2.5 Bottle, Ann Arbor, MI. Pale gold, slight haze. Corn and spice aroma. Sweet, very mild with more sweet honey and faint white pepper. Lingering metallic finish.
2.7 12 ounce bottle. Pours a clear yellow color with a medium white head. A sweet fruity honey nose. The flavor is light sweet malts, sort of metallic and dirty. Light. Ok.
3.0 Gold pour, decent white head at first. Nose is straight ahead malt. Little more sweet than bitter. Middle is bread, hay, little hard fruit. Finish is still malty sweet.. OK.
3.3 12 oz. bottle from Trader Joe’s. It pours a nice clear, rich golden color with a white head. The aroma has lots of honeyed pale malt with hints of herbal, earthy hops. The flavor is pretty much the same with slight apple hints, honey and herbal hop flavor and bitterness. Really nice medium bodied and rich on the palate for the style. I liked this.
3.2 12 oz bottle, from 6 pack, from Trader Joe’s for around $6 for six-pack, sign said "$1.08/bottle" Aroma: Czech hops, spicy, maybe Saaz, but definitely spicy hops Appearance: Golden, clear, white head Taste: light bitterness Palate: light body, thin texture, average carbonation, bitter finish Overall: I’m a big fan of Saaz hops, but I haven’t had a lot of Bohemian Style Lagers, so when I saw this for $6 at Trader Joes I had to grab it. Good price. The taste doesn’t necessarily scream Saaz, maybe some other hops used, but it’s not a bad lager by any means. Good value for money. Has an almost bubblegum quality to taste, maybe from yeast or maybe from using other hops. Nice light bodied lager.
2.0 Single bottle for a $1. Highly carbonated and a little sweet. Very light and drinkable.
3.1 Crystal clear light golden with a thin white head and plenty of lacing. Highly carbonated. A little tart and acidic. Tastes grassy and floral. Very balanced and quite pleasant.
2.5 1/19/2015. Bottle from Trader Joe’s. Golden with a white head. Aromas are corn, hay, wet grass, malt. Acidic and buttery texture. Bland flavors.
2.9 Pedestrian label, standard longneck. Clear, bright citrine beer with a wispy white head. Light, grainy-sweet lager malt aroma. Grainy, slightly sweet, oat tones, a little olive brine in the flavor. Crisp mouthfeel, medium to slightly light body, eurohops cling just a tad in the aftertaste. TJ’s Tallahassee.
3.2 Tallahassee, Fl - Trader Joe’s - 12 oz bottle. Sparkling medium golden pour, soft, thin white head, no lacing. Aroma has some bready accents, a touch of spent grain. Classic lager flavor, a touch of bready maltiness, a touch of honey sweetness. Crisp mouthfeel. Pretty decent and a great price at TJ’s ($1.17).
2.9 6-Pack from Trader Joes’s. Non distinct aroma and appearance. Classic medium body with a nice white head. Taste is hops with hints of corn, pine and a slightly seer caramel finish. Drinks easy, not bad especially given the price.
3.3 Trader Joes bottle - 12oz. Poured a clear golden color with a pretty large white head. Aroma was notes of toasted malts, light grassy hops, some earthy notes. Flavor was grassy hops, light grain. Middle of the road. Great value though for what you’re getting.
2.7 12 oz bottle. BB 02/18/15. (Trader Joe’s) Greenville, SC. Clear golden colour with a small white head. Grassy hops, moderate bitterness and grainy malt in the aroma. The flavour is cardboardy malt, grassy hops and some bitterness. Not the worst Pilsener but a bit cardboardy.
2.3 "more refreshing than the vienna lager, and therefore better. nothing that’ll blow you away, but for $5 a six-pack? i’ll give that a light recommendation."
3.5 355ml Bottle. So TJ’s markets 2 different czech pilseners. This one is a biiit on the lighter side for a bohemian lager, nice qhite head, large carbonation bubbles. Smell is sweet with pie crust and spices, dense malt character underneath. Flavor is spicy and bready, fairly dry with a mild but noticeable noble bitterness. Bit of bittersweetness in the finish that reminds you it is czech and not a german pils. Its good for what it is, a toastier, maltier alternative to Urquell.
2.5 This is too sweet and not bitter enough for a Pilsner, I would say. It is closer to a helles, I suppose. I don’t really care about that but I do care that this is really just not all that great. It is orange in color w/ a small white head and lacing in patches. Its nose is honey-like malt and some grassy hops. Taste, as I mentioned, is a touch on the sweet side and what little bitterness it has has a slight medicinal edge to it. It is medium bodied and not too heavy despite its sweetness and finishes w/ a lingering bit of vague fruitiness and slightly metallic bitterness. This is actually close to being a really good beer. If it were dryer and the hop character more pleasant, it’d be excellent, but this is a style where you pay for every little mistake and this beer surely does.
2.5 Nice aroma of sweet bread and spicy, peppery hops. Deep golden color wiht a thin white head. Weak off-sweat malt flavor up front. Floowed by peppery, spicy hops. Watery in mouth feel. Finishes with some sweetness and spicy hops and a little salty. Average.
3.2 A little more crisp than the Plznr from the same brewery but still not as crisp as a true Czech pils. Good beer though.
2.8 Bottle into gl a ss.. bright hazy yellow pour with white head..aroma is citrus ..lemonpeel.. taste is taste is light fruit.. metalic ligtn finish..ok
2.0 Bottle. Pours golden with a thick white head a lots of large bubbles. Faint pine aroma. Pretty big malt up front with minimal hop flavor. Also, a metallic or iron flavor that is off putting. Not good.
3.3 Pours a medium dark yellow wit a thick dense white head. The nose is clean cereal. The palate is medium body with upfront malt and s,edium hop bitterness. A good USA rep of the style.
3.3 Thin head and Pale golden in color. Slight citrus and grass aroma. Flavor is very clean and crisp. No real hops flavor but very drinkable as it warms up slightly in the glass. I’d purchase again.
4.0 JosephsBrau Bohemian Style Lager has a thick, off-white head, a clear, bubbly, golden appearance, and lots of rather heavy lacing left on the glass. The aroma is of sweetness, biscuit, and grassy hop oil. Taste is of those elements, as well, and the bitterness is substantial enough to impress. Yeast is picked up, too. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and JosephsBrau Bohemian Style Lager finishes dry, easy going, and refreshing. RJT
2.8 Hazy medium gold - mild nose of pils malt.and lightly grassy hops, as well as some moderate acidity and some floral notes - sadly, there is also a mild creamed corn quality - flavor is moderately.sweet, lightly bitter, wifh some tangy acidity amd grassy hops on the tail end - throughout, there are mild.unclean notes of dms and diacetyl - as wifh their other pils, the recipe has potential, but they have to clean up the fermentation.
2.0 bottle. Pale golden with one finger head. The redeeming feature of this is that it’s cheap. It’s your basic crap lager. Light grassy body with slight hops.
1.9 Bottle from pikapp327. Light pour with a small head. Little to no aroma or taste. Kinda gross and kinda grainy. Weird finish.
2.9 Straw gold pour, visible carbonation. Clean nose, mild grass. Taste is balanced, I guess the best description is not offensive because it's pretty bland with some grass on the finish. Light body, slam able.
3.0 From the 12 fl.oz bottle with a best by date of 07/17/14. The pour is yellow to golden yellow with a quick lasting white fizzy head. The aroma is of pale malts, biscuit, butter, and grass. The body is light. The taste begins with the malty and buttery character I mentioned with a rather vibrant crisp, clean hop bite at the finish. Not bad.
2.7 Pours classic lager gold with a reasonable soapy white head that settles to a rim and yeasty coat. Aroma is pale malts, corn and biscuits. Taste is toasted malt and hay - and corn-sweet - with a moderate noble hop finish and some bitterness lingering. Pretty drinkable - a few would do. Nothing memorable, but a fairly enjoyable lager. This is what Bud/Miller/Coors should be.
2.7 Bottle->pilsener. Clear light gold with medium frothy white head. A: grains, grass, citrus, malt. T: same, crisp and refreshing, though not the tastiest of beers.
