Jacobsen Extra

Jacobsen Extra

3.4 Predominantly malt and yeast aroma, with tones of hops. I smell dough, bread and herbs. Pours golden with an excellent solid head. Much bitterness in taste, quite rich. Feels quite solid and lively, long after taste. For a Carlsberg pilsner, this is very good.
3.1 Bottle@Inside, Hammel. Pours golden with a white head. Aroma and taste is sweet malts, hops, some fruits, grass, Soft carbonation. Slightly bitter finish.
3.0 Bottle at the brewery. Pours a clear reddish gold with a small white head. Aroma of malt, fruit, and spice. Taste is malt, fruit, spice, and grass. Pretty decent.
3.3 Golden with High head. Malty aromas, notes of hey. Bitter, dry, Well balanced alcohol. Good with food and has a very cleanshing effect.
2.7 Extra is a somewhat different lager. The aroma exudes a pleasant spicy scent as I figure comes from the wild Swedish buckthorn, which I know is used. The taste is also seasoned of this pleasant and slightly heavy buckthorn along with light notes of little apricot provides a great filling. Hop bitterness is very carefully checked and it fits really nice for this lager. Its properties as lager I’d rather not compare with anything.
3.6 Bottle at home. Pours a clear amber/gold with a one-finger white head. Hoppy aroma. Flavours of malt, lots of hops, citrus and floral and fruity notes. Sweet with a slightly bitter finish. Not bad - I wouldn’t mind some more hops and bitterness though, but for what is basically a Carlsberg beer it is a pretty good pilsner.
3.9 Udemærket øl - igen - fra Carlsberg Jakobsen-linjen. Den er fyldig, sød og humlet. Dejlig oplevelse.
3.5 A light golden beer with a little clear white top. Nice pilsner aroma and feels great in the mouth - not too much/little fuzz. But I miss a taste of some sort between the nice pilsner taste at first and then the bitterness in the end. Although it’s written here on the site, that there is apricot in the beer...I don’t taste it :-(
3.4 -On tap at brewery- Golden with white head. Clean, refreshing, noble hop, spice, floral, cereal. A decent pilsner with excellent hop aroma and bitterness.
3.6 50cl bottle@home in Pilsener glass@approx 15 degrees C. Pours clear amber with slightly off white head. Rather subdued aroma of malt and grass. Sufficient retention. Very well balanced taste of malt, grass, german pilsner sweetness and a hoppy bitterness, which lingers on in the long aftertaste. One of the best pilseners around,. Was superb with tatare on rye bread and all its vinegary fixin’s with its full, round character. Well done Carlsberg!
3.2 Clear deep golden with a small white head. Aroma is malt, caramel and grass. Taste is hops, grass and caramel
3.2 Supergod pilsner. Dejlig frisk. Flot farve. Let bitter eftersmag. Bedste pilsner.
3.2 Copenhagen 15/12 2014. 75 cl bottle from Irma, Smedetoften, Kbh NV. Green version of Carlsbergs Jacobsens usual design. Pours unclear, golden yellow with thick, stable, white head. Settles as thin, almost transparent layer of foam covering the surface of beer. Crawling up the sides of the glass. Moderate lacing. Aroma has a medium strong malty sweetness. Grains and bread. Stronger notes of citrus and unripe berries. Medium carbonation. Slightly thick, watery, lively texture. Flavor is medium sweet followed by a quite strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter. Lingers for a bit. Dry finish. Nicely fruity with hints of citrus mixing with the distinct bitterness. One of the better ones from Jacobsen.
2.3 Bottle. Hazy orange with a nice creamy head. Smell of soap, yeast and overripe fruit. Sweet, fruity, slightly metallic, herbal bitterness, cloying and quite alcoholic. Medium-bodied, syrupy and not easy to drink.
2.2 Bottle 750ml. Hazy golden with small off-white head. Light aroma of ripe fruits, a bit soapy and yeasty. Light sweet soapy flavor, some fruitiness, light hoppy bitterness, notes of herbs and a bit yeasty. Moderate carbonation, light to medium-bodied.
3.2 Bottle. Clear golden beer with a large white head. Aroma is malty with notes of caramel, herbs, hay, citrus and bread. Flavor is malty with notes of caramel, herbs, citrus and bread. Well balanced.
3.4 Shared 75cl bottle at Jacobsen’s brewery tap located within the grounds of the former Carlsberg brewery, Vesterpro, Copenhagen (now a trendy arts precinct). This one is a superior crisp dry refreshing pilsner. Not too sweet up front either. Pours dark golden with a decent just off-white head that laces well.
2.9 Appearance: Clear deep golden color with a fine white head. Ok lacing. Aroma: Caramel malty, mild fruity and mild grassy. Palate: Medium body. Tad sweet and a moderate bitterness. Average carbonation. Taste: Caramel malty, mild grassy, mild fruity and some herbal hoppy. Overall impression: Decent pils. Personal stats: Bottle from Kolding Vinhandel in Kolding, Denmark
1.7 The aroma of wort bread. The taste is of bread and malt. Not at all good bitterness that fills the upper part of the mouth of a weak moment. Repeat and do it right! Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.
3.5 A danish, amber, ecological pilsner with buckthorn and high, white head. Aroma is fruit, malt, hops. Taste is bitter sweet.
2.7 Big off white head, near clear deep golden body. Head has good retention and leaves crocheted lacings. Scents of hops wort malts. Tastes wort hops malts, caramel, bread, very modest bitterness, but it is present. Normal fresh on palate, Bready worty smallbitter finish. Okay. 3.2 Bottle in the flat in Copenhagen - picked up at a local supermarkets. Pours clear gold with a creamy, white head, plenty of simple, lightly toasted biscuity malts in the nose. Medium sweet flavor with rounded bready malt character, faint dough, tangerine, hay. Light bodied with average carbonation. Lightly crisp to finish with some cereal, bread, dough, mild bitter straw. Sweet, simple lager.
3.3 Bottle as Jacobsen Extra Pilsner, doesn’t say anything about seabuckthorn on the label like the RB description does. Clear golden with a medium sized creamy white head. Medium hoppy (grass, hay, dry flowers, honey) and light malty (grain, dry crackers), egg shell yeast. Light/medium body, low sweetness, light/medium bitter with a light dry finish. Light acidic on the tongue. A bit thin, but otherwise ok.
3.2 75 cl, flaske, 5,5 % ABV, købt i SuperBest i Rotunden i Hellerup, 10. marts 2014.
3.2 Bottle@The Standard. Served in a flüte. Haze golden. Cold haze. Faint malty notes. Butterscotch. Hay nutty. Crisp. Alright pils to start the Night.
2.5 Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks beerandbeyond. Hazy golden with sweet, oranges and sourkraut aroma, sweetish, a little orangey taste, yeasty bitter aftertaste and smooth texture.
