Bam is an extra special dog. After surviving being struck by a car, he daily somehow manages to avoid being carried away by the largish birds of prey gliding overhead, riding unseen thermals.

3.9 Delicious, spicy, peppery, and definitely on the refreshing, light side. More funky than sour.
3.8 750ml served in a Duvel tulip. Batch 1063/1064 Bottled: 04-05-2012 A - Murky brown body with 3 fingers of moundy head slowly collapses into several different textures of foam. Excellent retention with minimal lacing. S - Fresh fruity esters, green apple, watermelon, lemon, green grass, dry funky yeast, earthy and spicy herbal aromas. Salty wood and white balsamic come out as it warms. T - Moderate grassy and zesty citrus hops add aggressive bitterness that pushes against a mild grain malt. Hints of berry fruit and tannins coat the back of the tongue. Salty and woody with a dry bitter finish. M - Moderate prickly carbonation, medium body, dry finish. Well it’s definitely hoppy. More so in the flavor than the nose. Very complex nose though. Crunchy herbal dryness. The hops are right on the edge of choking all other flavors out. I haven’t had the original so I can’t compare the two. If you feel like a hopped up Saison this should feed your craving well. Serving type: bottle 08-03-2012
3.6 Pretty unique! Crazy dark copper pour w/ a huge white foamy head. The aroma is very sour & taste somewhat sour but different & interesting. I appreciate the originality here. Nice & tasty at the low 4.7%.
3.7 Noticeable hops up front, notes of citrus, pine... Not particularly sour for a JP, but definitely lingering hop character throughout.... Enjoyable
4.1 Tap at Sugar Maple. This is a great beer. Barky(?) clean and smooth medium body. Mineral delicate hops, some soapy peppery tones, and some tropical tones. A complete delight to drink, incredibly sessionable. Mellow on the palate, with an almost English feel I suppose. Lots of depth. Classic, yet quirky. Great.
3.5 Bottle from Bruisin Ales. Pours brown with an inch of khaki foam. Nice amount of lacing on the glass. Tartness on the nose and tongue. Has some residual hoppiness as well. Solid.
3.5 Bottle - Citrus lemon/lime, tropical fruit and some funky yeast. Effervescent with a foamy (bottle almost blew up) white head and cloudy orange. Lemon and lime in the flavor as well, with a nice bitterness and very dry. Grassy and some spicy hops that play nicely with the other flavors. A nice flavorful patio beer.
3.7 Pours a dark dirty gold with a ever increasing light beige head. Aroma is farmy, earthy hops and tartness. Taste is earthy/pine hop bitterness with a small farmy sourness. Nice beer.
3.8 Batch 1053/1054, bottled 27/3 2012. Hazy orange with a thick frothy forever lasting good lacing off white head. Aroma is bretty and has notes of juicy yellow apples, orange peel, grass, oak. Taste is light sweet and medium bitter. Light/medium body, oily texture, medium carbonation. Light dry and bitter finish.
3.3 Flot gylden farve med en tæt fyldig skum der bliver hængende. Lidt syrlig duft, særpræget smag af gæren, humlet eftersmag, tør bitter god øl Free Føroyar!!!
3.5 750 ml. bottle. Thanks Dan! Pours a cloudy amber with a very large off-white head. Aroma of yeast, malt, citrus, and grass. Taste is malt, yeast, caramel, lemon, and grass. Somewhat bitter. Pretty nice!
3.6 Bottle to go with my NY Strip at Roast Detroit. pours murky brown with tart nose. tastes is standard JP tartness, with earth, vinegar, leaves, woody, raisins, black pepper and cherry. kinda an odd one
3.5 Pours a dark reddish amber. Sort of chunky. Has a thick light tan head that laced nicely. Aroma is a slight grainy funk, but not nearly what I expected. Flavor is a bit caramel sweet, but is balanced well with a peppery bitterness. Slight funk and caramel fruit. Body is light, but holds up with a tight carbonation. Finishes bitter and dry.
3.5 Shared a bottle with Adam, pours golden. Aroma is floral with some funky notes. Taste is floral, light, dry, barnyard. Nice beer!
3.2 Big nice off white head, pours light amber. Very nice brett, funky earthy, herbal, lactic lemon aroma..taste misses a bit..big herbak hop, bitter and very dry. Earthy hop, dry finish.
3.4 I feel like I liked the beer more than this rating, but it’s valid. It’s got a really effervescent carbonation and a dry farmhouse finish, but really not a ton of character it terms of taste. Almost like a saison that needs a little more punch.
3.4 Draught at the Blind Tiger NYC sept 2012. Amber, a bit hazy, beer with a small offwhite head. Hoppy a bit sourish aroma. Malty, hoppy, sourish and spicy flavour.
3.4 (750ml bottle) cloudy gold, creamy tan head. Nose of funk, Brett, flowers, honey. Taste is hugely earthy, floral, bit too herbal and oaky, very dry and lager like.
3.0 Bottle, shared with a group. Cloudy light amber brown with a very lively head. Yeaty, lightly funky, lightly fruity roma. Lively mouthfeel, spicy and funky elements dominate the palate, yeasty more than malty, dry almost tart finish. Not what I was expecting, and not really what I wanted.
3.7 Pours a cloudy medium copper color with an insanely huge frothy white head. Aroma is a typical JP brett profile: funky, barnyard, musty with some mild spicy floral hop bitterness. Taste is on the hoppier side for sure, bretty, mild funk, clean crispy finish with a slight lingering leafy hoppiness. Overall, this is a solid hoppy brett ale, not overly complex, with a sessionable ABV. Nice one.
3.7 Pours a deep caramel with a large, thick beige head. Nose is signature JP wild yeast, fresh grain, dry oak, soft citric acids, perhaps a more substantial fruit note beneath. Mouth is very dry, some oak throughout, long bitter finish. Pleasant palate especially from the beginning to the middle, ending is really long, leafy hop bitterness with a mint note to it. A very rustic beer, good stuff though the finish is a bit odd.
3.3 750ml bottle (shared by FatPhil, thanks). Pours hazy copper color. Nice head. Horse blanket, sweetish, yeast, some herbal notes in aroma. Leather, woody, dry yeast, malty and faint hops in flavor. I can’t say it’s sour, but some notes of sourness are there.
3.6 750ml bottle (Either K Kamppi, Helsinki, or BierKompass.de) - probably aged over a year at hope. Wow - what a nice initial aroma. Lovely light fruitiness, gentle bitterness, and a lovely gentle sour funk - hints at some of the funkier orvals we’ve had. But at first, the aromatic fruitiness reigns supreme. Crisp palate, a little watery, but not weak, pleasant carbonation, and a lovely bite from noble hops. Retronasals are fairly orvally too, but not in a trying-to-be-a-clone way, it has its own character. Taste has a fairly pleasant rich maltiness, but just a little bit of soapiness from the combination of the noble hops and the brett. Nice brown, with a huge rocky head that lasts for ever. I had a slightly yeastier one than Anna, and on swapping I think I prefered the less yeasty one, the hops were clearer, and the whole palate was drier and cleaner.
3.2 750ml bottle, big pop and started to gush. Rusty brown, super cloudy and a massive, ice cream head. Aroma is super musty, earthy, brett/barnyard and light toast. Flavor is very tart, lots of brett funk with a light fruitiness. Medium body with very active carbonation. Very interesting beer, the bitter or esb character is completely gone and the brett has really taken over. This would have a horrible rating if I rated it as a bitter, as a wild/sour it’s not bad.
4.0 Pours cloudy copper with average, fizzy white head; short retention and spare lacing. Aroma is biscuit malt, lemon and other citrus, grassy and floral hops, honey, and light spice. Flavor is mostly malt with supporting hops and citrus esters; crisp, semi-dry finish. Medium body and carbonation and low warmth.
3.3 A hazed dark amber with a thick frothy mocha to brown head. In aroma, a nice grassy malt with Brett notes, musky and smooth. In mouth, a nice grassy and raspy malt with light Brett, a bit watery. Tasted in Oct. 2012. Batch 288-289.
3.6 Pours a hazy orange. Aromas include lemons, vinegar, wood, hops, and brett. Fresh herbal and woody flavours. Very dry palate. Chardonnay like. Very drinkable. Good stuff.
3.6 Hazy amber/cider color; Medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of malt, yeast, hops, & some citrus; Flavor of malt/biscuit, yeast, herbal hops, some caramel, and citrus; Finish dry and slightly bitter; Fairly high carbonation; Nicely balanced; Overall, I enjoyed this one.
3.3 Bottle (75cl). Hazy amber/peach colour. Huge off-white head with a fabulous retention, creating complex shapes in the glass. Aroma of brett, peach, hops, caramel. Medium/light body, modest carbonation. Taste is bitter and somewhat tart, balanced by a discreet fruity sweetness, grapefruit-like. The body tapers off, and the dry finish appears thin.
3.6 750 ml bottle purchased at Andy’s in Rochester, Minnesota. Batch 753, bottled 3-17-2011. The pour is a hazed orange copper with a billowing four inch light tan head, that falls rocky and slow. The aroma is the signature Jolly Pumpkin barnyard funk, really Bretty. Under the Brett (a fair bit) is some toasted malt and an herbal element. The taste is big barnyard leather Brett, then a bit of tart lemon citrus, followed by toasted and tea malt notes. The finish shows a bit of dry resin. The palate is light bodied, very active fine carbonation, and the leather dry funk finish. Interesting, tasty.
