Jämtlands Hell

It´s a helluva beer.

2.9 500ml brown bottle poured into a lager glass. Appearance is slightly hazy straw colored with a small frothy white head, that reduced quickly leaving no lacing. Aroma of lemon zest, orange peels and apricots. Flavour of lemon zest, orange peels, apricots and a hint of butterscotch. Taste is light sweet and medium bitter. Palate is a light-medium bodied, slightly oily texture and average carbonation. Jämtlands Hell is unusually bitter and hopped for a lager, citrusy flavour profile with suppressed malts, pretty good overall.
3.7 Flaska från SB. Bärnstensfärgad vätska. Doftar lite beskedligt av bröd och säd. Smaken ligger i en division för sig. Perfejt balanserad med ett medelångt avslut.
2.5 Clear, golden colour with big head. Fresh, hoppy aroma with flowers, citrus and pine resin. Palate is light. Lacks the bitterness I remember from earlier batches many years back. Light hoppy notes, some citrus, very moderate finish.
2.2 Lys gul med fluffy høyt hvitt skum. Malt og noe søtlige sitrus og karamellukt. Humlebitter og en del krydder. Medium kullsyre.
4.4 Bottle at Tröls. One of my favourite lagers all-time and probably my favourite Swedish lager. Excellent.
2.6 På flaska från SB Ljusgul färg med en fingerhög vit skumkrona. Luktar svagt av citrus. Smakar mrst beskt.
3.3 Clear copper colour with medium head. Malty aroma. Soft, yet nice bitterness. Hints of fudge.
3.0 How can they make a beer of Hell in Pilgrim City in Sweden? 0,5L 5,1% brown bottle from Systembolaget Luleå Sweden. Fluffy head on the bright yellow body. Scents of grapefruit, hops, extra hops. Taste; hops, bitter, hops, grapefruit, other fruit, extra hops. Mouthfeel more as a british bitter than premium lager, because bitterness is very present all the way. Ends with the bitter, hops, and I wondered where the malt was hidden.
3.1 Clear golden colour, white head. Malty aroma, hops, light citrus, honey and soap. Bitter hoppy flavour, malts. Bitter finish, hops and malts. Quite OK for a lager! (From 50cL bottle shared @ Benzai’s place. Thanks for the trade, lunnsen!)
3.3 Bottle from Systembolaget. Clear golden with a dense white head. Aroma has crisp malt, light fruity hops, hay. Taste is medium bitter with a very light sweet malt note, end is dry bitter. Body is thin/medium.
1.9 The beer was poured in a glass from the bottle. The beer does not carbonate at all. There is hardly any foam. The beer has just no smell, or maybe very little. The taste is very water like, with just a very little hint of bitterness. Overall a bad beer, nothing special
2.8 Bottle @ weekly tasting shared by Martinus. Soapy off - white head on top of a slightly unclear orange colored beer. Smell and taste malts, lightly hops, decently bitter. A bit fizzy carbonation, average body.
2.8 Bottle @ benzai thx to martinus. Hazy yellow colour with a soapy white head. Smells nothing. Hardly any smell. Tastes malts, grains.. Quite boring. Thin to medium body, soft carbo.
3.7 @ Röhällavägen. Flaska från Systembolaget (24:-). En rejält humlad lager med härlig beska.
2.9 Klar ljus orange med fast, ganska stort lätt färgat skum. Doft: Malt, humle, persika, lager jäst, katt piss. Smak: Mandarin, malt, övermogena frukter, halm.
3.2 Bottle 50cl @ nordic. Golden with a small head. Malty aroma, malty flavour, nice bitterness.
3.2 500ml bottle from backlog. Amber with white head. Aroma of flowery hops, some citrus and malt. Taste is fresh with good bitterness, citrus, bread and sweet malt.
2.4 Nice aroma containing caramel, hops and citrus. Very hoppy flavor, some caramel in the after taste but overall rather bitter. Somewhat metallic and ticklish on the palate. Bärnsten from the same brewery is sooo much better balanced and tastier.
3.2 Flaska 50cl i lagerglas. God svensk lager.
3.2 500 ml bottle. Pours golden with small white head. Hints of bread, hay and light malts in smell. High carbonation with slight suggestions of hops and malt. Rather sharp bitterness
3.3 500ml bottle. Amber with a white, unevern, head. Flowery bitter aroma, with a touch of citrus. Fresh bitter taste with orange peel, citrus and burnt crispbread. Medium carbonation, small sharp bubble. Long bitter aftertaste. Nice but a bit thin.
3.2 Pours amber with low to no white head. Quite nice lager like aromas, hints of bread, hay, some caramel Quite sticky start from the carbonation, very bitter being a lager, some sweetness. Feels overall like a very clean and well produced lager.
3.8 This is a very good lager almost of Pilsner style. Nice bitterness, long aftertaste and very refreshing.
4.0 Well hopped and fine, crisp bitterness without losing taste. Very flavorful lager.
3.7 This beer is very hard of itself. It all depends on what you get. Sometimes you get a real good Hell that tastes a lot and smells a lot and sometimes vice versa. And I do not know why that is? Because I love this beer so much when you get it with much taste and smell. However, this as I drink now is very weak in taste and smell. Hardly any aftertaste. This is clearly my top 10 beers but as I said, you have to get a really good Hell if it must be good.
3.2 50cl, Swedish brew, from Systembolaget Göteborg, complex brew, malty/bitter and slightly fruity, easy to drink, balanced, clear, good head, nice brew
3.8 Taste of malts, pine and some citrus. Quite bitter aftertaste, but not too dominant. Medium body. Tastes more like an english ipa than a lager in my opinion.
