2.8Cloudy brown in colour. Not especially pleasant to drink, tastes slightly tangy and lifeless, sell by date seems ok though
3.0Flesje. Bruine grote schuimkraak. Heftig carbonated. Smaakt waterig, caramel en rozijnen. Beetje bitter in de afdronk. Doordrink-dubbel. Niet memorabel maar oke.
3.3Bottle from Belgibeer. Dark nut brown with a large head. Aroma of dark fruit malt. Flavour is dark fruit, caramel malts, toffee malt, chocolate finish.
3.1F: huge, bit tanned, long lasting.
C: dark brown, red bit hazy against the light.
A: malty, red fruits, cherries, bit chocolate, brown sugar, burned herbs.
T: malty, sour cherries, red fruits, chocolate, bit caramel, bit yeasty, medium body and carbonation, Dubbel as many other here in Belgium, nothing special, 33cl bottle from Prik & Tik Leuven.
3.3Tasted at cellar temperature. Poors caramel reddish brown with moccha head. Aroma rather faint butterscotch, caramel. Taste more pronounced and distinctly caramel, some butterscotch, hints of dark fruits, rather one-dimentional but not bad. After a while stronger tasting, bitter, roasted malts become noticable, not particularly tasty though.
3.4The color of strong tea with a long milky cappuccino foam . In the aroma fruits and caramel. The taste is caramelized with plum and some other ripe fruits. The aftertaste is watery and a bit bitter with warming alcohol.
3.6Bottle from Beergium. Brown color, beige head. Bitter taste with nuts, chocolate, malts, earthy notes, a bit of ripe fruits, yeast and toffee. Bitter finish with nuts, chocolate, toffee, earthy notes, yeast and ripe fruits. Very nice dubbel.
3.0Good head retention.
Pale brown - quite light for a Dubbel.
Sweet syrup tastes with malt & slightly roasted
3.5A step up compared to the blond one, deeper and way more interesting. Rather light for a dubbel, far from my favorite ones, but not a bad thing. Alcohol is well hidden, some caramel aroma and spices. Very pleasant, I still prefer the Prior and Abt ones but not to be overlooked. APPROVED BY TAVERNY’S BLACK METAL CREW!
2.2Deep red body with a two finger tanned head. Doesn’t smell much, mainly caramel, earth notes. The body is light which is a surprise.Tastes caramel, spice and earth. Not a nice one
3.6Opaque copper brown hue with mid sized beige head consisting of good retention. Blast. Unfortunately smells rather akin to stale cardboard. Vast breadth of body not unlike dough. Delectable taste which is bizarre given the terribly unimpressive aroma. Caramel, slight roast, dried fruit, fall spices and vanilla with a sweet/malty finish that coalesces with a wee bit of hop. Pleasant.
3.6Bottle from de Bierschuur in Poppel, Belgium. The beer is dark brown colored and has a large and stable cream colored head, with livingly CO2.
The aroma is malty and fruity, with notes of roasted malts, yeast, dark fruits, caramel and spices.
The taste is sweet and malty, with tones of caramel, dark fruits, raisins and the spices gives it a pleasant bitterness near the end.
The finish is a little alcohol, light bitter and dry.
Very nice dubbel.
3.0Flaska @ Pressklubben. Mörk standardbelgare. God, balanserad, på gränsen till intetsägande.
2.9Murky brownish amber, big and fluffy light beige head. Caramely aroma. Flavour has malt, caramel, notes of dried fruit, light spice and something sour.
3.50.33l bottle. Very dark ruby body with a light brown foam. Aroma of reisins, toast, sour cherries and chocolate. Taste of chocolate, sour cherry, orange zest, toast, cloves and grassy hops. OK beer.
4.0330ml bottle from Verheyde, Watou. Pours deep dark brown with large off-white head. Aroma is sweet caramel malt, brown sugar. Taste is smooth, sweet, yeasty. Definitely a vibrant sweetness but tied in very well with good balance. Really liked this.
3.3Aroma has light caramel and sweet banana. Flavour has sweet caramel, a hint of roasted malt bitterness and a touch of bready yeast.
3.6cloudy brown colour, huge, medium dense yellowish-beige head; aroma of dried plum and figs, caramel some floral and herbal notes and roastedness; taste of roastedness, dried fruits, some caramel and herbal notes; if the taste was as good as the aroma, it would be a great dubbel
3.3Roodbruine kleur met een goede kraag. Ruikt zoetig, suiker, mout, kruiden. Smaakt zoetig, kruiden, vanille. Beetje suiker.
3.8Murky bubbly brown. Head is ample, but noisy and diminishing. Aroma is bread, candy, a bit of green apple, pear. brown sugar. Taste is refreshingly crisp and bright for a dubbel. There is a solid bready malt base (doppelbock like) with a crisp belgian layer of funk and a touch of sour on top. Nice.
Gott.
3.3330 ml. bottle sampled @ home. Whilst watching the 11th season premiere of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”, man I missed this brilliant show. Purchased @ ALBO. Dark brown, small mocha bubbles head. Nose is strange herbs, burned dough, medicinal herbs, rather odd. Taste is weird fizzy burned herbs, overripe fruits, umami, burned sugar, burned cookies, burned licorice, fizzy overripe banana,… Fizzy body. Rather strange. Fizzy & strange flavours, not entirely appealing to me. Too strange for me, not sure what is going on here. Different but not really in a good way for me.
3.633cl bottle. Pours slightly hazy red brown colour with a mid-sized beige head. Aroma of nuts, red fruits, brown sugar. Taste of riped dark fruits, red berries, caramel, some coffee, good!
3.633 cl bottle, shared. Hazy, dark brown colour with a big, lightly tanned head. Sweet aroma with caramel malts, yeasts, toasted notes, fruits, nuts and faint liquorice. Taste is sweet. Medium body with a creamy texture and an average carbonation. Finishes slightly dry with fruits, yeasts and toasted notes. Lovely Dubbel.

3.6BOTTLE 33 CL. Hazy dark ruby, beige head. Aroma is malts and dried fruit, a hint of alcohol. Some nice nutty and sweet fortified wine notes as it warms up. Taste: Malty and dried fruity, followed by a solid resiny bitterness. Very good.
3.2Bottle at home. Aroma of malt, caramel, raisins, dark fruits, some roasted notes, some chocolate. Flavour is sweet with a moderate bitter finish. Body is medium. Surprisingly rich and tasty Dubbel.
3.46/12/2007 12:18:46 PM Bottle from Cracked Kettle. Dark orange colour. Big head. Roasty caramel taste. Sugary with belated punch. Nicely done.
3.007-09-2015 - After a few days of bland, tasteless beer, I finally found something new with at least a little bit of taste.
3.4Mørk brun noe tåkete med fingerhøyt beige skum. Lukter brunt sukker, epler og toast. Fyldig. Smaker søtt, lett bitter brent karamell og alkohol. Søt brent i avsluttningen.

Uiterlijk: roodbruin met volle schuimkraag
Aroma en smaak: donker fruit, gebrande kandijsuiker, caramel, zoetig
Conclusie: smaken zoals ik ze lekker vind bij een dubbel, goede body
