3.3 Appearance is ruby, clear, with a half-finger clingy beige head. Aroma is nutty, caramel malt, brown bread, raisiny traces, more nutty malt, bit of chocolate. Taste- full, nutty and malty, chestnut, bready malt, dark fruit traces, smooth but slightly fluffy in the mouth.
3.3 Good but not smooth enough :)
3.2 Creamy light brown head stayed on dark reddish brown still body. Berry, sweet fruit & confectionery aroma. Medium bodied, smooth over the tongue with a tingly. Tangy fruit tastes with sweet berries, malt, bread & mild hops.
3.3 Clear, copper colored, medium off white head. Malty, bit toffee and toasty, some fruity notes, medium sweet malt, moderate bitterness, dry finish, bit nutty. Medium- bodied, soft carbonation, oily.
3.3 29Jun2019 Floral notes, fruit compote, bittersweet grain malts, resin, pine. Clear brown, small, creamy, off-white head. Light bitter. More floral notes, bitter marmalade, red berry compote, soft carbonation, medium bodied. Fairly decent for the style. Bottle from Co-op Food.
2.9 Bottle in Scotland, pouring clear brown with a tan head. Hardly any aroma; maybe in beginning indeed some faint nutty tones, but later away; not even malts. Taste is caramel and dried fruits; moderate sweet, soft bitter. This is an easy, well-balanced, but rather non-descript beer. Because of the name one would expect a reddish beer with red fruits, but nope...
3.0 Pours a brown-Amber with suds of white head. Toasted malt aroma and taste, not sweet but a bit of red apple notes. Notes: on cask at the Bosville, Portree Scotland, June ‘19
3.0 Ok till köttgryta.
2.7 On cask at The Captain James Lang, Dumbarton. Pours a amber red with a white head. Aroma: biscuity malt, toffee, dried fruit, lemon, mild caramel and grainy notes. Taste: mild biscuity malt, mild toffee, mild dried fruit. This was thin and watery. It smelt better than it tasted. This was pretty average.
2.8 Aus der Flasche 2015-05 getrunken. Eine schöne Kombination aus Frucht und Hopfenbitterkeit mit leichte Malzaroma.
3.1 Bottle , smallish head, clear deep red color, aroma of caramel, biscuit and dark fruit, biscuity flavor with a light bitterness and a light pleasant sweetness. Nice but quite simple.
3.3 Cask at Westford Inn North Uist. Clear amber colour with off white head. Light caramel malts red hue beer
3.5 Isle of Skye Red 4.2%. Dark red, dark fruit and caramel aroma, light bodied, dark malt, dark fruit, dried fruit, raisins, spices. Lovely Red Ale from Uig, Isle of Skye 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
3.3 Clear dark redish brown, rich and creamy lacing, lasting foam. Caramel aroma and taste, malty too. (Portree 201806)
4.5 Great for me 很惊艳的一款啤酒,虽然评分不好,但个人很喜欢,夹杂着在Skye的宝贵回忆
3.2 Bottle. Pours dark copper with thin head. Aroma of malts and roast. Taste is very mild and warm around malty and some fruity flavors. Very distant honey, without tasting too sweet. Has no bitter elements.
3.7 Cask at the old inn, near talisker distillery, Scotland. Nice ale, low carbonation, amber colour, pleasant and bitter
2.8 A half from cask. Red colour with little head. Toffee and caramel mild. Not my bag I'm afraid
2.8 Slightly fruity aroma. Dark caramel color with a malty and slightly nutty taste. More like a nut brown ale than a red ale. Smooth with a nice finish.
2.3 Frisch gezapft. Dunkelbraun und klar mit kleiner Schaumkrone. Malzig mit leichten Karamellnoten. Leichter Körper. Wenig Geschmack.
1.8 Cask at Uig Hotel Skye. Pours clear darkish red with small white head. Minimal aroma to speak of. Taste has some mild hop bitterness and a bit of caramel malt. Very thin and flat mouthfeel. Not much of anything really. First and last time for this one.
3.1 Fat. Klar rödbrun med ett stort smutsvitt skum. Dofter och smaker av malt, nöt, röd frukt och smör. Len och mjuk munkänsla.
3.4 Bottle from Asda Aberdeen. A very flavourful porter but unexpectedly malty and dark.
2.9 Bottle. Tawny Red in colour. Malty; grainy/toasty malts, caramel. Fruity; raisins and dark fruits. Hoppy; grassy hops. Hint of smoke. Rather cloying mouthfeel. Bitter sweet malty throughout. (2009-05)
1.4 Didn’t enjoy this at all. Thought I had a bad bottle until I read the other reviews concerning the sour aftertaste. Shame as I’d had a lovely Scottish Red ale a few days before and was hoping for similar quality.
3.4 From bottle at OSB 30.11.16. Chestnut brown. Foamy and persistent beige head and lacing. Aroma of medium dark malt, brittle and red fruits. Similar taste. Good quaffability!
3.3 Aroma; roasted malts, grass, walnut, caramel, sweet wood, dark berries. Look; pearl head, dark copper body. Taste; brown malts, roasted malts, caramel, grass, toffee n nougat n wood note - finishes into the malty side. Feel; normal body, natural carbonation. Overall; likeable. 3.0 Bottle 500ml. Red-brown with a thin white head. A fairly standard mild bitter, some malty notes low on the hops. Aftertaste is a bit sour. Good with food, but not something I’d drink on its own for pleasure...
