Kingpin Berserker

Kingpin Berserker

Berserker is a Black IPA that marries the silky chocolate notes of dark malts with fresh citrusy resiny bitterness of American hops. Subtle sweetness of orange peel and floral aromas of jasmine and heather round out its flavor profile.

3.7 0.5 bottle C: dark brown, cola N: malt, honey, grain P: light carbonation, slightly bitter, quite dry, burnt toast, orange rind, bit sour in the finish.
3.5 Czarne, nieprzejrzyste ze skąpą beżową pianą. W aromacie trochę majaczy skórka pomarańczy i jakiś taki galaretkowy słodki zapach.
4.0 50cl flesje via Het Bierhuis, Breda Alcoholpercentage van 7% Uitgeschonken in blanco bokaal Uiterlijk: zwart met redelijke cremelaag Aroma en smaak: neus is gebrande mouten, smaak is koffie, chocolade, gebrande mouten, licht fruitig voor een BIPA, sinaasappelschil, straffe bitter Conclusie: eerder gehad was toen fruitiger
3.8 50cl bottle best by August 2018 - nose is a relief from all these mediocre French beers in other words: roast and pine. Sip adds coffee, citrus and a general robust aroma. Thank you Poland! Lingering bitterness without much roast. Definitely getting orange out of this.

Malty and hopy taste, chocolate, citrus fruit, light coffee notes, resin, roasted notes, medium bitter. Medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation and malty and malty and hopy bitter finish. Nice hops centered Black IPA. Very good.

3.0 Backlog. Pite przed założeniem konta na Ratebeer. Ocena do uzupełnienia profilu.
3.9 Bottle, 10cl sample @ Øluniverset, Vejle. Pours deep brown with a small, staying, creamy off-white head. Aroma has light roasted malts, citrussy hops. Medium carbonation, fine dry and quite creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has roasted malts, hazelnut, walnuts, lots of hops, solid, lingering bitterness. Lovely.
2.9 W aromacie lekki chmiel wyczuwalny. Lekko kremowe. Nuty czekoladowe. Nie zachwyciło mnie, a raczej trochę zawiodło.
3.7 Pours black with tan head. Roasted, pine and fruity aroma. Flavour is roasted, pine, medium bitter.
3.0 Old review. Bottle. Pours jet black, tan head. Aroma of slight milk chocolate, roasted malt, slight citrus. Taste is semi-dry, with an average astringent citrusy bitterness. Flavors of roasted malt, roast, slight dark chocolate, some hints of citrus. Medium body, slick texture, average carbonation.
3.2 Pleasant aroma of milk chocolate with some floral signs and roasty background. Deep dark brown in the glass with a medium tan head. Taste is semi dry with floral signs, chocolate notes and roasted touch at the finish. Very balanced, maybe little bit astringent, but solid.
3.8 Pours dark brown from the bottle. The frothy tan head lingers amidst lacing. Aroma is orange peel, dark chocolate, floral. Taste has a sharp berry twang, trends sour, finishes with a light bitterness. As usual with a black IPA there’s a lot of flavors pulling in different directions here, for the most part the hops has the upper hand. Body is medium, smooth with a nicely balanced carbonation. Overall a good bIPA.
3.2 Big beige head. Opaque black body. Resiny mineraly toasted bread aroma with toffee and light funk notes. Dry-sweet orangey roasty taste with earthy notes. Mid-bodied. Sharpish mouthfeel. Dryish resiny burnt roasty aftertaste with milky toast notes. Nice, balanced, harmonic, drinkable. (0.5l bottle, from wine monopoly, Strømmen.)
3.4 Bottle. Black colored with a medium sized beige head. Fruity and light roasted aroma of hops, pine needles and chocolate. Fruity and light roasted flavor of hops and grass.
3.9 Appearance: dark colour, big beautiful head Aroma: Medium intensive aroma of coffee, chocolate, malt Taste: Rich chocolate and coffe bouquet, creamy finish Palate: medium carbonation, oil, full body, medium bitterness Genera very good beer
Corpo rotondo, birra scorrevole e carbonazione medio bassa. Dolcezza e finale appena secco.
3.4 Recenzja z notatek celem uzupełnienia profilu na ratebeer. Solidna black IPA.
2.6 5 3 5 3 10 Bottle shared at THT June ’17. Dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of cheesy old socks, vegetables, caramel and malt. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. [16/06/2017]
3.6 Bottled. A black beer with a dark brown head. The aroma has notes of chocolate, roasted malt, citrus fruits, and hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of hops, citrus fruits, roasted malt, bread, and chocolate, leading to a bitter finish.
3.9 Aromat: Ciemne słody, paloność Wygląd: Czarne nieprzejrzyste, piana niezbyt wysoka, szybko zanika Smak: Dodatki nie są tu przesadzone i grają odpowiednią rolę, skórka pomarańczy jest delikatna i wspomaga amerykańskie chmiele, wrzos jest obecny, nieprzytłaczający i nadaje piwu wytrawny finisz. Jaśminu nie stwierdziłem. Odczucie w ustach: goryczka obecna, sosnowo-cytrusowa, średnia w stronę wysokiej, wpasowana, bardzo przyjemna, finisz wytrawny, trochę ściągający. Ciało średnie Ogólnie: Świetne black IPA i świetnie piwo z dodatkami. Wszystko wyważone i gra.
3.9 Piwo wypite jakiś czas temu. Ocena wystawiona na podstawie wspomnień z degustacji, w ramach uzupełnienia profilu.
3.2 Bottle shared at THT. Very dark brown with creamy beige head. Some roast, old coffee dregs, light herbs and grass, mineral water, dry minerals, soft green veggies. Light sweet and medium bitter. Just medium bodied.
3.6 Sampled from bottle at THT June at kwartje. Dark brown, nearing black with cream tan head. Dark roasted sweet malts, roasted and grilled onions. Moderate sweet and bitter. Medium body, dry and bitter. I love my onions. And sweaty socks.
3.6 Sampled at the June THT. Dark pour with a thin tan head. Notes of roasted malts, citrus and grapefruit, light cabbage, dark chocolate.
4.0 Bottle @ home. Black colour with a small light brown head. Smells chocolate, coffee, roasty. Tastes coffee, roasty, hops, sweet and then coffee and roasty again. Medium body, nice carbo.
3.6 This is their Berserker; a black IPA coming in at 7% ABV. It’s brewed with orange peel and Jasmine (and another ingredient that I cannot translate properly...). There’s a generous amount of hops used in this beer too: Chinook, Simcoe, Amarillo, Citra and Cascade. Let’s get to it! It pours out almost pitch black with a quickly dissipating beige head. There’s a slight brown tint to the beer. The aroma is packed with orange peel and floral notes! There’s not much of hoppiness to the aroma but it still smells great! The taste is bitter, malty and roasty all at the same time. You get a some nice citrusy and resinous flavors coming through followed by a charred malty bitterness. The problem with many black IPAs is that they tend to be more like a hoppy stout than an actual black IPA. But this is a very good one. The mouthfeel is light and crisp, as it should be. In a blind taste test I’d probably think that this was an IPA – but you do however get the char and roastyness. It just all blends together really well, especially with that jasmine and orange peel to give it more of a floral, fruity flavor. Solid solid beer.
3.2 Above expectations. Getting whiffs of coffee and dark chocolate but still dominated by a piney IPA w low-mid bod, so a true synthesis FWIW. Herby, a little lingering bitterness but tolerable to the bitterness connoisseurs I suppose
