3.7 28-08-20 // KKR-Tasting - Special Ingredients: very surprised by this one. Great balance. A malt forward body. Darker malts. Bread. Dried fruits. Warming up more herbs/gruit. Mint (polaris like), dry frassy herbalness blending in the sweeter malt body.
3.2 33cl Bottle @ Saveur-Biere, Fretin, France. Reddish brown colour with a thin white head. Aroma is yeast, herbs. Taste is yeast, herbs, malt, sweet. Medium body, average carbonation.
3.0 Pours murky brown with a small head. Aroma like Easter: rye pudding, raisin, cyrup and also something herbal. Taste is a decent enough combination of dry and sweet: sweet dark malts and yeast, some cyrup and licorice, little bit of nuts and anise along with dry hops. Low carbonation. Medium bodied, although a bit watery. Gentle short hoppy finish. Exotic strong beer with some unique character.
3.2 Godt krydret, aner af frugt, Gran/gin ganske habil øl
2.8 Taste of pine and fruits - very potent; but accessible.
3.8 On tap at Gollem - Amstelstraat, pours a cloudy, murky dark reddish brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of earthy notes, soil, dark fruits, and a bit of pine needles. Flavour is very fruity and earthy, with plenty of pine needles, earth, dark fruits, and caramel. Really comes together nicely - the earth, spiciness, fruitiness - really solid.
2.5 Bottle at home. Dark color, middle foam size. Good balanced beer. Drinkable and fits into style.
3.5 330ml bottle watching Series 4 of The Man in the High Castle, thanks MonsterMagnet for this! Pours a hazed deep brown with reddish hue, off white head. Rich herbal aroma, continuing to taste. Interesting herbal concoction, sweet dark toffee and liquorice hints, dark malt, dried dark fruits. Presents an old-style ale character feel pretty well. Not a go-to beer style for me, but this is pleasantly warming on a cold Autumn evening.
3.6 Bottle, 0.33l. Aroma of caramel, cereals, dandelion syrup, alcohol, flowers and herbs. Pours cloudy amber brown color with thick creamy tan-like head, some residue floating and sparkling appearance. Taste starts with sweet toasted malt and dried fruity, following is grassy, herbal and slightly medicinal, mouthfeel is mild spicy, while finish is mild bitter. Medium to full body, thick texture and average carbonation in palate. Sweet gruit...
3.6 0,33 l bottle. Pours hazy reddish brown with medium, quite quickly dissipating light tan head. Nose is yeast, sweet, hard herbal candy, but also malty, toffee, and a bit earthy, light alcohol. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter. Finish is long, herbal with much more expressed bitterness. Alcohol is quite well hidden, but it warms the stomach in a nice way.
3.6 Bottle 0,33L. Clear, ruby color with small, off-white head. Aroma of ripped fruits, apple pie and malts. Taste is light sweet and fruity. Medium body, fry texture, soft carbonation. Interesting beer.
3.8 Bottle from summer eurosanta, a missing style for me, many thanks! Yeasty, herbal nose. Tastes sweetish, honey, herbs, yeasty, warming alcohol. Tasty.
3.4 Tap from Jopenkerk, Haarlem. Hazy light brown appearance. Aroma is malt, toffee, earthy and syrup. Flavour is cherry, syrup, fruity, sweet and toffee.
3.1 Thin off white head stayed on a reddish brown still body. Dry herbal aroma. Medium bodied, soft on the palate with a creamy back. Herbal, medicinal, aniseed, bitter tastes.
3.4 Bottle.Ruby brown colour with small head.Aroma of herbs and spices hint of caramel and malt, nice warming mouthfeels and hint of bread and dark roasted hops.
3.8 Barwa piękna, brązowo-bursztynowa, zamglone, opalizujące. Piana obfita, kremowa, z lacingiem.
3.6 Really cool beer, great malt body with a very flowery bitterness. Not overtly different, but really unique. hop cult dresden
3.4 330ml bottle. Amber brown colour with reddish tinge, beige foamy head leaving lots of lacing and aroma of malt, spiced, herby. Taste is sweet malt, caramel, molasses, floral, herbal, spiced, with earthy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, lingering sweet malty spiced finish. Quite drinkable.
2.4 330ml bottle at home. Pours opaque ruby brown with a beige head. Aroma: moderate malty, roasted, yeasty, caramel, dried fruits. Taste: moderate sweet & bitter, dried fruits, root vegetables, spices, herbal. Dry-ish, herbal finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Not my cup of tea
2.5 Copenhagen 17/3 2019. 33 cl bottle from Meny, Østerfælled Torv, Kbh Ø. Part of a Jopen Gift box including a very small beer glass. Jopens usual design in Green with a little Church and the tagline “Crafting Divine Beer”. Pours unclear amber with small off-white head. Settles as patchy, thin layer of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. Aroma is strangely lemonade-ish, malty and very herbal. Anise, ginger, caramel, citrus, brown bread. Medium carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft texture. Flavor is rather sweet. Followed by a light sourness. Aftertaste is sweet and quite herbal. Lingers shortly. If you are into New Nordic Beers where they have found some obscure herb which can replace the hops this might be your thing.
3.8 Aroma: wybertjes, drop, laurier, zeepsop Uiterlijk: - Smaak: beetje zoet/nauwelijks bitter/lichtzuur en chemisch, kruidig, drop Mondgevoel: - Opmerkingen: mooi in balans, goed doordrinkbaar
3.5 Bottle, from The Wine Source, Baltimore. Pours cloudy reddish brown with large foamy beige head, caramel malt aroma with dried fruits, low carbonation, medium bitter caramel taste with spicy flavor, smooth body, long finish. Very smooth and easy to drink, delicious.
3.0 Is mij een beetje te zuur
2.6 Brown with very little head and a malty smell with some yeast, apples and pears. Sweet, very much so... but there's a bitter edge I hadn't expected in a hopless ale. I detected little depth or complexity... but enjoyed it slightly more than I thought I would.
