3.5 "Irseer Kloster-Urtrunk", 5,4 %, Flasche von Getränkefeinkost, MD-Buckau. - Goldbraun, trüb. - In der Nase überreife Frucht, Weizenbier-artig, und karamellig-brotiges Malz. - Antrunk hefig weich karamelmalzig-brotig mit feiner reifer Frucht: Pfirsich, Mandarine. Deutliche Süße. Feine herbale Hopfenherbe. Milder rezent, frisch & vollmundig. Im Abgang länger anhaltende Kräuterherbe. - Sehr aromatisches, rundes Zwickel in Exportbierstärke. (28.7.2019.)
4.1 Munich 2018. Thank you Jonas! 500 ml. bottle sampled. Amber orange, soapy white head. Nose is apple juice, apple cores, cinnamon, mineral. Tastes like apple cores in a good way, bit thin but nice cinnamon apple, yeast, juice, spice, very interesting & nice.
3.4 Bottle at home. Hazy golden body with a medium white head. Malt, bread, hay, cardboard. Decent.
3.0 Hazy yella gold, lots of foam. Fresh baked bread aroma. Really sweet malty beer, a bit too sweet. The sweet bready basement taste that lingers is actually enjoyable, but the initial taste isnt very good. Sad I couldnt taste the original which was apparently more of a doppelbock than a zwickel.
3.0 0.5l bottle. Clear dark golden body with a white head. Aroma and taste of bread, grains, hay, sugar syrup and some spicy hops. OK beer.
2.7 Trübes gelb schaum Ok, malzig würzig getreidig im Geruch etwas laff malzig würziger Geschmack, etwas langweilig...
2.5 0,5l Flasche. Dunkelgelbes Bier, kaum Schaum. Malz Getreideduft. Ein Hauch Bieene. Wässeriger Antrunk. Malz, Metall.
3.2 500 ml bottle. Pours dirty bright brown, small head, not long lasting. Aroma is musty like it matured in a old moist cellar. Bread, grain. Mild taste, slightly sweet and even less bitter. Süffig. Soft to low carbonated. Creamy texture, full body. Nice authentical Zwickel.
2.8 0,5 l Flasche. Bernsteibfarbenes, trübes Bier, cremeweißer Schaum. Riecht getreidig, leicht muffig. Schmeckt malzig, getreidig. Etwas stumpf.
2.6 Hazy golden with a thin white head that dilapidates quickly. Rather mild in taste, some fruit, some grain, not too special.
3.1 Hazy golden color with a soapy, fine but short lasting head. Light on the nose. Fresh, slightly bitter taste with short palate. Sweet(ish) aftertaste. Good thirstcruncher.
3.5 Bottle 50cl. poured into a footed pilsner glass. Light sourish nose; clear deep golden, lot of activity in the glass, tall rocky white head, very good retention, heavy lacing; aroma grain, light citrus, yeast, floral hops, grass, buttermilk, barnyard; taste medium sweet and light bitter, malty, grainy, light hops, touch of lemon; rather flat sweetbitter aftertaste, light fruit, peppery notes; light to medium body, watery texture, soft carbonation; very pleasant Zwickel, well-balanced and tasty.
3.2 0.5 l bottle from ’P&M Getränke’, best before August 2017. Clear, golden yellow with a medium large, foamy, stable, white head. Sweetish, malty and slightly floral aroma of honey, caramel and hints of vanilla. Sweetish-malty, slightly floral and a little grassy taste of honey, vanilla, some caramel, traces of straw and hints of butter, followed by a short, slightly bitter, a bit grassy-spicy finish. Medium body, slightly creamy and a bit effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Decent Lager!
3.1 bottle courtesy of SinH4, thanks a lot for tirelessly supplying me with German ZKL! Initial impression is not great, nose has some basement mold type smell. But nice mix with a lot of grain and some summer hay. Especially in the taste and aftertaste much of the grainy and barley aroma becomes apparent. The finish isn’t particularly long lasting and surprisingly sweet without any perceivable hop bitterness. Overall this doesn’t really come together for me, especially the sweet finish doesnt convince me to seek out another one.
3.3 Bottle, courtesy of SinH4. Pours clear golden. Aroma is grassy hops, some buttery, sweet malts, a bit citric. Body is light, rather sweet, soft bitterness and texture. Some flowers and honey. Palate is medium and sweet. Good.
3.5 Hazy yellow with minimal white head. Aroma is grass, flour, a little of light fruits, very balanced. Taste is little fresh sourness and some buttery sweetness. Also some malts. Not quite enough tartness for me. Little carbonation, quite smooth. I like it.
2.7 0,5l bottle at home courtesy of amazngwrldfood. BB 12/2016. orange hazy color, small white head. smells grainy, tobacco, light flowery, bit dusty, light cardboard, ok smell. medium body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes sweet, light tobacco, light cardboard, bit peppery. finishes lightly dry with notes of cardboard and peppery notes. okish but not the biggest fan.
3.7 Bottle, thanks jonas! Hazy golden color with white head. Aroma is caramely, bready, yeasty, nutty, a bit straw. Taste is caramel, malty, bready yeasts, a bit nutty, a bit herbal, a hint of booze. Quite chewy for this ABV. Silky mouthfeel. Lecker and underrated, if you ask me.
3.4 Nur leicht kohlensäurehaltiges Kellerbier. Leichter Malzgeschmack und gewisses Brotaroma.
2.7 500ml bottle at home in Munich. Aroma is light nuts, light floral. Appearance is cloudy orange with a light, fast decreasing foam. Taste is light sweet. OK.
3.2 Old notes. From bottle. Cloudy amber color. Head quickly disappearing. Aroma’s: fruit(y), malts, a bit dusty. Flavor is light malty sweet. Light bodied.
3.3 Aromas of bread and wheat with some citrus. Pours cloudy orange with a big white head, small bubbles dissipating pretty quickly. Tastes of apricot and rye bread some yeast. A nice lingering sour finish. Very oily mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Quite drinkable. Need to try more kellerbier.
2.8 Bottle. Clear yellow color, bright white head. Aroma of light lemon and subtle straw. Taste is light peppery and slightly papery citrus, lightly bitter finish. Not bad.
3.0 500ml Flasche. Leicht trüb und golden. Mittelgrosse Schaumkrone, schnell verschwindend. Würziges Aroma. Milder, süsser Geschmack.
