Brewed from the finest malted barley, hops, yeast, and water.

Ed. note: The label states that the brewery is Steinhaus, which does not own a facility. This beer appears to be brewed at two facilities, the second one being August Schell in New Ulm, MN.

2.5 "pretty much what you expect at 5.99 a sixer. decent malt backbone and some floral hops in the aroma. balanced but malt leaning flavor, on the light side, with an unassuming body."
3.9 Bought this at Trader Joe’s. Cheap 6 pack. Wanted to try something new. Just like 2 buck Chuck, this beer is very palatable and easy to drink. No frills, but pretty solid.
3.2 Bottle from TJs. Nice amber color and average beige head. Hard to pin down the aroma, a little malty. Tasted a little like lemon iced tea, a little grassy. Pretty thin. Just ok.
2.8 bottle into glasas, shared with myself, I oculdnt figure out what it smelled likem, so I asked my son and he said it smells like "blue" I don’t know what that means, but its fruit, and some maple, nut, slight vanilla, decent I suppose
3.3 Aroma of sweet bread, hints of caramel. Nice light brown/orange color. Tan head....holds nicley. Sweet malt is first taste. Tatste of cereal, and bready yeast also. Nice bitterness comes in next, nice contrast to the sweat malt. Finishes with a heavier bitternss, but some fo the sweetness lingers for balance. Rich mouth feel. Pleasantly surprised.
2.7 Bottle, Trader Joe’s. Quite sturdy and somewhat odd aroma, not that pronounced finish.
4.0 Jumping Cow Amber Ale has a very thick, beige head, a clear, bubbly, amber appearance, and heavy lacing left on the glass. The aroma is of tannic, sweet, brown bread crust, and the taste is of those elements, with pleasant, appropriately bitter hops and even a mildy citric aspect. The mouthfeel is medium and slick, and Jumping Cow Amber Ale finishes semi-dry, easy-drinking, and refreshing. RJT
3.0 Trader joes. A buck. Pours a dark amber color with a small white head. A light fruity and dusty malt nose. Sweet, some toffee, caramel, spices, smooth toast. Ok. Very light.
2.6 An mediocre amber ale. Picked it up at Trader Joes in DC in 2014. Light, slightly stale sweetness. Little bitterness and watery.
2.5 12 ounce bottle from Trader Joe’s in Kansas City. Pours amber with a small beige head. Mild aroma of malt, caramel, and fruit. Taste is caramel malt, bit of fruit, and a bit of grass. Kind of boring, but drinkable.
2.8 This beer was hard to rate it may be me but it is basically flavorless...its not good or bad its just there....pour was a nice amber color....nice head...it had the lacing i like...just no flavor...maybe some light hops ....its tastes like flavored water....but then again i finished my pint,so it was drinkable.
2.7 On tap at Lazy Dog, Erie. Pours amber, thin white head. Aroma is a little boring, a brief nose of red apple, not much else. Think it is mainly the pint glass it was served in, because I am picking up a whiff of bar sanitizer. Body is light, hints of caramel, sugar, malt, and mild bitterness. Was okay.
3.0 Pours slightly reddish amber with a thin white head that dissipates quickly. Moderate lacing. Nose is malty with a light note of raisin. Taste is slightly bitter - pleasingly so. Medium body, lively carbonation. Solid brew.
3.4 12oz bottle from Trader Joe’s in Tallahassee. Amber pour, light tan head. Aroma is toasty, caramel, sweet, brown sugar. Tastes are caramel malt, nutty, little pine, tea. Pretty decent - certainly compared to some of the other random TJ’s brews I’ve tried lately.
2.8 bottle. Amber with small head. Mediocre amber ale. Caramel malt. Rather bland flavor profile.
3.1 Bottle, kindly donated by fairy. Very nice amber color. Aroma od caramel yummy, very nice. Medium body and I miss aftertaste. Good beer.
3.4 Bottled. Clear dark copper color with white head. Caramel, coffee, cocoa aromas, recognised also in taste. Medium bodied oily texture with lively carbonation. Pleasant bitterness in aftertaste. Tasty beer.
3.3 Bottle, kindly donated by fajry. Amber color with medium white head. Aroma of caramel malt, honey, notes of chocolate. Taste, roasted malt, caramel, honey, notes of coffee, floral hops. Light hoppy finish. Good.
2.8 Bottle by Fajry.many thanks! Malty and fruity aroma reminding me of marmalade. Taste of bitter fruit and malt. Aroma still of dark chocolate and roasted malt a bit. Overall not bad, but the finish somehow is a blend of bitterness and dark chocolate.
2.8 Bottle. Aroma is mostly caramel, light coffee. Taste is hoppy. Pretty plain, grassy. Finish is tart and earthy.
3.3 Bottle, courtesy of Fajry. Pours amber color, white head. Aroma is honey, caramel, hoppy. Taste is caramel, cocoa, bitter, medium sweet. Caramel bittersweet finish.
3.2 Doughy, a little medium-toast malt, a little musty. Standard US longneck, clear, medium bronze beer, thin whitish head. Tasted better than it smells, nicely bitter, fairly dry, a bit mossy, a little peaty. Woody, bitter finish. Trader Joe’s, Tallahassee.
3.7 Decent beer didn't live up to my expectations though considering the brewer. Big still good.
2.6 Bottle->session. Amber/brown with huge offwhite head. A: seet malt, nuts, hay. T: caramel amd roasted malt; strongly metallic. Not good.
2.5 Dark Brown Amber, Small Head, Decent Lacing. Faint Toasted Malt Aroma. Toasted Malt, Modest Bitter Finish, Slight sour yeast Aftertaste. Rather Bland. Average at best. Pass it.
2.4 Malty. A little more roasted than I was expecting. Medium body but it feels a bit heavy. Not much in terms of fruits or floral notes which would really open this beer up.
2.4 Mild malts with slight hop flavors. sweet metallic caramel. Not very smooth.
3.2 Jumping Cow Amber Ale is a wonderful looking, super clear, deep amber ale that has light, frothy, sand colored lacing. The aroma is mostly of dark malt extract and caramel. There’s a hint of grassiness. It’s medium-light bodied, gritty and metallic. It leaves the mouth and teeth feeling pretty dirty. This seems to be a focus on caramel malt and that’s the main flavor here. It’s countered with a wooden, resiny sort of bitterness. It picks up some black pepper, juniper and sweetness after the swallow. It’s a loud flavor. This kind of seems like a home brew. It seems a little rough to me. There’s something unpleasant about the bitterness. Is it soapiness? This tastes twice as strong as it is.
2.6 12oz bottle. Pours a dull amber color with minimal head. Aroma was lightly caramel and just a touch bitter. Flavors were bland and uninteresting. I’m really surprised that a California brewery allowed this to escape their bottling line. It’s not terrible, but it is far too boring.
2.8 Location/Date:Bottle on December 11th, 2012. Appearance: Pours a dark amber copper. Aroma: Aroma of caramel. Taste: Caramel, little bitterness, faint soap flavor, sweet. Palate:Light body, faint fizz. Summary: An okay amber ale. Maybe this bottle is a bit old, taste is solid but missing something.
