3.7Bottle 750 ml, at Kiselo Druženje in MBR, courtesy of Domagoj and Goga. Brown, small light brownish head. Interesting, coffee in nose, malty, fruity notes, Medium sourness, soft carbonation. Medium bodied. Usually not a fan of sour stouts, but this one is good.
3.6Uzupełnienie profilu notatki.
Piana niewielka brzydka i znika do zera. Kolor czarny z rubinowymi prześwitami. Aromat kwaskowy, winny, dzikie nuty, ciemne owoce, wanilia, drewno, lekko alkohol.
Poured a full black body with a tan head. Heavy maltiness, light raisin, some acidity, grapes. Lovely roasty touches, light acidity, grape-like, tart finish. Veeery good sour beer!
3.7Vinous, fruity, choco fig aroma. Good label on a standard brown bomber. Black, oily pour, thin tan head. Moderately sour, lightly roasted, winey, a little astringent. Medium body, light carbonation, sour finish. Offbeat, but sound. Market Square Liquors, Timberlane.
3.3Black with brown head. Aroma has wood and berries. Light roast and choc. Flavour has coffee and sour cherries. Some slightly tart acidity. Has some vinous notes too. I see the point, but I think it tastes more infected than intended sour.
4.4In a beer market that’s as overwhelmingly diverse as the one we have now these so-called Belgian-style Stout are becoming increasingly common. All of them are weird but quite a lot of them are surprisingly good. Jolly Pumpkin’s Madrugada Obscura might well be one of the oddest and best ones. It pours black with a yeasty, fruity, and malty nose. Flavor is a strange blend of elements, yet it’s somehow cohesive. There’s earthy and fruity sourness in the forms of musty wood and tart dark berries. There’s bitterness coming from hops and charred malt. The sour and spicy elements are contained by the chocolaty malt. Despite having lots of acidic sour flavor, the feel is smooth. Each sip gives you something new to taste and it’s not always easy for you to know what you’re tasting. This brew is complex, bizarre, and brilliant.
3.8Tap at Clubhouse BFD. Pours black, tan head. Aroma is tart sour notes, Bretty almost (not vinegar), bit of chocolate, roasted malt. Flavor is very tart, some cherry, sweet fruit, roasted malt. Little bitter finish. Very sour heavy but prominent "Stout" presence at least by Jolly Pumpkin standards.
4.0750ml bottle, unreadable date. Pour pitch black with a medium dense tan foam that reduce to cloud and ring. Aroma of lactic roasted malt, bitter coffee beans and alcohol. Taste is tart and spicy, I was expecting that from Jolly Pumpkin. Very complex, broiled brown sugar, black fruits, molasse and coffee crust. Medium body and high carbonation for the style. Dry and oily. Long roasted and bitter finish
3.7Backlog, ocena przepisana z untappd, w ramach uzupełniania profilu na ratebeer. Fajne połączenie palono-czekoladowej słodowości z wyraźnym kwaskiem, lacto.
2.4Dark Brown almost black with beige creamy head. Nose is acidous with hints of malts. Taste is almost bitter and lots of acid with an almost flat palate. Short and not that enjoyable.
3.6From tap at På kornet, Stavanger, 16.01.17. Ebony. Dense and persistent brown head. Aroma of acidity, lemon and fermented balck malt. Similarly dry taste.
3.7Draught. Creamy lightbrown good mostly lasting head. Black colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Some sour notes. Moderate bitter nice sour flavor. Dark malts present. Long moderate bitter finsh. Creamy palate. ok balance.
3.5Bottle. Pours dark brown/black with a medium fluffy brown head. Notes of esters, peppers, citrus, wood, citrus fruits, hay, berries, vinegar.
3.6Draft at HopCat. Pour was pitch black with very little head. Aroma was coffee and some fruit. Taste was very tart. Very complex, maybe not the easiest drinking beer.
4.0Une mousse de café-crème qui recouvre un liquide noir et une dentelle coulissante. Un nez de café au lait, de torréfaction, de mélasse et d’herbes vertes. Les saveurs me semblent étranges; crème, yogourt nature, café espresso. C’est acidulé, amer et minéral. Elle réussi néanmoins son tour de charme. La texture est mince, mais appropriée. Ça se boit bien. (1952-050916)
4.2Aroma is raspberries/cherries, medium sweetness and fruit. The flavor is cherries/raspberries, dark malts, medium sweetness and a mix acidity and warming alcohol in the finish.
3.5Black color, tan head. Aroma is roasty and acidic. Taste starts with bitter coffee, tartness, cherry pits and finishes bitter and roasty. Really dry, interesting and quite easy to drink.
3.0Shared BOTTLE. Fruity tartness, brutal acid roast. Yuck, messy! ... and only 63/75 characters.
Note: 7+/10
3.9On tap @Ma che siete venuti a fà (Rome). Pours deep brown/black with a big creamy cappuccino head. Aroma is vinous, roasted malts notes, cherry, blood, light vinegar. Flavour is medium sour with a light vinegar touch, coffee. High body, medium to light carbonation. Complex, a bit rough, but exciting.
Middels fylde. Veldig sur til å være stout. Sure røde bær, noe epler, salt lakris. Morsom øl. Middels lang, noe tørr avslutning. (Schouskjelleren ølfestival 2016)
4.5(bottle) clear very dark brown colour with a small brown head; aroma of wet wood, red wine, bitter chocolate, hint of smoke; oily palate; intense, rich sour flavour with a long, medium sour finish followed by a longer, light bitter one; excellent sour
3.8Sample @ Meny, Bjerringbro. Blackish pour with a small tan head. Notes of tart cherries, roast, pralines, bitter chocolate and light funk.
4.4I really like sour stouts and this is one of the nicer ones I’ve had. Pours black, thick tan head. Aroma is sweet, slick, slightly thin mouthfeel. Sour chocolate.
3.9Bottle. Black colour. Sour chocolate aroma. Starts like a slighlty sour stout but the sourness dominates as you keep drinking
3.5As per a bunch of tasting notes below I ask the question ’is this a sour’? I hope so as it’s done very well. Razor sharp precision right through the palate. One sniff and you know you’re in for Flemish sour goodness. tasted blind I would have sworn this was high charged Rodenbach.
4.3Black with a tan head. Oily and dark. Smells delicious like sour plum. Tastes like chocolate, oak and wine. Very awesome.
4.1Bottle from Whole Foods. Very black with a big foamy brown head. No lacing. Aroma of sour dark fruits, cocoa, roast, and oak. Tastes sour and fruity, roasty, woody and full of dark chocolate bitterness. Medium bodied finishing long and bitter. Very nice.
