Jester King Le Petit Prince Farmhouse Table Beer (Batch 11+)
In October 2013 Jester King began brewing this beer using indigenous wild yeast and souring bacteria. All bottles from Batch 11 onward should be under this rating.

3.8Bottle from Hyde Park Grocer in Austin, TX.
Aroma is mild...straw, hay, maybe green grass. Taste is grassy, green olives, lemon zest. I loved this beer...reminded me of a light grassy pils. Refreshing.
3.6super pale hazy. Funky breath oak, super light body, moldy sour. Super drinkable. Enjoyable without being super complex
3.9Draft at the Masonry.
Lightly hazy, murky yellow with a white head. Super-dusty aroma. Flavor is very gently tart, gently fruity. Soft seems to cover every aspect of this beer. Softly mineral, nice drying bretty close. Abundantly carobnated and this compensates for being relatively thin. Halfway between sparkling water and beer, both literally and figuratively, this is absolutely delicious stuff.
3.275cl Bottle @ De Bierkoning, Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Hazy golden colour with a thin white head.
Aroma is malt, straw, yeast.
Taste is malt, grain, citrus, yeast, slightly tart.
Medium body, average carbonation.
3.4$8.49 Bomber, WW. Batch #24. 3.0%. Pours hazy pale gold with a small white head. Aroma is yeasty, dandelion, green grass, light lemon zest. Flavor is wild yeast, dust, earth, hay. Not a ton of flavor here, but what's here is good.
3.2Fat på Koelschip. Ljust gul med vitt skum. Torr och stallig i smak och doft.
3.8Bottle, batch #20-12.20.2016. Color: Hazy golden, white head. Aroma: Malt, wet hay, farmhouse yeast. Taste: Hay, wheat, moderate sweet, light to moderate bitter and light sour. Peppery and herbal notes of farmhouse yeast and subtle fruity notes of orange, lemon and overripe peach. Flowery and mineral water hints. Medium to below medium body, just below average carbonation. Moderate to medium bitter palate at finish. A lot is flavours and nice complexity for a low alcoholic table beer. Very interesting.
3.7750 ml bottle
Thanks to hezron for sharing this one weeknight. I've seen it on shelves before but never pulled the trigger. Having been reintroduced to Jester King I wish I had made the effort sooner. This gem drinks easily while still retaining enough flavor to be more than filler between sours, IPAs, and imperial stouts.
AROMA / APPEARANCE
Tropical hay, wheat, and a sour zest percolate upwards as if imitating something like Taras Boulba. It still maintains a southern twist though with American roots mixed into the vibrant nose. The carbonated golden body bubbles with ample life.
FLAVOR / PALATE
Soft wheat, hay, lemons, and bursts of sweet fruitiness refresh the tongue. The bright feel continues well into the soft vinous finish. A gentle sessionable beer is only held back by the format (large bottle) and price (upwards of $10). If this made its way to the shelves in four or six pack cans I'd have some in the fridge.
3.401.05.2015, tap @ CBC:
Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly fresh fruity, flowers, orange, wet hay, light malts, tropical fruits. Taste is slightly dry floral, hay, flowers, weeds, light malts, bark, hints of tropical fruits. Medium bitterness, dry and watery mouthfeel. Fair enough.
3.8Clear pale yellow with a thick white head. Aroma is skunk, bread, grass, dust, leather and lemon. Taste is light sweet, medium bitter and light sour.
3.5Taster at Darby's Gastown on Halloween party with Christina and her friends. Pours a bit hazy blonde with a white head. Aroma is a bit funky with flowery notes. Taste is similar with noticeable piney bitterness. A bit overbitter, but good.
3.0On tap. Pours a clear gold with light head. Light aromas of stoned fruit and grapes. Light flavors of woody fruit, grain, and dusty fruit. Very light. Not a category for premium beer...
3.41 pt 9.4 fl oz bottle, Batch #20. Hazy yellow gold colour, white foam head leaving lacing and funky fruity citric rind aroma. Taste is funky, pale malt, grainy, with citrus rind, fruity, banana, yeasty notes. Light bodied, soft carbonation, dry funky tangy sourish finish. Quite drinkable
3.9Bottle shared at Lucky Bamboo share. Thanks Mike! Pours a clearish, bright (almost neon) straw color with a finger of foam that lingers. Lemon zest, hay, straw and barnyard notes permeate the nose. Crisp and light on the palate, with bright lemon zest and hay. Nice mineral, limestone notes as well. Lingering hay, mineral and lemon zest. Really complex for the abv.
3.8Batch 22, November 2017; sampled March 2018
A steady poor produces a two-finger sick pale, off-white colored head. The beer is a light yellow, golden color that shows a clear, almost metallic golden hue when held up to the light. The aroma smells lightly tart, with a faint fruity note, and a hint of dried a like green character. As the beer warms up it begins to pick up a funky, phenolic character that leans towards the musty side of things. Grassy herbal hop notes, perhaps a hint of citrus zest are also found in the nose.
The beer is very lightly sour, and finishes with some astringency and bitterness in the Finish. The beer is actually fairly bitter, much of which is probably attributed to how light the beer is overall. Light grassy, herbal notes and a straw like flavor are also found here. The body of this beer is quite light, the carbonation is at a medium level that provides some prickly texture. There is a touch of phenolic character in the Finish, this adds a bit of funkiness and a hint of plastic-like character. Some of the astringency in the Finish could be attributed to a herbal, Woody hop character.
This is really nice and tasty, but it is actually not nearly as memorable and characterful as the original batches of this that I had before they used wild yeast and bacteria. Still this is quite enjoyable and it has a lot of character for a beer of the strength.
3.1Taster pour at Mikkeller Bar, L.A. Appearance is clear, straw yellow with fair sparkle, thin cap of white head and nice lacing. Aroma is barnyard funk and tart. Taste is as aroma with more barnyard than aroma. Palate is light bodied with thin texture, soft carbonation and dry, tart finish. Overall, they excelled at capturing the barnyard and didn't go too sour, but not my favorite style.
3.6Draft pour at the masonry Fremont. Golden pour thin head soft aroma like a Belgium lager. Easy to drink.
3.7Cloudy gold on tap at Craft. Slight citrus notes, barn and funk with a very light pucker. Better than I remember older batches being (3.4)
3.3Bottle at Mikeys Christmas party, thanks to Erika
Hazy white with a medium sized white head, good lacing. Straw, barnyard, mild tart
Good
3.9750ml bottle scooped up in Decorah. Filtered yellow-tan body. Foamy, frothy, steady, white head. Funky barnyard notes. Delicate and light on the palate. A great table beer. Faint lemon lime. Real simple, sublime. Great beer.
3.8Hazy golden color with white foam. Aroma is mostly yeasty with hay, grass, meadow flowers and some dough notes. Taste is bitter and yeasty, also hoppy with hay and light barnyard notes. Light body, quite dry. A quite simple beer yet tasty, especially for the low ABV.
3.8Bottle at the Aaahhh...ØL!!! Julebord 2016. Hazy yellow body with a white head. Aroma is funky, floral, grape fruit. Taste is spicy, peppers and herbs, with funky wildyeast, citric fruits and lactic acid. Tart and fruity finish, dry zesty aftertaste.

Jasne owoce, przyprawowosc, mocno wytrawne, slonawe, o dziwo ma troche ciala. Wysusza az usto. Dlugie posmaki
3.7Aromat świetny, cytrusowe, chmielowe nuty. W smaku wytrawne, mocna goryczka, kwasowość dość mocna i w tle lekka słodycz. Dość lekkie w odczuciu. Dość pijalne, ale w posmaku zalega goryczka takiej skórki cytrusowej.
4.5Outstanding!!! SeifenNase und SoftrockMouthfeel sowieso...0,75l Bottle directly from Texas. Scott sei Dank !!! Thanxxx Brother 💋 . Batch 20!!! Bottled 19.12.2016.

3.4Probada en el Club de Cata de Olut Sabadell en formato botella lote número 20
3.0Yellow with white head, light body. Fruity aroma and bitter end. Tasted in Olut club de cata
3.3Gold Star Beer Counter, Brooklyn tap: pours slightly hazy golden with small head. Aroma is lightly funky, herby and medicinal. Taste and body are super light. Light sourness. Quite carbonated. Too light methinks.
3.5Bottle: This beer punches well above its weight. Light and refreshing. Lots of aroma and flavor for its abv. It’s a little sour and funky although clean for a Brett beer. Citrus, whetstone and slightly cheesy.
An excellent lunchtime beer.
