Jolly Pumpkin Bam Bière

Jolly Pumpkin Bam Bière

This delicious farmhouse ale is named for our Jack Russell, who struck by a car, bounced back in fine tenacious Jack Russell fashion, and is brewed for those of us who knocked down, have picked up, dusted off and carried on undaunted.

Golden, naturally cloudy, bottle conditioned and dry hopped for a perfectly refreshing balance of spicy malts, hops and yeast.

Please enjoy our beers in good health,
And look both ways when crossing the street!

2.9 Kind of a weak boned sour. Probably because of the 4.5 abv. Lacks a strong finish. It does have a nice tart flavor of apple and plum. Very session able and not drying at all. As the brew warms it becomes more enjoyable. So much praise for jolly pumpkin brews, but living right near urban family and holy mountain makes me spoiled.
3.4 F: no. C: pale gold, light hazy. A: watery sour fruity, bit woody, peach, brett. T: light sour fruity, watery bretty, woody, light to medium body, some tannins on the palate, light body almost no carbonation, easy drinkable, good one, enjoyed, big bottle sample shared @ BBP Wanderlust 2018 in Brussels.
3.5 Bottle. Gold with a modest white head. Aroma of crackers, lime, orange blossoms, coriander seed. Decent body for under 5%. Starts a little sweet and fruity, finishes dry and slightly spicy. Acidic apples. Funkier than suggested by the aroma. Modest bitterness. Hadn't noticed it was bottled 12/15, but it seems to have held up OK.
4.8 Pours orange with a quickly dissipating white head. Cidery sour taste with hints of pepper spice. Spectacular well balanced and flavorful farmhouse sour.
3.7 750 ml bottle 9/5/18 (Binny's-Montgomery)-43° in Tulip-Pours a hazy golden with a small loose white head. Aroma begins with wheat, coriander, lemon, and floral. Taste starts of sour and then just falls off with a bit of a bitterness on the back end. This light bodied brew got better with the second glass. A nice Saison.
3.2 Not bad white head and foggy orange body. Floral sourness, some yeast, coriander, light grain. Flavour is a light sourness with white bread notes and a crisp finish. Quite nice, good sharp breadiness tempered by the quaint sour ale over arching the thing.
4.2 Bottle from Pontoosuc package store in Lanesboro, MA Aroma: cereal, barnyard Appearance: hazy golden with a white head Taste: medium sweet and medium bitterness Palate: light body, average carbonation, slick feel, long finish Tasty

3.0 375mL bottle. Pours yellow-gold with a moderate white head. Aroma is tart; funk, citrus, grain, and some vinegary acidity. Taste is lightly tart; cereal, apple, grass, lemony citrus, yeast, and some pepper. Dry. Light-medium body. Moderate but prickly carbonation. Crisp-ish mouthfeel.
3.7 Bottle from Stanislaus Brewskovitch, Zwolle. Aroma is tart fruits and grainy malt with peppery saison yeast, funky notes, citrus, lightly grassy hops, herbal hints. 3.0 On tap at BrewDog Brighton. Slightly hazy, fizzy brown with a white head. Yeasty, citrus aroma then a light, yeasty, citrusy taste. Easily forgettable.
3.5 Pour is very light straw yellow, with light bubbly, clingy head. Very intriguing aroma, spice and fruit. Quite sour on the tongue. It's a taste that would take some getting used to, but not entirely unpleasant. Just not really my preferred taste.
3.7 Bottle. Lots of barnyard funk, peach, white grapes, citric notes. Light tart, very crisp flavour, funky, very peachy, with a bitter finish reminiscent of orange zest. Great!
3.4 Bottle. Bottled May 2017; BB undated; Drank Nov 2017 - Hazy orange gold in colour. Small foamy white head. Fruity; lemon citrus, grapefruit, apple. Spicy. Yeasty; mildly funky. Malty. Hoppy; moderate hop bitterness. Bittersweet citrus fruity spicy yeasty throughout. Dry and mildly sour. Bitter slightly tart finish. Very drinkable. (2017-11)
3.9 From Dec 2007 I got this bottle in a trade with Wasatch. Thanks John! This pours from 12oz bottle a cloudy yellow-orange with a *huge* very billowy head of foam that doesn't do a whole lot of receding. It gets so thick that I imagine I could spoon it out and it would keep its shape. I like that. The smell...hit me as soon as I popped the cap on the bottle. It's all fruity and yeasty and funky and it has notes of candy sugar and tartness. Pretty darned complex. The taste up front has a mix of sour and sweet flavour. The sour is mostly from apple, the sweet is from a mild malt presence.I'm getting a yeasty flavour now as well as a touch of funk and some peppery notes. It has a thin mouthfeel, the carbonation is high, and it finishes crisp and dry with a short but pleasing aftertaste. Overall, I find this Saison a treat to drink and quite sessionable. I'd drink it again, no problem. Thanks again, John!
3.8 Pours a cloudy golden with small white head. Aroma has lemon, sour apples, yeast and some good barnyard funk. Taste is sour with a short clean finish and crisp mouthfeel. Body is light but not watery. Easily drinkable and delightful, and true to Jolly Pumpkin's reputation.
3.4 Bottle, 375mL. 4.5%. #1800. Purchase ("Biere-revolution.com", FR). Home. A golden light opaque beer with a medium white foamy head ; good retention ; ok lacing. Biscuit, fruits (citrus), wild woody notes (brett aroma I guess), herbal note. Light to medium dry fresh sour, sweet note, light bitter. Light body, thin texture, average carbonation, dry sour lasting finish. Overall, enjoyable !
4.0 Bottle from Total Wine in Orlando, FL. Aroma is floral, spicy yeast, fruit (maybe peaches), mild funk, some oak. Taste is dry, crisp, tangy fruit, nice underbelly of brett (but not heavy-handed), nice hoppy-ness as well. Very balanced. Classic stuff.
2.8 Sampled in Ann Arbor at their brewery. Its sour aspect OK but way too light. Sorry these notes were just for myself now I'm forced to publish them and need more characters to do so, hence this sentence
4.0 An excellent farmhouse. Slight tangy, a bit spicy, light body. Very drinkable and goes well with food.
3.6 12 oz bottle. Color of grapefruit juice, hazy and opaque. Soapy white head with some suspended orange bits. Aroma is citrus, yeast, straw, and bitter apple. Similar taste. A bit sour with some funk. Big lemony citrus, biscuit, and green apple. Huge carbonation and a crisp finish.
