Very average but drinkable Helles.
3.8500ml bottle brewed in Germany at 5.1%. Crystal-clear yellow, nice-sized good-duration head. Sweet grassy into honey aroma, slight zesty hops. Lowish+ carbonation. Sweet, honeyed Kingsmill 50/50 malt, fully in contrast with grassy lemon-tinted hops, quite multifaceted for a refreshing Helles, and the faintly dry finish is nice too. Kaltenberg (Koenig Ludwig) are a somewhat lesser-known Germany brewery, but definitely a must-sample for connoisseurs of German beer. Helles is not my style of choice, but this is very respectable beer indeed. Bottle 7 months past the Best Before; doesn't seem harmed by it.
3.3It has a really nice ending taste, I mostly don't like all hell beers but this is a good one.
3.2Bottle. Clear yellow/gold with a decent white head. Aroma and taste of grains, bread, minerals, a little bit of grass and floral hops. Low bitterness. Medium carbonation. Balanced and süffig. A solid helles.
4.1Sensational. Clear. Crisp.
3.1Bottle picked up from REWE Zolling and consumed at home Attenkirchen, Monday 9th December 2019 whilst cooking Mousakka and also a Mushroom and Chestnut Soup, listening to Steve Lamaqs Evening Session on 6Music. Pours light gold, super clear, a large white head sits atop. Nose is subtle but clean, fruity, a little bit zippy, touch dry finish and not so sweet. It's ok.
2.6Golden straw color with good foam.
Nose: Malt, grassy hops.
Taste. Malt, with a light hop bitterness.
2.9Optisch intensives Gold, in der Nase Getreide, leicht verbrannt. Im Trunk Getreide, kernig, auch hier röstig, kernig, passt schon.
2.7Mild smell of malt. Clear golden colour, wite head. Aroma of malt, some grass and paper. Medium bitter. Lively carbon.
2.20,5 l Flasche. Goldenes Bier, stabiler, weißer Schaum mit schöner Gardine. Schmeckt laff, muffig, grasig.
5.0Translated as Cold Mountain: the kingly Bavarian Beer. This malt, toffee, caramel brew was very nice. A golden orange pour with a small head. Lovely smooth mouth feel. And nice refreshing finish. Wunderba
3.8Ottima birra,chiara, gusto buono
4.0Very refreshing with a great taste and a perfect etching in the glass
1.0Imagine putting a cactus up your bumhole. That’s how enjoyable drink this pint is.
1.2Not great, would rather not drink the beer
3.1bottle bb 29/5/19 dorata chiara limpida buona schiuma piuttosto persistrnte lueve cereale un filo zolfo morbida amaro contenuto lievi note erbacee
2.8At Munich airport as König Ludwig Helles. Bright gold with a nice white head and medium carbonation. Not the most refined helles, a slightly industrial quality to the bitterness and less of a soft mouthfeel but it’s drinkable enough.
Re-rate, as Kaltenberg at the Brown Hare. Rating stands.
2.5Aroma of grains and esters. Taste is rather watery, some grainy and malty notes. Low bitterness.
2.7Birra in bottiglia. Buona hell senza grandi pretese. Ottima per pasteggiare. Bevuta fresca, molto dissetante.
5.0Discovering Konig Ludwig Hell was a revelation to me. Every burp i let out while drinking this beer brought extreme satisfaction of the like i had never known before. It only took about two moderate sized glasses (about half the bottle) for me to decide that i simply had to be drinking something seriously good. So i looked up the beer to find it is owned now by the Warsteiner group as one of their exclusive other brands. They say this on their website: 'From the originators of the Bavarian purity law from 1516 and the founding family of the Oktoberfest'. Knock on wood heh?!! The starkly average rating this beer has on this website is baffling to me. People have different tastes sure, but how anybody could not notice this is a seriously high-end beer goes beyond me. I will not say it is light exactly, but certainly it's not heavy either and i find it really soothing on those odd days i am having a slightly delicate feeling stomach. It literally tastes with every sip like it is good for you. Goes great with- or after- good food as some others have mentioned, but even on it's own too, due to that remarkable body it has. No less than 5 stars from me for Konig Ludwig Hell. The finest beer i know. Pour it into a glass though as it's best experienced that way. I use a wine-like glass and enjoy each bottle in about 3-4 moderate sized servings.
3.3Draft 0,5 l, Sefood Sylt, Munich Airport, Germany.
Złote, klarowne piwo z pusztą i gęstą ale niezbyt obfitą pianą. W smaku pełne i orzeźwiające z lekką, metaliczną goryczką na finiszu.
3.3Van tap in Berlijn als König Ludwig Hell. Lichte malttonen, zoetje. (2-2017).
3.0Bière très claire comme son nom peut l'indiquer. Tout à fait légère, correcte comme une bonne lager.
3.5Very good Helles. Pours golden with some white head and a lot of bubbles. The relatively high carbonation earns an extra point. Rich, grainy aroma, very pleasant. Taste is mild enough to make for an easy drink in the summer, yet grainy and gently hoppy/bitter flavours are balanced well to combine for a very enjoyable brew. Among the better of its kind.
2.4500 ml bottle. Clear golden, small head not long lasting. Grainy, some citrus. Medium bitterness and sweetness. Soft carbonated, light bodied. Somehow dull and bland, but drinkable overall.
