3.2 Bottle from Edeka, Rothenburg. (18/5/19, BB: 26/4/19.) Pours hazy brown-reddish with a quickly thinning, frothy, tan head. Aroma of toast, peanut, dried fig, tobacco, caramel, pear, clove, 'Pomme d'Amour', cake. Taste is light to medium malty sweet, restrained caramel & cake supporting dark fruits (fig, raisin) & some banana, a bit smoky-toasty with sourish wheat, metallic accent, bitter tones of clove & pepper, leading to a dry, herbal hoppy finish, lingering maltiness of dark fruits & cake, tad metallic again. Light to medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Hugely drinkable Dunkelweizen but feels too thin in the end.

3.2 Medium, one-finger foam, brown-black color. So much of coffee aroma and roasted malts. The taste of chocolate, roasted caramel a bit sweet. Palate is short, medium carbonation and oily texture. Drinkable and fine like other Kapuziners.
4.1 Medium bodied and creamy texture. Rich, roasted malt, notes of salted caramel and liquorice. Excellent.
3.2 Dark brown colour with light beige head. Aroma of bananas, roastiness and also rather strong metallic notes. Not the best aroma overally. Taste is dry with nice balance between maltiness and bitterness. However, aftertaste lasts for too short.
3.0 Bottle. Pours dark brown iwth beige brownis head. Aroma is wheatym, fruity, banana, sour, caramel. Flavor is sweet and bitter, roast, sour, caramel, wheat, malt. Body is thin. Overall: drinkable, but way too thin.
4.1 Lovely cappucino-like foam that is persistent. Delicious delicate aroma of roasted malt and caramel. The taste is rich and sweet with banana, chocolate, dark caramel and dark syrup. The roasted malt has a slightly mixed taste of wood, leather and brown sugar. It could immediately be read as if this is a very sweet beer, but it's only in the beginning. A comfortable and slightly hoppy bitterness gives it a total dry aftertaste that maintains all its good flavors.
3.3 Fles 50cl thuis als Kapuziner Weißbier Dunkel. Roasted malts, zoeten, wat vlak. (5-2017).
3.8 Yes! At last a weissbier dunkel to come up to my favourite so far, the Andechs Weizbier Export Dunkel. What they both share is a malt-forward nature, with the spicy yeasty flavour kept in its place. It's a matter of taste I suppose, but I don't like all these weissbiers that taste like drinking Brut for Men. A dunkel is a malt forward beer, and my favourite style, so it seems a shame that the weissbier dunkels often let the malt take second place. Here, quite the opposite. The dark brown, wheat-heady brew gives off a smell of power malts, with yeast esters having to jostle for parity. In the mouth there is a strong bity malt at first, with the dark sweetness typical of a straight Bavarian dunkel, and then the yeasty spice notes and wheat make their bow, but only like courtiers to the malt. The perfect blend of malt and spice is really something else--so many weissdunkels miss that jackpot, in my opinion. You've got chocolate and banana now, with a slight hops tug at the end of the swallow. For my taste, this is how a dunkelweiss should be. My second drink from this brewery--impressed by both.
3.2 0.5 l bottle from 'EDEKA Preller' (Breckerfeld) as 'Kapuziner Hefe-Weissbier Dunkel', best before August 2018. Cloudy, dark brown with a medium large, foamy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty, quite yeasty-spicy aroma of caramel, milk chocolate, nuts, overripe banana and clove. Moderately sweet, malty, quite yeasty-spicy and slightly roasty taste of caramel, nuts, milk chocolate, overripe banana and clove, followed by a short, moderately bitter, minimally tart, rather yeasty-spicy and quite dry finish. Almost medium-bodied, smooth and moderately effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Decent enough, a bit too thin maybe.
3.6 Buegelverschlußflasche: Hazy, deep amber coloured, firm and creamy off-white head, that slowly collapses, moderate sweetish toasty nose with chocolatey/coffeeish spots and a certain sourish wheaty background; moderate sweet-sourish flavour, medium bodied, creamy MF; soft and lingering first sweet, later sourish caramelly and wheaty finish. An unexpected top-quality brew from a mass-market brewer...
3.3 50 cl. flip-top bottle @ home, bought @ Trinkgut, Emmerich as Kapuziner Hefe-Weissbier Dunkel. Hazy brown with an off-white head. Roasted malts with some banana. Sweet taste. Nice dunkelweizen.
3.5 Bottled. Tasted several times during the early beery ages. Pours hazy copper with frothy off white head. Cereal, malty, roasty, licorice nose. Medium body, average carbonation, slick texture. Taste is malt forward, with nice roasty and licorice touch.
3.3 Bottle - as Kapuziner Hefe Dunkel Naturtrüb (the new design) - still a very dark brown color (schwarz/black as ive seen few hefeweizen before). thick creamy head. taste is banana, fruity, malty body. caramell. medium sweet, fine carbonation. good one.
3.8 From old tasting notes. Interesting reddish brown color. Zillions of bubbles lead to an immense rocky tan head. Spicy wheat malt bouquet with hints of anise and cloves. Sweet malty spice-like flavor. There is a light touch of hop flavor in the finish, but the maltiness shines through in this one. Nice complex spicy finish and aftertaste. The rocky head stays right through to the finish.
3.6 5.1%ABV. Dunkel. Poured out brown. 28ºSRM. Nose has sweet toasted malt and yeast. Hint of nutmeg and cloves. Mouthfeel is watery and beery. Palate has white bread, raw dough and wheat flour with a pleasant slightly nutty flavor, like raw chestnuts. Middle of the palate has light sour rounded character. Bitter hops, noble. Finish is beery and clean. Hint of spices in the aftertaste with cloves and nutmeg.
2.9 500ml bottle. Pours a clear dark amber hue with a creamy two-finger beige head - a nice looking beer. Unfortunately, the appearance was the highlight. Malty aroma. Taste is malt, roast, faint banana notes, hints of clove, dark, bread, nuts. Didn’t quite pull off the banana/schwarz combo.
3.4 Bottle. Pours a deep brown color with a foamy head. Aroma of caramel, wheat and chocolate. Taste of caramel sweetness, bit of grain and chocolate. Mild bitterness and a fairly clean finish. Moderate body, smooth, quite creamy with a nice touch of malt. Nice beer.
3.1 Sampled from a 16 oz flip top brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a large soapy-creamy tan head that lingered and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was malty and bready with hints of wood and pretzel. The flavor was toasty with cocoa, wood, bread crust, dark fruit and mild bitterness. Medium length finish. Medium body. Decent
3.3 500ml bottle at El Patio, Munich. Aroma is light coffee, a bit dark, roasted fruits. Appearance is dark brown, almost black. Taste is light bitter, sweet. Fine.
4.0 Aroma: bread, cereal, caramel, sweet coffee Appearance: dark brown, cloudy, minimal head, Taste: light sweetness, lightly bitter, like a bread flavor, roasty Palate: medium body, creamy, soft carbonation,
3.3 About all you could ask for, appearance-wise. Nice swing top bottle, good label, dark brew, impressive stiff/dense khaki head. Sort of milky, roast, dark sugar /molasses aroma. Twangy, tastes like a cane syrup beer that my buddy makes who has a sugar cane farm. Chalky mouthfeel, buffered, molasses sweetness. Aftertaste clings. Beer Stop, Tallahassee.
3.6 Bottle at green sheep. Black colour with a small white head. Nose is weizeny with low roasted malts. Taste is dominated by roasted malts with some esters. Nice but not outstanding.
3.2 My bottle was green. It was a decent brew though not one I would choose to revisit. Though good I found it a bit disappointing as a German ale.
3.4 Où, Quand, Comment : Bouteille, dégustée le 7/28/2013. Visuel : Couleur : brune.
3.8 1 pt, 9 oz bottle. Pours a very dark and opaque black with a tan, foamy head that dissipates slowly. Very strong caramel, chocolate, and banana aromas. It is medium sweet with mild flavors of caramel. It is medium in body with a slightly slick texture. Which is surprising given its dark color and sweet flavor, as I would have expected it to be a bit thicker and creamier. Carbonation is average and the finish is long. Overall, a very nice beer that I’m sure I will be drinking again in the near future.
3.3 Aroma - honey-malted, caramel-like, and way deep is just a bit of banana yeast notes. Appearance - very dark brown body, with a clean liquid, head sets up at about 3" and light beige in color. It fades into about a 1/2" slice. Taste - has a little marshmallow-like sweet malt, some caramelized sugars, and almost honey-like quality, and a bit of alcohol-phenol banana action. Palate - medium body, slick feel, average carbonation, long finish
3.6 A rarely good Dunkelweizen which pours a nice brown glass of ale. It has some beautiful malts in it and is an overall treat.
