3.333cl bottle at home. Appearance: slightly hazy golden with stable medium sized white head. Aroma: nutmeg, spice, lavender, floral and some plastic.
Taste: medium sweetness and fairly high bitterness. Notes of nutmeg, floral, spice, soapy. The finish is dry and quite wry. Palate: medium bodied, oily texture and lively carbonation. Overall: Pretty okay, nice dry finish, but there is something slightly astringent in aroma and taste. Plastic like. It also missed the funky saison character.
3.1Stark karbonisierter Antrunk. Fein hefig, trocken herb, wenig alkoholisch. Spritzig, der Alkohol Touch bleibt vorhanden, trockener Nachhall. 10/9/10/9//9
3.033cl Bottle @ Saveur-Biere, Lille, France.
Hazy amber colour with a thin white head.
Aroma is yeast, citrus, malt.
Taste is yeast, citrus, spices, fruits, malt.
Medium body, average carbonation.
3.7Bottle from Ah. Small sample. The aroma has citrus, elderflower, some spice. Bit hazy, golden yellow coloured beer with a firm, white head. The taste is mild bitter with refreshing citrus and flowery tones. Good carbonation. Medium body. Decent beer.
2.3Bottle from Albert Heijn in Mestreech. I expected a better beer after the Karel. Color is hazy and amber with a hardly any head. Spicy nose. Aroma is yeast, spices, funky hops. Palate is dry and inconsistent. This is not a session, but just a brew from what left over in the kitchen. Crap.
3.233 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Albert Heijn Culemborg.
Hazy dark amber with a very thin white head. Spicy yeasty aroma with some white pepper. Dry finish and a fairly bitter taste.
Origineel glas
3.8Fles 33cl thuis. 6,1%. Bloemig, kruidig, zacht, geel fruit, scherp en bitter in de nadronk. Droogheid weinig aanwezig. Prima. (29-4-2018).
3.5Medium white head, golden copper two shine coloured body, fruity peach ripe pine apple malts spice smell, medium co2 medium bitter some gin malts pine tree like taste
3.3(13/01/19: 8-3-7-4-14 = 3.6)
Combined rate of a shared draft at Kaapse brewpub, and bottle at home, half year later. Dark golden with off-white head; falling down easily. Aroma is somewhat malty, but also hoppy and herbal; typical saison yeast. Taste moderate bitter, moderate sweet, yellow/tropical fruits, with more bitter aftertaste. Moderate carbonation. It's an OK saison.
(Re-rate 06/11/21: 7-3-6-4-13 = 3.3)
After a tap and a bottle now a can, at home. Again falling down too easily. Again fine aroma of soft malts, clear spicy yeast and hops. Taste moderate bitter with a soury/citric element; not sweet, no tropical fruits. Firm carbo. Still OK, but not completely in balance, bit too citric.
3.4Golden beer, small head. Aroma is yeast, malt. Taste is the same, quite dry, ok
Lichte body, iets waterig, makkelijk drinkbaar, voldoende koolzuur. Afdronk is droog, kruidig en prima bitter.
2.8Intriguing saison brew with a green label, which emphasizes the botanical taste, almost like a murky bog of plant matter with beery after-taste. Very intriguing but I don’t think this is for me. Bottle in a bar in Rotterdam that I unfortunately forgot the name of. I believe this was a fairly local brew (edit: it is brewed in Rotterdam). .
3.1330 ml bottle, received from Vinmonopolet (Nettbutikken) appr. 1 year after BB date (23/07/16). ABV is 6.1%, 53 IBU. Slightly hazy golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma of fruity, floral and spicy hops (Sladek), also notes of Szechuan pepper. Distinctly peppery and slightly dry flavour, notes of spicy saison yeast and herbal / spicy hops. Tastes a bit "off" in the finish. Probably better when fresher.
2.5Taster on tap @ Kaapse Brouwers Rotterdam. Robe pale.
Lekker bier!
3.5Exp. date 05/2016. Opened in 06/2017. Pours hazy dark orange with a stable, cloudy head. Apealling looks. Aroma is malty. a bit grassy and herbal. Some hops as well. Murky and soapy tones. Okayish. Flavor is quite mild in general. Mildly sweet, mildly spiced. Some herbal tones, refreshing kick in the end. There is a nice lingering bitterness after the sip. Clear notes of rye as well. Nice and refreshing Saison. Medium bodied, thick texture, lively carbonated.
2.5Drank with Rik 23-05-17 while watching Brooklyn Nine Nine. Smells like Oedipus’ Thai Thai triple but taste is quite watery, slight coriander and just in general not nice.
2.5The taste is good, but nothing special. The taste stays to long in your mouth.
3.02017 - 04 - 26 330ml bottle. orange golden color. smalle white head. herbs in aroma. bit bitter taste.
3.1Fles (in 2013, toen gaf ik 3 sterren). Goed bier, weinig meer over te zeggen.
3.6Clear orange body with a medium white head. Aroma is yeasty, light lemon, light herb. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter. Medium body, soft carbonation, watery texture.
3.3Draft pour at the source. The beer is a clear yellow with a fluffy head of white foam. The aroma is grassy and herbal. Nearly tea-like. Taste is moderately bitter and earthy. Medium body and high carbonation.
3.5Bottle from Hoogvliet supermarket in Hardinxveld, Netherlands.
The beer is hazy golden colored and has a large white head with nice carbonation.
The aroma is light malty and very fruity, wit notes of szechuan pepper and yeast, but also grass and tropical fruits like grapefruits and peaches.
Taste is light to medium bodied with a light sweetness with tropical fruits and is nicely balanced with a light bitterness and dryness with notes of pepper, grass and yeast.
The finish is bitter and dry, but above all very refreshing.
The szechuan pepper is a little disturbing but actually this is a very good brew from Rotterdam.
3.6Bottle at 6.1%. Opaque golden colour. Moderate white head. Stays a s a thick lace. Smells of yeast with interesting notes of citrus fruit, bay leaf, pepper. Similar impressions leaves the flavour. Light to medium body. Light bitterness. This is a brew of character. Yet it would puzzle those who don’t like fresh boiled beef aspic looking like beer.
3.2Clear yellow, short lasting white foam ring. Carbonated. Decent aroma and nice bitter taste. Welcome beer. (Velp 201701)
3.8Amber with medium white head. Ginger aroma. Sweet, than sour fruity, than medium bitter taste with remarkable ginger notes.
3.7Bottle, 330 ml from Pivoteka. Shared with JFK10000. Pours clear golden, white head. Herbal aroma, fruity, yeasty, spicy. Sweetish. Bitter finish. Medium bodied.
