Belgian Style Tripel using same Abbey Yeast. Monster aromas and sweet flavors coming from the yeast and a huge amount of Belgian Candi Sugar. Ingredients: Weyermann Pilsner Malt, Belgian Candi Sugar, Saaz Hops.

3.5On tap at rogue,sf. Aroma I is Belgium, nice yeasty a aroma. Flavor its similar. Banana is there, its my bachelor party, what else can I say, lovin the craft beer!
2.9Pour out of 750 mL bottle, thanks Aaron for the pour! Pour is fizzy orange yellow, slightly hazy, thin to no white head. Aroma has notes of some grape, pear and slight peach notes, some off sugary candy notes with hints of bready and biscuity malts, no spice in there. Taste is some sweet candied fruits with pear and lots of grape notes, hints of some biscuity bread notes, getting to a touch of ethanol, finishing very sweet. Eh.
3.6It’s a Belgian triple, and fits the style OK. I feel it could have a bit more flavor and aroma for a Belgian beer, but overall not bad. Nothing specific to critique.
2.8Bottle @ Dan’s house. Not much head when poured. Clear, golden orange appearance with a small white head. Very tangy, orange fruity, bready yeasty, richly fruity aroma. Slightly boozy, bready, almost cloying, sugary, orange citrusy flavor. Noticeable alcohol. Some oxidation which I guess isn’t too surprising, as this bottle is probably two years old. Not horrible but it was way too expensive for the quality.
3.0Bottle from Mane Liquor. Copper pour with a frothy white head. Sweet citrus and stone fruits on the nose with some bland yeast undertones. Some pepper and citrus in the taste, quite spicey. Bit boring but not bad
3.4Well clear golden / copper. Citrus, spiceyness, barley sugar and other sticky toffee aromas. Similar flavours. Nothing offputtinf but doesn’t grab you as an absolute classic of must drink proportions.
2.4Sampled on draft at Smokin’ Joe’s this beer poured a medium yellow color with a large fluffy white head that left good lacing. The aroma was citric and a bit yeasty with a sugary undertone. The flavor was tart orange and lemon with a bit of butter and bread and touches of Sweettart candies , pepper and chalk. The finish was long, tart and dry with lingering sugar and citrus. Light body. Ok.
3.5750ml bottle. Apricot coloured beer with a low lying white foam that disperses into floating islands of bubbles. Peach dominates the aroma, sweet. Fruit flavoured with a touch of alcohol that warms the throat and is smooth all the way down.
3.2Liquid gold colored with a thick ring of head and vigorous upward flow of bubbles showcasing a lively body. Refined pepper yeastiness. Nice spicing, yet subdued and some tangyness. The body is of pepper yeast and Belgian Beer Crusts. Doughy and ancient.
3.2Bottle, generously brought back from Washington by my friend Rachel. I think this is the last of the bottles she brought back for me. Pity. Pours clear orange, thick white head, lacing is spotty to good. Nose is abbey yeast, clean malt, light citrus touches, some spiciness,, definitely some bubblegum and lemon candy here too. Flavours are Soft and spicy, candy, lemon, barleymalt, hints of vanilla and toast here too, oddly enough. Not my favorite Tripel, but a passable way to spend the evening.
3.0Bottle, shared with Parksy while watching NFL quarter finals. Hazy dark golden yellow, lackluster head that retains poorly. Aroma is sweet barley candy, almonds, honey, and spices. Flavours of sweet pale malts, dried hay and flowers (chamomile), medium spices. Finish is a tad hot with alcohol. Medium bitterness. Just okay for me.
3.5Bottle at a tasting 17th Dec. Aromas of citrus and spices. Flavours that came through were lemon, orange peel, clove, and peach. Normal belgian tastes from the yeast.
3.3Pours a light yellow gold. Smells sweet and citrusy. Tastes of sweet oranges with light citrus hop notes and ending in a light, but alcoholic Belgian style yeast finish with cloves and vague banana.
3.4Bottle. Murky golden orange colour with decent cream coloured head. Some lacing as it falls away. Certainly looks the part. Aromas are very earthy and floral with the yeast, spice and honey showing through. Slightly cloying with a very definate hefeweizen yeast character. Flavours are once again quite sweet with lots of very light caramel and plenty of honey. Spicy / floral hops come through on the end. Not too bad.
3.5Murky golden tangerine pour with a candied citrus, orange peel, yeast, and lemon filled nose. Sweet with the alcohol present and a bit distracting...nice spice and apple notes. Medium mouthfeel. Meh.
3.1Small head misty orange pour mild carbonation aroma spice malt fruit hint of sugar sweetness flavour lots of hop taste smooth mild bitter fruity citrus yeast orange and lemon the pilsner malt give it an extra sweetness mild caramel finish not a top tripel but has a few different touches not bad
3.1Bottle (in NZ). A very vinous palate, with a Riesling-like sweetness. So wine-like, in fact, that I had to remind myself I was drinking beer a couple of times.
3.3Bottle.
Head is initially small, frothy, white, mostly diminishing.
Body is hazy dark yellow, bottle conditioned.
Aroma is moderately malty (toasted grain, caramel), lightly hoppy (flowers), moderately yeasty (basement), with notes of wood/cork, alcohol, pear syrup, metal.
Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter.
Medium to full body, velvety/watery texture, lively carbonation, moderately alcoholic.
A nearly impossible beer to rate. Bottles are all over the place wrt quality and character. I’ve had 4+ bottles, but most are high 2s to mid 3s. Too expensive to gamble with until they make this more reliable.
3.3Fairly clear, bright golden body with lasting head and wisps of lacing. Mild nose, notes of yeast and sugar. Similar in the taste, sweet, candi sugar and pils malt, I don’t really notice the alcohol. Good Tripel though not my best.
3.7West USA trip 2010. Tasted at Pike St. Beer & Wine. Many Thanks. The aroma has caramel, some fruits and cinnamon. Hazy, orange coloured beer with a creamy, off-white head. The taste is sweetish, hs caramel, sugar, spice, yeasts. Nice & full.
2.8(Old BA rate - bottle)
Pours with a frothy, finger of white head that dissipates very quickly. Cloudy orange-gold color. Light fruit aromas (apples and pears?); a touch yeasty; hint of alcohol sneaks in. Quite sweet at first, kinda like a candied pear. Really too sweet in fact; touch of warming alcohol. OK in this department, but nothing good. Real lack of snappy carbonation hinders a bit. Verging on medium MF, and finishes a little dry. Just not a very interesting or tasty brew, and this definitely limits the drinkability. I have to say that (not even comparing it to the style) this is a chore to drink. Overall, there are so many other better American Tripels out there, so don’t bother with this one.
3.4750ml bottle brought in by Mike and Janet. Rating #152. Golden pour with a white head. Light spiciness and a sweet apple aroma. Big yeast character up front with more of the sweet apples in the flavor, crisp and enjoyable, not bad. (1216)
3.8750 ml bottle poured into my Chimay chalice.
A- Body is a nearly transparent golden yellow. An aggressive pour still produces absolutely no head on this one. Cloudiness is rather thin and dynamic with the slight fogginess whirling about in the brew.
S- Nose is very mild. Sweet apple and pear come through first then a big whiff of phenols joins it. Not much else to it.
T-Fruits like white grape, apple, and pear come through first with a background of bready yeast and sugary sweetness. A bit of an alcohol bitterness and burn comes through for the finish but nothing overwhelming. The flavor is simple but enjoyable.
P- Low to medium carbonation and mouthfeel that is a bit thinner than I prefer.
O- I found this to be a rather enjoyable brew. Its a bit on the sweet side and is pretty simple but still very likable. ABV is detectable but not overpowering.

3.4Yellow with a fluffy white head. Bready sweet fruit aroma and taste with hints of banana and pear.
3.7Very sweet apple flavors and aromas much like a sasion. Moderately hopped with a champagne like carbonation.
4.1750mL bottle.. some of the hardest wax to get off with a cork beneath.. dirty liquid made its way through the cork onto the top, and the damn cork broke halfway out. Eventually I get this f*er in the glass.. poured nearly clear bright golden with a short cap of white head.. a few Rogue chunks of cork made it into the glass as well. The aroma picked up tart lighter fruit skins and a lovely dose of floral and grassy hops over honey and more fruit.. warmth brought out dirty white pepper and vanilla.. excellent nose! The flavor couldn’t quite hold up to the aroma, but it was still quite tasty.. tart light fruits and floral bitterness opened as expected, with biscuity malts joining semi-sweet honey on the middle.. earth and white peppery spice on the edges.. finished with the tasty spices over honey.. all of the elements came together well, but they didn’t pop like in the aroma. Medium-bodied with a sweet overall complexion on the palate.. nothing but tasty stuff here.. greatly exceeded my expectations!

3.3Bottle: The aroma consists yeast, apple, a hint of orange peel, and faint spice. It pours a transparent golden-orange with an inch white head with good retention and decent lacing. The flavor starts yeasty with light-moderate apple. The finish has sort a tanginess similar to a wheat beer along with some noticeable alcohol and spice. There’s no real heat or burn, but the alcohol flavor is pretty strong in the finish. It’s medium bodied with mild carbonation and a somewhat creamy mouthfeel.
3.1Draft. Pours gold with a white head. Light malty aroma with some fruity sweetness and a light yeasty note. The flavor is fruity sweet with notes of peach, licorice, and a light spiciness. Not bad.
3.2Draught at Rattle ’n Hum, New York
Hazy deep blond color. The aroma is lightly spicy. Good body structure, sweet flavor, spicy malt; finishes with coriander, oranges and alcohol. Solid.
