4.5Aroma: strong nose pine and herbs.
Taste: explosive taste of pine and herbs, some resin on the background. Bitter aftertaste. Great beer for pine hops addicts
3.7Hazy peach and orange coloured body with a golden tint and glow and a nice, three centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of alcohol, light hops, crisp caramel, toffee and a dose of crisp robust malt, more biscuity and dry than anything else. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong robust malt flavour with a ton of alcohol noticeable, a rather large hop presence with pineapple, pine and earth all noticeable along with a dose of crisp melons at the finish. Aftertaste shows clean, crisp, biscuity flavours with honey, flowers, citrus and pine all around with a good deal of hops and bitterness and an even larger dose of alcohol. Overall, a nice Imperial IPA with a ton of flavours and pungency and even though it doesn’t show a great deal of hops, it does show a lot of character and a robust finish, with a lot of alcohol. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in New York (Bowery), New York on 20-January-2017 for US$11,99 sampled at home on the Eastern Shore in Pungoteague, Virginia on 02-July-2017.
3.9Bottle poured into a tulip glass. Color is clear golden with a white head that disappeared quickly. Aroma is spicy with mango, nectarine, grapefruit, peach, and maybe some floral. Initial taste is big with pine and floral hops along with grapefruit. Aftertaste is lightly bitter with a tiny bit of pine hanging on. Heavier body but the carbonation is a bit much for me. This has a very Belgian vibe to it. Good stuff!
3.7Tap at Harenohi as well as a bottle from Titans. A beautiful honey-copper color with a light beige head and a fruity, floral and slightly peppery hop bouquet. Medium bodied, a bit slick in texture but it finishes dry. The taste is bitter herbal, fruity and floral hops then quite a bit of sweetness to counteract the lingering bitterness.
My take away: Not quite as complex at Simtra but still very smooth and approachable.
3.7Bottle 22fl.oz. @ Stadin Panimobaari, Kaasutehtaankatu 1, rakennus 6, Helsinki, Finland 00540.
[ As Knee Deep Hoparillo 3x IPA ].
Clear medium to dark orange yellow color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, caramel, moderate to heavy hoppy, citrus, grass, tropical fruit. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, pale malt, tropical fruit, pine - citrus, medium dry. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20160706]

3.8Cloudy gold pour, no real head. Nose is a variety of tropical fruit. Bitter. Middle starts with mangoe and papaya, noticeable alcohol, and a solid grain bill. Finish is boozy and more of the same.
3.7Hazy amber color with a white head that lasts. Aroma of grapefruit, citrus, resin, orange, caramel, alcohol. Medium to full bodied, moderate to high bitterness, alcohol detectable, hop flavors dominate.
4.2My favorite of the 11% TIPAs of Knee Deep. This is so punchy, fun and bold there is not much not to like. Fun sipper and just a great combo of hops.
4.1Clea golden, sparse head. Aroma needs some warmth to come out better, and when it finally does, its fruity - sweet and tropics all around. Balance is mind-numbing, this beer drinks so easy it’s scary. Fresh mango, papaya and so many more other tropical fruits. It’s only later when some alcohol reveals itself on your tongue, with some warmth and bitter tickling. Dry finish with herbal notes remains longer from hops. Excellent Triple IPA.
3.7Shared 12 oz. bottle. Pours a crystal-clear golden color with a white head. Aroma of tropical fruit , grapefruit and pine. Taste is pineapple, grapefruit, tropical fruit, caramel and alcohol. Bitter finish. Intense.
3.4Medium caramel under a sharp hoppy bite. Citrus and floral with overall citrus. Medium bodied. Not shabby.
3.7Hop hop hop aroma. Clear amber color with thin white head. Nice malty hop taste. Bitter dry ending.
3.7Aroma: tons of grapefruit with a slug of dankness; Appearance: clear golden pour with thin white head that lingers; Taste: huge iipa with lots of bitterness, dankness and some booziness; not quite to green onion level but definitely strong; Palate: medium body with long, boozy finish; Overall: excellent in small quantities but could be a bit much otherwise.
3.9Quelle bombe!!! C’est la plus forte IPA que j’ai goutée en tout cas. Oui, il y a une certaine forme de démesure mais l’équilibre est là, c’est tout à fait harmonieux. C’est intense mais bon. Merci à mon ami pour le partage ;)
4.4Clear golden pour with a thick white head...great lacing and retention. Aroma has really nice herbal and spicy hop notes...a slight hint of booziness. Flavor follows suit...herbal, spicy, rindy, scalliony and firm bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium and almost oily with a dry herbal/resinous bitter finish. So good!
3.6Thin frothy head of white bubbles. Very hazy pale orange. Haziness gives it a bit of a white tint to the brew. Strong hops aroma with some oranges, cheese, white rice and light sweet malts. Good body but the alcohol presence up front smacks you in the face then burns and lingers for a while. Dry grains, more citrus, moderate sweet malts and a bit of chalkiness. Maybe some dandelion leaves too. Bit overpowered by the alcohol presence but still pretty tasty. Long hot and bitter finish. A pretty good IIPA.
3.5Clear deep gold color pours with a solid quarter inch white head. Dank nose. Clawingly sweet and bitter taste. Medium thick mouthfeel. Long sweet finish.
4.2BOTTLE. Orange to gold pour with minimal foamy head.. Fresh juicy hop aroma, pineapple, passionfruit & citrus combo.. Sticky fruit hop palate throughout, soft caramel malt in middle with big citrus resin hop explosion at back end.. Sourced Cellarbrations @ Capel
4.411 day-old bottle. Golden orange put, nice fluffy white head. Aroma is mango, guava, citrus, super dank onion/garlic. Taste follows aroma and is super dank and resinous. Near perfect.
3.4Bottled@Stadin Panimobaari, Helsinki. Yellowish orange colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity, floral, some mild nectar as well as alcohol sweetness to it. Flavour is mild alcohol, some sweet fruity and floral notes along with a nice lingering mellow bitterness to it. Long sweet malty and floral aftertaste.
3.1(Bottle, 0.65 l, at Stadin Panimobaari, 20160706) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had grass, pine and booze. Palate was medium bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, grass, pine, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, hoppy and bitter. An over sweet hoppy pale ale.
3.822 ounce bottle from Jungle Jim’s. Still fresh! Nice looking pour. Not a big aroma for the ABV, but a nice not too malty taste with good hop notes.
4.4Fresh bottle from 6/9/16. Bright gold pour, two finger head. Nose showcases Amarillo and mosaic awesomely. Lemony, floral, funky, grapefruit rind, earthiness, pine, passion fruit. Flavor is resinous and lemony, tropical, floral, delicately herbaceous. High bitterness and a refined linger. ABV is very skillfully hidden.
3.822 oz bottle (as Hop-trio, not Hoparillo 3x, but everything else about the label is the same). Amarillo, Mosaic, and Citra. Off to a good start there. Clear bright orange. Frothy head, sticky lace. Lots of hops and booze. Fruity, tropical hops. Orange, a bit of pine, and since spice as well. The hops are met by the alcohol in the flavor. You could probably mistakenly think it was only 9 or 10% based off the relative drinkablity, but still that’s a big, boozy IPA. Would definitely bang again, but I might be inclined to split it with a friend or 2.
5.0Brilliant pale ale - smooth as - sublime balance - alcohol unobtrusive - superlatives aren’t enough - fantastic drinking.
3.9Tap. Golden orange with small head. Huge hop bomb with citrus. Especially orange, which really lingers nicely. Definitely a little hot abv wise, but that’s to be expected. Really good imperial ipa.
3.5On Tap at Growler Guys Meridian. Clear golden thin but sturdy and lasting off white had and lacing. Big up front piney hop aroma. Big time hop vehicle but a full malt body to carry it. Lingering IBU burn and the 11+% will get to you. Well done.
3.8Sharp and green floral hop aromas mixed with a sweet malt come from this clear pale orangy brew. Sweet hop flavor and moderate carb come from this full bodied beer. The hop flavor turns to bitterness and lingers followed by the warming of 11.1%. Well balanced great taste.
