Maybe with a little ExtraVerREDFRUITet HoppyPineyTouch 😉✨. 0,33l Buddel out of the wonderful Netherlands 🎆👽😀. Mitra!?
3.2 Together with Yves at my home dark brown colored body with a small off white head and with a malt hop fruity aroma a malt hop herby dry bitter taste with an alcholic bitter finish
3.5 Bottle. Clear deep brown liquid with small to medium tan head. Aroma of coffee, licorice, bitter chocolate, citrus and light mango. Taste is dry and medium bitter with notes of citrus, mango, coffee and light ash. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Quite roasted and very hoppy. Basically a black ipa and not a porter.
4.0 BOTTLE 33 CL. Hazy deep ruby-brown, sticky beige head. Savory aroma of sticky dark treacle, candied grapefruit and a touch of dusty roast. More fudge and treacle in the taste, really hoppy, with a hint of dark chocolate and robust spicy nutty bitterness. Rich, yet easy-drinking body. A black IPA-ish kind of porter. Excellent.
3.6 Bottle from De Hopduvel, Ghent. Clear dark brown with a lasting beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, roasted malt, chocolate and moderate hoppy - pine. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish. 070517
3.3 Shared with wim at his home. Brown colored beer with small white head and no carbonation. Hopped malty spiced aroma. Full sparkling palate. Finish is hopped bitter malty sweet.
3.5 Dark brown body with a large brown head. Aroma is malty, roasted, pine, herbal. Taste is light sweet and medium to heavy bitter. Soft carbonation, medium body, bitter finish.
3.7 Bottled. The aroma has roast, chocolate tones and citrus. Black coloured beer with a medium sized off-white/beige head. The taste is light-moderate bitter and has roast, chocolate, citrus. Light-medium bodied beer. Nice.
3.7 How: tap Appearance: dark brown, small tanned head. Aroma: coffee, citrus, apples, toast. Palate: medium body, average to low carbonation.
3.6 33cl bottle from Õllepood Nr.1 Gambrinus, Tartu. Pours clear dark, dark mahogany with a modest, tanned head. Roasty and quite hoppy aroma with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, citrus, both dark and some tropical fruits with hints of licorice and pine. Moderate sweet with quite a pleasant mixture of dark and hoppy flavours and a rather dry and pleasantly bitter finish. Could easily have more of this.
4.3 Bottle. Dark brown with a nice beige head. Rich roasty aroma with light fruity notes and lotsbof toffee ans toast. Medium to strong bittersweet taste followed by light roasty sourness; crispy bitter finish. Full body, medium carbonation, light stickiness. More of a porter than a black IPA, anyway excellent.
4.0 A strong malty aroma, a soft touch of licorice and liqueur. The small pale beige creamy head has a normal duration. The body is black. A bitter and malty taste, a little bit of coffee. The body is light to medium strong, creamy with a normal carbonation.
3.3 Dark brown color with a foamy, tight bubbled light tan head and heavy lace. Big sweet scents with sorghum, molasses and light creosote. Some dark chocolate, grains and silage. Big grainy flavors in the start. Roasted malt, coffee grounds and tar in the flavors. Dries out a bit in the finish and linger with a roasted and toasted grains milling about. Seems a bit raw/under-attenuated.
3.6 33cl bottle. Dark brown with a nice off-white head. Roasted malts, coffee and grapefruit. Good.
3.7 Black coloured beer with some light shining through. Nice bubble frothy off white head. Aroma: grain, rice crackers, some coffee and some roasted malt. Not smelling the hops. Taste: roasted malts, cold coffee, grains, hint of fruitiness and a nice bitterness. Wouldn’t call this a Black IPA, makes me think of a nice Porter like the name suggests.
3.3 Bottle at home. Clear dark reddish brown, minimal cappuccino head. Creamy light butterscotch chocolate roasted malts licorice biscuit hay. Dry roasty taste with herbaceous hops in the finish, walnuts.
3.6 Bottle from De Hopduvel. Dark brown, lots of creamy foam. Nose of coffee, roasted malts, pine, grapefruit. Taste of coffee and ashes, fruitiness (lemon peel). Bitter finish. Good.
3.9 Bottle at home. Pours light dark, medium foam. Coffee, roasted malts, bitter and with hints of IPA. Low carbonation. It is mostly a hybrrid, but it works well. Very pleasent.
Echt heel lekker!
3.9 Pitch black with small, dense espresso head that disappears quickly. Hoppy and malty aroma. Mildly bitter and fruity in taste, with notes of mango, dark chocolate and grassy yeast. Although the hop flavors are very present, they are very well counterbalanced by the roasted malts. Medium body, average carbonation, oily texture. Smooth, very drinkable.
4.3 0.33 l bottle from Pivoteka, Zagreb. Shared with Višnja 666 and Goran. Thanks Višnja! Dark brown to black, small tan head. Hoppy & roasty profile, some resin, some fruit, some wood. Dry, very aromatic, perfect balance. Full taste, refreshing medium to full body, beautiful finish. This is basically perfect!
3.4 Niet zo veel aroma. Gebrande koffiebonen op de voorgrond. Zeer hoppig voor een Porter. Fijne bittere afdronk. Is dit wel een Porter?
3.5 Bottle from Best Off Licence, Hanwell. Mahogany in colour, with a small, beige, head. Hoppy aroma with some sweetish red berries. Flavour had toasty malts, brown sugar and more fruits, before a dryish finish. Enjoyable.
3.8 330 ml bottle at the Hoppy Pub, Thessaloniki. Dark brown to black color with beige head. Roasted malty and light hoppy aroma, some perfume and pine notes, licorice, coffee, light chocolate. Sweet and bitter taste. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.
3.7 Thanks for sharing, Gvozden! Poured a clear brown body with a small off white head. Caramel/coffee malty note, some chocolate, herbal hoppy notes. Not bad! Dry roasty taste, coffee (nice and light), herbal, ends vaguely bitter and light. Not bad, nice even.
3.4 How: Draught. Where: All in Beer Fest 2016. Appearance: Hazy amber colour with a tan head. Aroma: Roasted malt, chocolate, some coffee, a bit floral. Body: Medium body and carbonation. Flavour: Roasted malt, hops, chocolate.
3.2 Rami Rami is drinking an East India Porter by Brouwerij Kees at JabeerwockyDeskna.
