4.0 Bottle at home with friends, courtesy of Matt. Pour is light orange with a small white head and decent lacing. Funky, lemony, green apples, pears, lightly citrusy, biscuity, urine, and doughy aroma. Taste is big oak, light pear, lemons, sour citrus, grapefruity, orange peels, urine, and floral with a big sour finish. Medium body with light carbonation. Really nice stuff, thanks again Matt!!
4.2 12 oz. bottle, sent from pantanap (thanks a lot, Kan), pours a hazy golden orange with a small-medium white head. Nose is very funky, bringing out moderate acetic notes, barnyard funk, and some tart light fruit skins - exceedingly complex aromatics. Flavour brings out moderate-to-high tartness from light fruit skins, some low-to-medium funkiness, a lemon tang, and medium acidity. Really wonderful blend and well-crafted here. It doesn’t really taste like a lambic, but more of an American sour with some lambic influences. Highly complex and drinkable, despite being high carbonation. Wonderful stuff.
4.1 330 split 2 ways. Pours a nice orange color with a good sized white head that fades to nothing. Scent is extremely funky, dank wet basement. Taste is really nice... Sour, tart, and very smooth just enough carbonation to light up your taste buds. Nice clean finish. Another impressive offering from JP.
4.2 Wonderful acidic nose, slight acetic flavor on top of Chardonnay grapes. Great, lambicus finish.
4.3 7/13/13. 12oz thanks to womencantsail as a palate cleanser during tons of malt liquors. Funk on the aroma with some corn, wood, and vanilla. Nice balanced tartness with sour, wood, and vanilla. Delish!
3.6 Hazy yellow pour with big effervescent bubbles. Smells like cheesy feet, aromas open up into pear and wine and grape witha little bit of some bramble fruit once beer was at proper serving temperature. Extremely dry finish that left the tongue feeling almost leathery. Crazy all over the place but works.
4.1 11.2 oz. bottle thanks to miketd. Pours a clear golden color. The aroma has tons of lemons, and some green apples. Very much like a good gueuze. I dig it! The taste has more lemons, it’s also very funky with some grassy poop notes almost like going to a organic garden center. The mouthfeel is puckering. This is really good stuff.
4.0 Bottle. Pours clear golden with lots of bubbles and a medium white head. The aroma is acid, wood, grape juice and the flavor has a bitter, juicy feel with woody and vinous notes. Great.
3.8 Old tick. Batch 4. Super bretty beer. Very much orvalish, lots of tannic oak and dry. Batch 1 is a totally different beer. very zippy and sour.
4.0 Bottle, 12/23/2011 - thanks Deyholla! Pours hazy golden amber with a small fizzy off-white head that dissipates quickly with a bit of lacing. Aroma is tart - bretty yeast, horse blanket, funk, lemon. Flavor is about the same, lightly tart, only a bit of sweetness, with a lingering dry tart finish. Very little astringence from the wood. Quite tasty!
3.9 330mL bottle blend 4 pours a bright clear golden with a large white head. Aroma of oaky vanilla, Brett funk, citrus, peach, musky barnyard. Lightly sour and tart, lemon, yeast funk, citrus, oak notes, and a dry slightly tangy finish. Yum!

3.8 Bottle. Golden colour with an off-white head. Aroma is sourness, yeast, spices, lemon. Flavour is sourness, yeast, spices, lemon. Nice beer.
4.2 Nearly opaque peachy orange. Looks really pretty. Faint citrus(grapefruit stands out) and funk. Wood. Sweet, sour, and vinous with lots of citrus and tropical fruit, particularly grapefruit, lemon, passion fruit, and pineapple. Finishes with bitter pink grapefruit and oaky funk. Dry as a bone. I’d love to get another taste of this, but I doubt I’ll ever see it again. Rats!
3.8 Bottle. Pours a hazy golden color with a large off white head. The aroma is tart, slightly fruity lemony citrus, hay, mild honey sweetness and the typical JP funk. The flavor has the JP funk, tart, citrus, acidic, wood, yeast, with a hint of hay. Brett character.
4.2 Shared by ygtbsm94. Thanks Brad! The beer appears straw yellow colored with 3/4" white head which leaves a thick sheet of sticky lacing slowly cascading down the snifter. The aroma is delightful. Sour, funk, grass, lemons, lemon zest, pepper. The flavor is equally enjoyable. Complex and well balanced. Loads of funk with a floral hop finish. Lemons and a hint of assorted citrus. Really drinkable. I would love to have more of this. One of the most delicious beers I have had from Jolly Pumpkin. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 06-04-2012
3.9 Bottle 330ml @ fonefan Pours slightly hazy golden with a white head. Aroma is sour with an aroma almost like belgian lambic with a vinegar and acetone. Taste is light sweet and medium to heavy sour with a dry, sour finish. Body is light to medium, texture is thin, carbonation is soft.
3.8 Bottle. It’s a lightly hazy one, golden in color and with a small, off-white head. Lovely aroma with some barnyard hints, a spiced touch and some lemon notes. The flavor too has a nice spiced touch, with some faint vinegar notes. Lemon peel, barnyard, old leather and some grapefruit. Medium body, quite tart, but far from too dry. Lasting finish with grapefruit and funk. A really pleasant one, tasteful and very enjoyable. 121109

4.2 Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Nice head with good duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are rich brett, sour malt, fruits, leather and hops. Nice and sour without being astringent.
4.0 Sehr frischer und klarer Säurebeginn, breit, dafür mild, passende Herbe. Apfelnoten, trockene Säure. Erdig, das Bier besitzt einen leichten Essigstich. Zum Ende weiter trocken, eher Limette. Sehr gut! 9/12/11/13/12/12
4.1 Bottle from JStax. Pours a nice pale golden color with a big fizzy four finger head that laces a bit and falls but keeps a cap throughout the beers life. On the nose... lots of basement funk, sweet citrus and floral touches, bits of sharp cheese.... on the palate it comes across softer than I was expecting and very well balanced. Big sour orange flavors with a bit of bitterness, funk, lime, vinegar lead into a tart dry finish...grassy floral. Yum.
4.4 Sour and Bitter 2012. Bottled. Pours a hazy yellow with a small white head. Light to medium sweetness with some bitterness and tartness. Light aromas of grapefruit, horse blanket with hints of earth. Medium bodied. Soft carbonation. Bitter finish. Lovely balanced.
3.9 Blend one from december 2010. Bottle hooked up by pampdogg. Aroma of dusty, cobweb cellar funk. Sharp lemon acidity. Taste is toast and light toast. Touch of spoiled milk. Some ginger. Dry rustic leaves. Pretty good stuff. Dry. Somewhat harsh at times. But tasty.
3.5 Blend 2, 2011. No way this is only 15% lambic. Tart, dry, lemon. Some funk and horse in the nose but taste is fairly clean. Maybe it is the mouthfeel as heavy but something is slightly amiss. Some bandaid on the back end.
4.0 Bottle (330 ml). Thanks to Pier-Luc for sharing this one! Unclear golden with a small persistent white head and some lacing. There was some particles in my glass that make the beer loose an appearance point but it’s still a good looking beer. Nice aroma where the Saison yeast is recognizable but the lambic take most of the place. Notes of citrus (lemon, grapefruit), green apple and brett with funky barnyard notes. Taste of fruits (lemon, grapefruit, green apple and grapes), wood and good sourness. Mouthfeel is dry. Good carbonation. This beer is a very good blend and probably the best JP beer I’ve had so far.
