2.3 Mooi donker, roodbruin bier. Moutig bier mèt smaken van koffie, zoethout en toets caramel. Redelijk bruisend. Lichte rinsheid waarneembaar.
4.0 Bottle. Black with a small head. Lovely malty flavour with a medium body. A good example of this style which I find very pleasant. In fact virtually every beer of this style that I have tried has been very drinkable.
3.2 (~cerise, µ-fraise, miel brun, onctueuse, un peu trop métallique-h2o, raisin sec, ~cannelle, µ-muscade, cola, > simplet)
3.3 33cl fles. Medium koolzuurprikkel. Afdronk: wat koffie, klein zuurtje, licht zoet.
3.8 (Rate 06/10/18: 6-4-7-3-14 = 3.4) Strange I never rated it before. From draught, hazy brown with an off-white head. Aroma and taste malty, caramel, chestnut. Nice balance between medium sweet and light bitter. It's an OK bock. (Re-rate 24/10/20: 6-3-7-3-13 = 3.2) Bottle from supermarket at home. Ruby dark-brown pour with beige head; falling down far too easily. Rather little aroma; bit caramel, bit dark malts. Taste is indeed in good balance between not too sweet and mild bitter. Not a very striking bock beer, but well balanced. (Re-rate 19/09/22: 7-4-8-4-15 = 3.8) Now specifically "chocolate and red fruit" on the label. Has it become darker? Opaque nearly black pour with creamy beige head; decent retention this time. Mild aroma has indeed chocolate and dark malts; fruits are rather faint though. Taste is nice: dark chocolate and indeed a red-fruity sense, in a good balance between the mild dark bitterness and moderate sweetness. Firm body. Like it far better this time, although this brew goes towards a porter.
2.6 Flesje uit sixpack Dirk. Aparte bok. Lekkere gebrande smaak
3.9 28. 9, 2018, Amsterdam w/ Ico & Wike. On tap. Nice bitter sweet taste, not overdone and pleasant to drink.
4.1 Rich, sweet, malty, nutty -- caramel, chocolate, biscuit and toffee notes coming through too. Full of flavour, full bodied and very enjoyable.
3.7 Pours brown with a foamy beige head. Nice aroma of caramel and smoke. Flavor is nice and a bit understated. I enjoyed this beer but probably wont revisit it.
3.7 330ml bottle @ Crown, Oakengates. Pours dark brown, small off-white topping. Aroma is moderately sweet, nutty grain. Taste is smooth, light, similar with an appealing caramel sweetness, rye, nutty woody grain. Tasty.
4.2 Heerlijk bokbier van Jopen. Donker, volle smaak, caramel. Prima! Uit Haarlem.
4.0 Fles 33cl thuis. Caramel, gebrande smaak, wat zoet. Ook bitter. Stoutachtig. Gerst, rogge, haver, tarwe. (12-2011).
3.4 Pours opaque dark brown with a beige head that dilapidates quickly. Intense malty aroma. Slightly watery body. Flavours are malt, some spice, some booze. Quite ok, but not among the top Bock beers.
3.3 resin, floral, grass, spruce, citrus, herbs, caramel, bread, hay, cereal, coffee, nuts, toast, roasty, dough, pale, golden, amber, orange, red, brown, cloudy, sparkling, minimal head, white foam, tan foam, frothy, rocky head,
3.0 Bottle from the source. Clear amber brown color light tan head. Aroma of lightly boozy caramel. Taste is boozy brown bread, lightly sweet
3.0 330ml bottle. Clear deep amber color. Medium size, beige head, stays. Malty, sweet, fruity in aroma. Sweet, malty, bready and caramel in taste. Sweet, caramel and malty in aftertaste. Solid brew.
3.5 Sold as 4 Granenbock. Murky, muddy. Dark brown. Thin, off-white head. Aroma is quite malty with some plum. Taste is quite fruity with some plum and wood notes.
3.4 330 ml bottle as 4 Granen Bokbier. Pours dark brown with beige creamy head. Dark chocolate, smoke, burnt malts, roasted bread crumps, raisins. Medium bitterness and malty sweetness; very balanced taste. Creamy to watery texture, full bodied, dry malty finish, soft carbonated. Good and not too heavy Bockbier.
4.2 Goede bok. Niet zoet, moutig, donker. Prima.
3.0 Jan 2019. 330ml dark bottle, unfiltered, from BeerWulf. Yep, malty little beer with attractive flavours. Just a tad disappointed at the mouthfeel for a 6.5% beer. But that appears to be a fairly standard response from me toward a strong dark lager. [2.9] Jan 2018. 330ml dark bottle, unfiltered, from an online store as Jopen Bokbier. Decently malty, but a little spritzy and a little thin for my personal pleasure. Nicely medicinal with attractive clove and alcohol aroma. Where it falls away for me is the watery mouthfeel, and that the flavour in the mouth doesn't quite get a grip - though it tantalises. As the carbonation burns off so more flavour comes through with some intriguing butter popcorn notes . On the whole I like this. [3.0]
3.3 Przyjemne . Pozostaje ciekawy posmak.
3.1 At Café De Zwaan, Maastricht. Shared with Anke. Labeled 'Jopen Bok 2017' on the blackboard. Pours hazy dark brown with a foamy, tan head. The aroma contains yeast, caramel, some iron, hops, light roasted malt, hint of dark fruits. It tastes medium caramel-like sweet and light hoppy bitter; sweetish, short finish. Light body, slick texture, soft carbonation. Less convincing in aroma and lacking some punch compared to the Bock of the house at De Zwaan.
3.4 Trocken laubStaubig & amberDubbelig😋...Fassware im CAFE DE KLIKSPAAN in Groningen...
3.6 Bottle. Color: Dark brown, thin off-white head. Taste: Roasted malt, notes of brown sugar, caramel. Hints of nuts, raisins. Above medium body, average carbonation. Nice bokbier.
3.0 Bokbier met een zoet smaakje. De smaak verdwijnt snel. Niet slecht, maar er zijn betere bokken.
3.3 Murky brown beer with a huge head that quickly goes away. There should be more syles in the bock chapter as you can not compare thais with the malty german (doppel)bockd, nor with the sweet dutch slumber beers. This is more a crossover to the american stouts with caramel and chocolate in the taste. Basically the beer is OK, it's just a bit watery.
3.4 Brown coloured bock with a small tan head. Aroma: malty, sweet and some nuts. Taste: malty, spicy, some sweetness, some rye malt and some roasted malts
