one of my more expensive lager ticks, bought at the airport bar in pittsburgh international ($6) and then tipped ($2) because the bartender let me take it with me without opening it .. . 12oz can, emblazoned with the pittsburgh pirates uniform colours .. . simple gold . simple foam .. . light corn and bitter hay .. slick bitter mouthfeel .. decent for a light lager but nothing i’d ever want again... . feelin good lewis!
2.1 Steel city's version of bud light. Tastes like it too. Earlier Rating: 3/11/2012 Total Score: 2.1 Steel city's version of bud light. Tastes like it too.
2.3 From a bottle poured a pale yellow color with a small amount of head. Light malty flavor with a quick finish.
3.0 Overall a great beer for BBQ’s, or to just sit back and kick it after a long day, Not too sharp and doesn’t have the old beer aftertaste.
2.6 I’m not going to give an extensive review. I just had this on tap in Pittsburgh and it was a crisp, light beer. Better than most macro light beers. Pretty enjoyable at a work function.
2.2 Bottle at PIT, clear yellow wIth no head, lighter corn and sweet malty aRoma and flavor
