Kalik

Our tropical lager is the best selling beer in the Bahamas, with good reason. Since Kalik was launched in 1988, it has by recognized by the International Institute for Quality Selections with three consecutive Monde Section Gold Medals for Quality.

1.7 A good local beer to drink when in the Bahamas on the beach. Good beer for the money. The gold is 7% by volume
3.2 "The beer is clear yellow in colour with a good amount of foam. It doesn’t offer too much tastewise but has a nice malty ending. Very easy to drink in the heat here in Florida." - beersoftheworldproject.wordpress.com Date: 06/10/2017 Bought at: Sunset Corners in Miami, USA.
2.0 On tap at Virgil’s Barbeque in Atlantis in Bahamas. Pale yellow gold. Small white head. Light grainy malt nose. Thin bodied, grainy malt flavor. Good choice for drinking with Barbeque. On its own, just another pale Caribbean style lager.
1.6 Can, on the beach, some island somewhere in the Bahamas. Asked barkeep for a local beer. He said nothing was more local than Kalik. I ordered it, he handed it to me, I asked for a glass. He stared at me sort of crossly and poured it into a clear plastic cup. Immediately I could tell it was a bad decision. Poured an odd whitish yellow color. Strange yellow-white head. No retention, no lacing. Overly carbonated, almost to the point of being spicy. Aroma was grain, straw hay. Sparkling mineral water. Taste was grainy, barely sweet. Probably rice mostly. Again super carbonated. Lightly bitter. Mouthfeel was papery, like eating a paper bag. Also tasted like it. Hard to drink. Overall, I was highly disappointed. I regret ordering it. I will never buy it again!
1.9 Bottle. Right, so, standard international pale lager without a ton of character. Straw colored with minimal head. Slightly cloying sweetness and soft carbonation. Drink it cold. On the other hand, if you’re drinking one you’re very likely in the Bahamas, so things aren’t too bad...
1.6 Thank you to Derek for this thoughtful gift, though I do regret asking for it. Pours a watery pale yellow with a medium white head. The aroma is slightly skunky. Its heavily grainy, has slight grassy hops, some corn and hay. Bitter taste with a little bit of sweetness. Still very grainy but now there is some metallic notes. There is lemon and grass is in here as well, although it can’t mask all negativity in this one. Light in body, a thin, rough texture, and average carbonation. This couldn’t even satisfy my already very low expectations.
2.2 Heller, trocken getreidiger Antrunk. Milde Süße, laff herb bleibend. Nur wenig würzig, langweilig. Trocken herber, erstaunlich langer Nachhall. 7/7/8/7/8/7
2.2 Pale, clear, golden pour with medium white foam. Bitter, hay malts in those with a strong manky note that is apparent from the opening. Light, cracker malt taste with some hoppy notes. Watery, light body with slightly sour finish. Evocative of a beachside bar, under blue, sunny skies.
2.2 The best of the worst! Bottle at Pepe's in key west. Lime, lager and smooth. It's good for what it is
1.3 Shared 12 oz. bottle. Pours an unnatural looking straw-yellow with a white head. Aroma of grains and skunk. Taste is skunk, grains, and more skunk. Ugh.
1.4 Aroma: typical pale lager cereal and rice; Appearance: pale straw, cloudy with thin white head that dissipates quickly; Taste: follows nose with additional unpleasant notes reminiscent of bug spray; Palate: light bodied with long, ugly finish; Overall: got the Bahamas tick. That’s all I can say.
1.9 Bottle brought back to uk from a visit to Nassau, Bahamas. Pale golden colour with a small white head. Aroma of light hop, corn and grass. Fairly sweet, light bitterness. Light body. Not one of the better Caribbean pale lagers.
2.1 Poured light golden with an off white head. Aroma of sweet grains. Light body, flavour of the aroma.
2.5 Bottle received in trade. Brilliantly clear light golden color with a decent but short lived bubbly white head. Skunk in spades as soon as I pop the cap it envelopes the room. It slowly fades but it is constant in the aroma and flavor. Light crackery bready malt with some residual sweetness, carbonic bite, and faint hop presence. I guess I could say I’ve had worse and maybe these aren’t always light struck. If I find myself in the Bahamas I will try again.
2.5 Bottle. Tastes like bready malt, dough, sweet corn, and faint citrus. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like sweet corn, grassy, and doughy malt.
3.3 In the Bahamas in Nassau. Long day at the Atlantis swimming with the family. Bought one going back into the boat. Standard pale lager that’s decent for the situation.
1.4 Bottle from First Choice Liquor 300616. I could imagine if you were sitting on a golden sandy beach under the blazing Carribean sun in the Bahamas this beer would probably taste like the best beer in the world. Unfortunately I am not in the Bahamas and this beer tastes any but good.
1.6 Bottle, as Kalik Crisp. Very pale gold with a sudsy white head. Aroma is grainy with some cardboard, slight but definite hop notes of lemon and light spices. And the slight hop notes are there in the taste too, but that’s about it. There’s mild lollyish sweetness that’s a bit papery. Some bitterness at the end. The bottle claims there’s malt in this but you wonder. Poor for a pale lager.
1.9 Poured a crystal clear pale golden colour with a two-finger bright white foamy head that diminished slowly and laced OK. Carbonation high with medium to coarse bubbles. Aroma strongly of grain/corn and hints of light malt; no obvious hops. Taste is slightly sweet, bland and a bit salty; no real hops bitterness. Light body. Crisp, smooth, refreshing and sweet with a hint of tartness on the finish.
1.5 12oz bottle brought back from the Bahamas thanks to Timmy! Pours a clear golden yellow with a finger of foamy bright white head. I can smell the skunkiness as soon as I opened the bottle. All I get from the aroma is straight skunk. Probably the skunkiest beer I’ve ever had. Taste of sweet grain, bad lemons, and loads of skunk. Thanks for the rate Tim, but this is a total drain pour!
2.4 Taste is a little salty, some bitter bite, sudsy, yeast nose, lite body with smaller head
1.8 Even drinking this during a two week stint in the Bahamas doesn’t really make it drinkable.
2.0 Given to me by Maxbier. Didn’t bother pouring into glass, drank from the clear bottle. Color is yellow with some white foam. Light malt and skunky aroma. Flavor is pretty much the same. It’s an island beer. I could drink a lot of these if I was on an island but standing in 2 feet of snow is a different story.
1.5 Rated from old notes. A light bodied lager, one dimensional, lacking any nuance, or, for that matter, real taste. Decent with food. Since you’re in the Bahamas (who would import this) try it with some spicy jerked conch. The bottled version is better than the canned.
2.5 Bottle courtesy of Raffaella C. and Marco A. L’intensità olfattiva è flebile e la persistenza olfattiva è corta. Il dolce è medio a bilanciare l’amaro medio e l’aspro leggero. L’intensità gustativa è leggera e la persistenza gustativa è sufficiente. Il finale è astringente e semplice. Il retrogusto è veloce. L’aroma ricorda frumento, fieno e cereali.
2.1 Country #112. Bottle in Coldwater, FL. Body is like apple juice, carbonated. Nose is malty, dry like paper and plenty carbonated. Not real good But a new country. Sweetish, dryi finish.
2.6 Pours clear golden color, with a 2-finger white head. Grainy, grassy aroma. Maybe a little yeast. Body is light and mild, but I didn’t find it watery. Lightly dry finish. Flavor of corn mixed with a grassy note.
2.4 Fonefan 110415. Golden-yellow colour with a white head. Flavour is fruit, malt, grass, hop, grain. Medium body. Boring/Ordinary beer.
2.5 Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass at the World of Beer in Pooler, GA., The beer is has a light golden color with a small white head. The aroma was really skunky and it followed through to the taste. This may have been a shipping issue but it was not a good beer for me. I will not try this again.
1.8 Bottle - medium yellow with a small head. Has some bite to it on first taste. Lots of corn and grain and metallic on the back end. An ok beer for the Bahamas.
