A 4-grain Imperial Stout ... A multi-grain beer with 38% rye, 24% oats and a touch of wheat. Traditional English Brown Malt tends to add strong coffee and chocolate tones. The result: a beer with full body (DeMolen) along with loads of grain (Jopen). A beautiful combination of flavors!

Fad: Kulsort øl med et mokkafarvet skumkrone. Duftener sødligmalt meden del rosin i sig. Smagen er meget rosin præget og meget fyldig. Gør øllen meget sødmen langsomt vokser det på dig og gør øllen rigtig fin. God øl.

Aromat średnio-intensywny, słodka kawa, czekolada, kakao, niuanse orzechowe w tle.
W smaku pełne i lekko słodkie, gorzka gęsta czekolada, kakao, słodzona kawa, pralinki czekoladowe, średnio-niska goryczka, popiołowa. ALkohol rozgrzewający.
(641 napja palackozták) Közepes, örökké tartó barna hab, fekete szín. Csokis, kakaós, kávés illatok, komoly aszalt gyümölcsös és némi fűszeres beütéssel. Kissé édeskés, csokis, kávés, kakaóporos, aszalt szilvás, aszalt cseresznyés ízvilág, némi fűszeres és talán áfonyás aromákkal. Testes, enyhén szénsavas, közepesen keserű. Isteni sör.
Pours thick black with a thin, tan head. Aroma is cocoa, molasses and roast. Taste is dark chocolate and brown sugar, warming to coffee and rich roast, with a hint of licorice. Finish is strong roast malt. A very good stout.
Nice stout. Little bit alcoholic, but apart from this everything on place: caco, mals, vanilla, wood, caramel. Good one.
Bottle from Corti Bros. Pours dark brn/blk with a tan head. Aroma of chocolate and very dark toffee. Full bodied. Flavor is very dark treacle, coffee, dark, dark chocolate. And something like dates. Dates coated in dark chocolate. Gets some definite anise in the finish.
Bottle shared by bhensonb. Pours near black with a nice tan head and a chocolate and treacle aroma. There is a full-bodied fruity chocolate flavor with a dry finish.
Pours black into a snifter. Mocha head with good retention recedes to hug rim. Soy and chocolate aromas. Sweet licorice and soy upfront turning to chocolate before the dry, lasting pit fruit finish.
Bottle - thick black pour - nose of bittersweet chocolate, tobacco, smoke, espresso - super creamy texture and well-masked alcohol - light smoke, medium sweet chocolate, blueberry, light umami on the tail end - tasty.
Big fan of this weird but beautifull stout. Best of both worlds looking at the brewery. Lots and lots of rye, lots of oats and a nice coffee and cacao kick. Far from "the best" stouts that i drank but a league of it's own though in creativity and taste.
Gitzwart met mooie compacte mokkakleurige schuimkraag die redelijk snel inzakt. Noten, caramel, koffie, peperkoek, dadels, rozijnen, beetje roast. Licht zoetig met fijne mildbittere afdronk. Mooie balans, smaken komen goed door. Lichte prikkeling op het tandvlees. Heel goede stout.

Bottle. Pours opaque black, medium creamy brown head, dissipates slowly, nice lacing. Aroma is roasty, burnt, anise, molasses, dark chocolate, ashtray, leather. Flavor is light sweet, medium plus bitter, leather, molasses. Full body, creamy mouthfeel.
Próbka na biedapanelu przy okazji LAN party. Piana drobna, beżowa. Aromat wyraźnie palony, gorzka czekolada, kawa. W smaku wyraźnie kawowe, zaskakuje nieco wysokie wysycenie. Długi, palony finisz, aż nieco popielniczkowo się robi. Ciało raczej średnie, alkohol względnie ukryty. Przypadło mi do gustu, lubię takie agresywnie palone imperiale.
Bottle from K&L in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is licorice, charred cherry and vanilla, dark coffee roast, herbal liqueur (like almost Jägermeister). Taste is licorice, hints of Jägermeister, dark coffee...loads of bitter coffee and herbal liqueur. A bit intense at first but definitely mellows out as it warms and your palate adjusts. Reminded me a bit of De Molen's Hell & Damnation in both name and flavor (and probably some shared qualities here).
31-12-17 // bottle shared. Pitch black, beige creamy head. Nose of roasted malts. Aroma of bitter chocolate, coffee, dry roasted malts. Great.
12oz btl pours a muddy black with swirling tan head. Nose is extremely vinous, winey, heavy oak and toast, marzipan, malt. Flavor is more straight up, malt, brown sugar, toast, burnt wood, burnt sugar, dark chocolate. Full bodied and also dry.
11.2 oz bottle from Party Source. Pours a dark cola brown color with a medium sized khaki colored head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malt, dark chocolate, spicy rye, hints of oatmeal sweetness, earthy, dark fruits, dry, falls a little short on the fullness the best stouts have, still very good.
Tallahassee, Fl - Market Square Liquors - 11.2 oz bottle. Deep, dark purple-black, tar-like pour, thin, but persistent mocha colored head. Aroma of chocolate with a touch of licorice and marshmallows. Succulent flavor, reminds me of a very moist chocolate cake, some licorice accents, a hint of top soil, black coffee, most importantly, no soy sauce.Thick, sticky mouthfeel. Most excellent.
33cl bottle from Brouwcafé de Molen (Bodegraven) and enjoyed at home in a snifter on 29-Oct-2017. Black with a medium sized tan coloured head. Aroma of sweet malt, cocao nibs and spices. Full body and soft/medium carbonation. Taste of dark chocolate, roasted malt, dark fruit, a little coffee. Bittersweet alcoholic finish.

(Keg at Amsterdam, 20171017) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts, liquorice and soy sauce. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, sweetness, liquorice, ash and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, burnt and bitter. A nice strong stout that hid its ABV rather well.
Bottle. Black body with tan head. Aroma is caramel roasted malts fruits caramel hints of alcohol. Taste is malts caramel some dried fruits and hints of alcohol and coffee. Aftertaste is nice balanced. Nice one.

Pours black with nice tan head. Moderate head retention, little lacing. Roasty, cocoa, some sweet nose. Mediumto full body, soft carbonation, oily texture. Taste is roasty, cocoa, spicy, little coffee, Robust and chewy. Enjoyable.
(Draught at Jopenkerk, Haarlem, 27 July 2017) Black colour with creamy, brown head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of black rye bread, dark chocolate, cacao and liquorice. Malty, roasted taste with sweet liquorice, dark chocolate, black rye bread and a sweetish finish with a balanced cacao bitterness. Full body, with a certain sweetness. On the sweet side, but solid and tasty imperial stout. Very nice.

Apperance: An opaque pitch black body,with a medium to full sized creamy dark brown head that lasts for a decent while and leaves fair to good lacing. Aroma and taste are both malts, dark malts, soft roastyness,, light liquorice, a bit of chocolate, and gentle malty bitterness. Thick oily texture, soft carbonation, full body.
But a bit predictable, but really good executed.
Bottle at home, black beer, small head. Aroma is malt, roasted, coffee, choco, dark fruit. Taste is the same, bitter with some sweetness, very rich and thick, nice one.
