4.0 On tap at Petition Beer Corner in Feb 2019. Hazy and gold. Lemon and banana nose with considerable esters. Tastes liked a spiced white wine with tartness at the end. Super drinkable.
4.0 Large bottle. Fairly clear, golden color. Sour aroma, some oaky notes. Brett flavor, wild, very dry. Has a sour candy aroma. Tart finish. Very nice.
4.0 11/27/18 (Chicago): Gift, bottled 7/25/17. 750 ml bottle, multiple pours into pint glass. Clear, light blonde pour, mild carbonation, minimal white head and lacing. Nice pepper white wine aroma, crisp. Taste consistent with aroma, nice white wine taste, peppery balance, nice pour. Clean crisp mouth feel, carbonation holds, easy drinking. Overall very nice offerin
3.5 F: thin, off-white, not long lasting. C: pale gold, bit hazy. A: sour fruity, brett, bit woody, peach, basement. T: sour fruity, woody, bit brett, cheesy, medium body and carbonation, not bad, enjoyed, big bottle sample shared @ BBP Wanderlust 2018 in Brussels
3.7 375mL bottle from Carwyn Cellars 8%abv bottled 10/08/15 Big sparse head forms atop a golden body. Fair barrel influence upfront - toast, vanilla, honey, get a bit of funky hard cheese, some banana & pear esters. Oooo yeah, nice texture, good weight, where you'd hope for a Belgian strong blonde/tripel should be - full, creamy, substantial. Lovely combination of well done Belgian yeast character with oak influence - sweet pale toasty cereals & pale toffee bolstered by vanilla & seasoned wood combining with spicy phenols of clove & white pepper becoming slightly fruity (dry hopped?) with melons, ripe banana & pears & apples. Bitterness low, very easy finish. Lovely stuff really.
3.9 750mL bottle from Whole Foods (Philadelphia, PA). Soft aromas of white wine barrel, floral, clove, light banana. Cloudy dark straw with a somewhat lasting white head. Dry, funky, lightly sour, vinous. Medium bodied.
4.6 Ojjj...
4.2 From: 750ml bottle with Cla Aroma: citrus, lemon, a bit of yeast Appearance: light hazy yellow god with nice small beady head Taste: light funk, yeast and straw, lemon and citrus Palate: medium bodied medium carb nice fizz, light dryness Overall: delicious!
3.5 Keg at Brewdog Shepherd's Bush, London. A hazy golden/yellow coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Yeasty, fruity, spice aroma. Tastes, yeasty, fruity, spice, slightly sour. Not really my thing but still pretty drinkable.
3.8 On tap at Arrogant Sour Festival 2018. Cloudy golden with white head. Citrus, lemon, spices, yeasty, some light funk, sweetish, some light acidity. Quite smooth. Medium bodied.
3.8 On keg at Brewdog Lothian Rd, Edinburgh. Appearance - pale golden with a decent head. Nose - funky, candied fruit. Rice wine. Taste - more of the same. Tangy bit almost sweet candied fruit. Like a sucking sweet. Some sort of rhubarb and custard or apple pie scenario. Palate - medium bodied and tangy through middle and end. Overall - this one grows on you and grabs you.
3.9 Slightly hazy yellow colour. Aroma is spicy, lemony, floral with some herbal infusion notes. Taste is tart, lemony, dry but not too astringent, well balanced overall. Medium body and carbonation. Really nice one.
3.9 Bottle. Outstanding beer - loved the balance and spicey notes. Mild finish but super good
4.0 Barwa żółta, piana nie wysoka. Aromat brettowy, lekka stajnia, brzoskwinie, cytrusy, lekkie przyprawy. W smaku bretty, przyprawy, morele, brzoskwinie. Pifko jest najpierw kwaśne, potem soczyste owocowe a finisz goryczkowo przyprawowy. Mega pijalne, alko całkowicie ukryte. Dobre pifko.
3.9 Bottle. Hazy yellow with a thick, foamy, white head that lasts in a big way and laces. Aromas of straw, tart lemon, yeast, spice, light wood, herbal notes, and apple. Flavor is the same tart lemon and apple with straw, yeast and wood in the middle finishing up with spice and herbal notes. Light bodied, crisp and smooth with a dry, carbonated finish. Refreshing and easy to drink.
4.2 Alkohol: 8% obj. Butelka: 375 ml Data butelkowania: 22.09.2016 Kolor: Żółty, słoneczny kolor. Piwo jest mętne. Piana: Umiarkowana, biała jak śnieg piana. Przez pewien czas pozostaje na powierzchni. Mocno brudzi ścianki szkła. Lacing godny mistrzów. Zapach: Pachnie na prawdę genialne! Początkowo sporo brettów, aromat piwnicy skórzanej derki. Po chwili nos atakują owocowe nuty. Ogrom pomarańczy, mandarynek, brzoskwiń i moreli. Z oddali dochodzi woń przyprawowych akcentów (pieprz, gałka muszkatołowa, goździk). Czuć także mokre drewno i dębową wanilię. Po ogrzaniu uaktywnia się guma balonowa. Rewelka! Ogromna pijalność i lekkość degustacji. Oro de Calabaza polecam z całego serca!
4.0 Bottle from Stanislaus Brewskovitch, Zwolle. Bretty, tart and funky aroma with grainy malt, peppery yeast, citrus, wood, bread dough, grass, notes of lemon. Flavour is tart and moderate sour with a light bitterness in the finish. Body is medium. Nicely complex and funky, quite tasty!
3.1 Cerveza supuestamente de estilo Belgian Ale, pero increiblemente ácida para este tipo
4.1 Draft at Hops & Pie 3-14-17 (last night in Denver) Previously at 3.9
3.6 Bottle. Bought Aug 2017; BB undated; Drank Jan 2018 - Hazy pale yellow in colour. Large foamy white head. Fruity; sour fruity, citrus lemon, rind, green apples. Yeasty; light funk. Spicy; peppery. Malty; light caramel, wheaty. Hoppy; light hops. Quite dry. Moderately sour citrus fruity yeasty spicy throughout. Good. (2018-01)
3.9 I do think that this one is more of a sour ale than a belgian ale. It is a very good pumpkin ale, part of the LCBO 2017 Summer Beer Program.
4.3 Bottle. Appearance: clear light yellow golden, nice thick white foam getting into thin laces, low and subtle carbonation. Smell: very subtle brettanomyces, perhaps bread/cereals, very smooth vinegar. Taste: notes of lemon, bread and very smooth funk, nice low sourness and sugar, great texture and feel, medium drinkability. Overall: high quality and awesomely balanced beer, was expecting more complexity, but still highly enjoyable.
4.6 Light golden yellow with quickly dissipated white head. Sweet a bit floral. Kind of complex with a small bit of hops. Great complex beer from JP
3.0 D-. Pours a hazy yellow color with white head. Very tart, almost undrinkable
3.7 ciekawe, czuć beczkę, przyprawowo-ziołowe aromaty, dość wytrawne, krótka ale tępa goryczka
3.4 Draught at Beer Temple. Hazy lemon with a medium head. Aroma of spicy perfume. Flavour is spicy yeast, fruit and perfume. Warm booze, hoppy fruit finish.
Excellente.
4.2 Wow. Pours hazy pure gold with bright white head. Aroma of lime sorbet, pepper, barnyard and of course oak. Very oak forward with a hint of that malt peaking through the wild funk. not over dry but a clean finish. Very interesting.
4.2 Bottle from Clapton Craft. Failed Xmas cellaring attempt here... not upset though as this is sublime. Perfect marriage of the wild yeast character, apple sweetness and subtle oak. Really really top drawer stuff
3.8 Damn, should read other reviews before, and not after opening beers. Another big volcano all-over, so "open over sink", even if not moving the bottle at all. Other than that, the rest seems like a real good brew (so sad to lose a bit of it). Gets hazy at last pour, golden-orange, off-white cap and some creamy lace. Brett nose with the funk aromas, mild sweet Belgian Ale yeast (or sugars) and apple notes. Same for taste with the earthiness, tartiness. Decent grass for the style. Everything is very well-balanced and the alcohol is nicely hidden.
