One of Bam's brown eyes is, in fact, black. When mischief reigns supreme, it positively glows. Dedicated to the dark side; smooth, dark, incredibly delicious as only a Jack Russell with bat wings can be.

3.0Appearance: deeper reddish brown. Finger of tan foam.
Nose: Tart stone fruit. Funk. Touches of oak. Medium roasted malt
Taste: Tart cherries, a little earthiness, yeast notes. very lightly sweet.
Body: Medium to fuller. Lively bubbles.
Parting thoughts: I had thought my forays into the sour side of the beer world had prepared me. I was mistaken.
3.4From tao at Kultainen Apina. Pours cola brown, thin tan head. Dark malts, brett, caramel, sourish berries, wood. Thin body, average carbonation.
2.2(nez myrtille sauvage, vinaigre blanc, bouche moins sympa que le nez, presque rien, très pauvre on all-lign)
3.6Tried at BrewDog Liverpool. Rich deep brownish red colour with a small off white head. Aroma windy, light yeast and fruity. Taste tart with some dryness. Full body.
3.3Not my favorite Jolly Pumking but still pretty good and tasty. Would drink again.
3.5Bought at Liquor Shed. No dating that I can find.
Opening the bottle, bought on the warm shelf, and it started to gush. Poured it into my glass promptly, the bottle began oozing. No problem.
I see a murky rusty brown colour, off white foam that shrinks slowly, lacing is okay.
I smell some Brett and a mix of vinegar sourness and fruity tartness. Not much Saison character going on here but I still like the smell.
Vinegar sourness, fruity tartness taste. Brett is subdued. There's a mild sweetness and spiciness mid palate that never comes close to taking over.
On the lower end of medium bodied, carbonation is adequate.
Good.
3.2Bottle sample at a tasting. Thanks zvsn. Hazy bronze with no head. Sweetish aroma with notes of acetone, wood, some fruitiness and spices. The flavor is mild bitter and sour with notes of spices, wood, some yeasts, "green". Flat, medium-bodied.
3.2Bottle shared at a tasting, 3 years old bottle. Murky amber, no head. Aroma is funky, vinegar, caramel, wood. Sweet, tart, oxidized, malty, spicy, wine notes. Medium-bodied, low carbonation. Looks like bottle leakage problem.
3.9Taste: complex, tangy, tart bready, dark fruit, berries, sour as it warms. Same with the nose. Deep Mahogany Red hue, slightly unfiltered, tall foamy head, delicate lace. Medium to full body. Thirst quencher.
3.6On tap @ Jolly Pumpkin. Pour is red/brown with a small tan head. Notes of ripe fruit, hay, spice, oak, and vinegar.
3.8Pours hazy brown from the bottle. The frothy, off-white head slowly fades. Aroma is sour cherry, wood, a touch spicy. Taste is sour with a mildly sweet chocolate undertone. The sourness fades slightly at the finish, letting the sweet malts become more pronounced. Body is well carbonated, light, almost watery, although fairly uniquely instead of being put off by the lack of heft, I find it all the more refreshing. All in all it’s a mix of champagne, sour red cherry, and chocolate. Somehow I like it.
3.3Color marrón, turbio, con capa de espuma de un blanco amarronado de dos dedos de grosor y retención decente. Carbonatación suave. Textura acuosa. Aroma a salsa HP, ketchup, vinagre. Sabor a vinagre y recuerdos de vinagre balsámico de Módena. Postgusto sulfuroso algo desagradable. Decente, aunque cansa. ¿Saison? Difícil.
3.3Pours amber with a off white head. Aroma of funk, yeast , fruit and a hint of chocolate. Taste is tart and funky
3.4375ml bottle pours a sparkly but clear dark copper/brown with a medium beige head that lasts but leaves little lacing. Aroma is yeasty with lots of vinegar, and touches of cherries and chocolate. Taste is sour upfront with some barnyard funk in the middle and sweetness in the aftertaste. Body is light to with lively carbonation and a crisp mouthfeel. I expect a lot from Jolly Pumpkin and wish they had made this one more flavorful.
3.1Aroma of funky barnyard, some citrus zest, and smokey raisin. Deep reddish brown color with a thin tan head. Mild sour up front. Funky yeast mixed with dried lemon, and then a mini burst of roasted malt. Slick mouth feel with micro carbonation. Finish is slightly sour and acidic. Interesting but not my style.
3.2Al club de tast de l'Olut (Sabadell)... Molt bo aroma però que fa esperar més del que realment és!
3.4Shared bottle @OlutSBD club de cata. Pours brown with white head. Aroma of vinager and caramel. Slightly sour. Low carbonation.
2.8Shared bottle at Olut Sabadell. Hazelnut coloured with white head. Sweet malty and wild yeasts aroma. Sparking and light bodied, a bit salty.
3.2Bottle, 375mL. 4.5%. Purchase ("Biere-revolution.com", FR). Home. A sparkling dark brown beer with a medium beige head ; medium retention. Roast, vinegar, wood, red berries notes. Light sweet, light to medium dry fresh sour. Light body, thin texture, soft carbonation, brown soursweet finish. Overall, enjoyable. Watery, lack of body.

2.9Sampled at their brewery in Ann Arbor. A decent sour flavor but lacking in character.

3.565cl Bottle @ Cervezalandia, Vall d'Uixo, Spain
Dark brown colour with a thin white head.
Aroma is yeast, grapes, ripe fruit, vinegar.
Taste is yeast, plums, sweet, tart.
Medium body, moderate carbonation.
3.6Pours nice brown, some foam left but not very much carbonated. Nice tart and funky nose, some chocolate aroma hints there as well. Relatively subtle berries. Taste is sour at first, coffee, light berries and not sweet dark fruits. I agree that everything feels a bit toned down, so if they could amp moat of the flavour elements, that would be really amazing. Still a great beer though. Bitter finish and quite dry chocolaty linger.
3.5Nice funky nose with chocolate, oak and cherries, light mouth with modest tartness and finishes with chocolate cake. A bit watery. Has potential but does take it to the next Step.
3.9Pours a murky black from the bottle with bubbly tan head that dissipates slowly to leave moderate lace. Aroma of musty funk and a nice touch of lactic acidity with a hint of roasty malt behind. Taste is more acidic, less funk, roast still there in the background. Pretty solid.
3.625.4floz (750ml) bottle, BOD: 07.23.2017,bought on sale for $4, poured into a large snifter glass. So lets see how it aged after sitting on a store shelf for about four years. It appears brown, translucent when light shines through, and possesses a might head. The aroma is leathery, and earthy. The palate is thin, and age does not seem to have much of a detrimental affect on the oh so very mild flavor, which is similar to the aroma.I kinda dig this as a brown session farmhouse ale (or whatever).
2.8Sampled on draft at Zeno’s this beer poured a murky brown color with a large fluffy tan head that lingered and left excellent lacing. The aroma was sourish with soy sauce ,red wine, Brett and vinegar notes. Flavor was wood, brett, vinegar and bread dough. Long finish. Medium body. Disappointing.
3.8Bottle at home. Clear brown body with a small white head. Berries, currant, yeast, wood, cherries,
3.5Bottle thanks to Levi! Deep brown pour with red highlights. Tart red apple and some shag tobacco. Dark berry preserves. Bucolic Belgian yeast. Salted wood. Tart flavor. Some balsamic-dipped wood. Pennies. A bit of butter on the finish. Lots going on, but it’s pretty fun. Medium body, prickly carb.
3.9Served on tap at Jolly Pumpkin. Plum hazy color with a white head. Tart plum flavor. Heavy body.
