Red ale aged in oak barrels with wild yeast and souring bacteria. Unfiltered, unpasteurized, and bottle-conditioned. This beer is a tribute to our good friend Russ Beadie. Thanks, Russ. Thuss.

3.6Draft at Craft Brewed. Pours a rust, blood orange amber color with a finger of foam that dissipates. Tart cherry, vinegar and creamy oak aromas. More of the same on the palate. Some light must as it warms with more oak and some raspberry bramble as it warms. Lingering vinegar acidity on the finish.
3.6Good barrel-aged sour, hitting all the notes you want in the style, offering up an intense citric tartness with hints of berry and yeast rounded off by vanilla-oak and a subtle sweetness on the fade. Nothing groundbreaking, but very drinkable.
3.6Draft.
A- Cherry, caramel, mild oak, mild funk.
A- Brown color, hazy liquid, off white head.
T- Caramel, sour, cherry, mild oak.
P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish.
O- Decent but I want a little more fruit and sourness from my sour reds. This was pretty mild by all means. Good but lacked much complexity.
3.6Shared 750 ml. bottle poured to a small snifter showing a hazed, deep amber color, with a modest layer of off white/tan froth that quickly diminished to a ring & film, and minimal lacing. The nose was initial, lurking alcohol scent, yeast & must, and a tart to sour combo of cherry, berry, & grape. Medium bodied, with moderate effervescence, the taste was similar notes, supplying a pleasantly tart sting, and earthy, oaky/tannic astringency.
3.5On tap in Paris. Of course I go to Paris to sample beers from Texas, don't you? Soft malt aroma with minimal sharpness, some chocolate cheesecake. Okay look to it and soft cream foam. Flavour is heavy sourness with a beefy leather back end. Not bad but it's missing that je ne sais quoi of the Belgians who do this kind of thing which I adore.
4.5Tart Cherries. Funk. Wood. Murky dark brown/amber. Thick light tan head. Good retention. Fair amount of lacing and a thick ring around the edge. Dry. Tart. Woody. Funky. Fruity (Cherry and a little hint of citrus). A hint of lactic-ness. Thick mouthfeel. Clean finish. Very nice.
