Jacobsen Original Dark Lager

Jacobsen Original Dark Lager

English: Original Dark Lager is brewed according to J.C. Jacobsen’s original recipe. The colour is chestnut. It has a Hersbrucker hop aroma while the floor malted Munich malt adds a caramel character. The carbonisation is gentle and the hop bitterness is soft. Enjoy at 6-8º.

2.6 Original Dark Lager is brewed according to an old classic recipe, and it is a tasty dark lager with tasting notes of toffee and slightly burnt tones. The malt is heavy and reminiscent of a white beer. Hop bitterness is very moderate. A quite excellent beer, which is not surprising much.
2.9 Flot mørk øl, som dog ikke helt lever op dens flotte mørke ydre. Alt i alt en fornuftig mørk øl
3.3 Clear light brown lager beer with dark taste of hops. And a nice dark aroma with hints of licorice and caramel.
3.1 Tap (at Carlsberg Brewery); pours clear dark brown with a beige head; aroma is malt with a bit of caramel, nuts, and dark fruit; taste is caramel with some roasted malt and hints of nuts; finish is a light bitter; a little thin but not bad
3.1 75 bottle at home. Pours a clear red colour with a small off-white head. Fruity aroma. Taste is malty and very nutty and fruity. Long sweet and malty aftertaste with a slight tang to it. Well, it’s nothing special but at least above average. Sold but a bit boring. The aroma reminds me of raspberry sodapop. Strange, but at least doesn’t taste like it, haha.
3.4 Bottle @ dark brown. Haze. Small head. Nutty roasted notes. SMooth malty mouthfeel. Sweet dry finish. nice.

3.2 God mørk lager øl. tør og fyldig. Let duft af karamel/lakrids. Lidt for mørk efter min smag.
3.6 Copenhagen 25/1 2015. 75 cl bottle from Føtex. Pours brown with off-white head. Slowly subsiding. Aroma of toffee and coffee - slightly bitter. Medium carbonation. Taste is sweetish - toffee and chocolate - with notes of coffee and a little bitterness in aftertaste. Nice combination of bitterness and sweetness - and quite light taste.

3.0 330 ml bottle @ Bodils Kro, Skagen. Clear, dark brown body with a small off-white head that disappears fast. Plain aroma of dark malt. Flavor is mild roasted dark malt, quite smooth, low bitterness makes it feel rather sweet. Medium body and a bit short in aftertaste. Straight forward, easy and a bit one dimensional but goes well together with the fish.
2.9 Bottle from Irma Illum, Copenhagen - brown coloured pour with off-white head. Aroma and taste is sweet toasty malty, caramel, nutty, some dark fruit, medium body, sweet malty finish.
2.2 Malty aroma. The flavor is malty and of light hops and wort easy. Good bitterness which fills the upper part of the mouth of a weak moment. Not so good anyways. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.
3.0 Coffee colored brown ale with low head. Aroma is malty roasted, coffee. Taste is bittersweet. Ok beer.
3.3 ’Münchener’ Dunkel made by Jacobsen, a brewery opened by Carlsberg in 2005 and named after Carlsberg’s 19th-century founder, allegedly brewed to a recipe by himself. Light beige, moussy, stable head, colour a deep chestnut brown with bronze hue, clear. Aroma of caramel, roasted beef, barbecue sauce, walnuts, black pepper. Malty taste, well-rounded, caramelly and nutty, smooth with light sourish touch, leafy hop bitterness in the finish, medium thin mouthfeel, but it’s a lager after all. And an interesting one indeed.
2.7 Klar rødbrun farge med et lite hvit skum. Aroma av malt, frukt, blomst og hint av sjokolade. Smaken følger aroma, men her er det mer røstet malt.
4.0 Ryebread aroma, with hints of fruitiness, wort and soma black tea. Clear dark color, minimal head. Chocolatey nutty roasted taste with nice bitterness. Light body average carbonation. Very nice dark lager, good food beer
2.7 On tap at the Jacobsen Brewhouse, Copenhagen. Clear maroon body, aroma of tropical fruit, sweet caramel. Sugary mouthfeel.
3.2 Bottle. Mahogany clear. Nutty bready malty nose. Some herbal, continental- style hops. Medium full body, some malty sweets, some chocolate. Bit sterile again, but manages some flavours still. Easy, light hazelnutty. Enjoyable. -- rated with beerbasher/winphone

3.0 Bue en bouteille au Danemark. Belle couleur brun-rouge. Principaux arômes : malt, caramel, grillé. Peu d’amertume, une pointe de sucre appréciable. Très bon produit.
3.1 0,33l bottle @ SkipperKroen, Copenhagen. Pours clear chestnut with a medium off-white head. Aroma is full malts and caramel. Flavor is quite similar with some hops in the finish. Decent.
2.6 Dark ruby pour with a small offwhite head. Pretty weak aroma, dominated by caramelly malty notes and some slightly burnt aromas. Some fruityness is also appearent. The aromas appearing when you taste the beer, is very interesting compared to the ones in the nose. Semi-enjoyable.
