3.5 Clear gold, thick beige head. Aroma of honey and buttered flaky biscuit, apple butter. Taste is bready malt sweetness, light floral hop, apple, light citrus. Good beer and a nice label.
3.1 Bottle. Had no idea that this beer even existed. Pours an attractive golden amber, fluffy head. Nose is strange, though. Some grape notes come from the heavy melanoidins. Bread crust and a faint hop note as well. On tasting, more of that grape comes through. Quite malty overall and a nice bitterness as well. Really odd but okay.
2.5 Not what I would expect from a good brand of German Beer. Flat tasting with a light flavor. Not up to par with other Oktoberfest or Maerzen beers.
3.2 Bottle:   Vibrant copper hued amber, moderate carbonation, fairly large frothy off-white head, spotty lacing.   Very soft maltiness, hints of pale fruit and sweet straw on the nose.   Somewhat of a Honeycomb cereal biscuitiness up front, dirty straw, a little bit of dull/stale brown sugar on the tongue.   More flavorful than most, but I can tell this is one I couldnt drink more than the 1/2 Litre.   Fairly smooth, body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Lingering sweet biscuitiness, honeyish, a bit cereal like.   Not bad, but can be a little too sticky at times.
3.4 Draft at elliott bay pizza. Pours a hazy dark amber with some nice light moussy tan suds. Beautiful brown bread nose. Roasty and autumnal. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Toasty brown bread mid palate with a bit of ginger cookie sweetness. Nice brown bread finish. Likable and drinkable.
2.8 Very clear, deep copper color. Malty but a lighter aroma than the Ayinger. Very bready, a little toasty. Slight toffee and caramel. I dunno, I like it as far as O’Fest beers go!
3.4 pours a copper color with a nice big off white tannish fluffy head. aroma is a nice marzen, bisquit, malty aroma. flavor is the same as aroma with a some what dry aftertaste and a little stronger. a touch watered down but a nice octoberfest. has some nice lacing and overall not bad to celebrate my five year anniversary weekend on rb.
3.5 Bottled. Looks and smells like your typical Oktoberfest. Clear medium brown, large white head. Nutty, sweet toasty malt aroma. I rather liked that the flavor has a bit more hop punch than most Oktoberfest, though not enough to overpower that toasty, bready malt sweetness. Gets a touch earthy around the middle, with a floral, slightly resinous finish. Not a lot of hops, just more than I’ve typically tasted in this style. Nice stuff.
3.1 Reviewed from notes. Poured into a pilsner glass. The color is a light copper with a slight white head and not to much lacing. Nose brings some caramel and bread; also a slight nutty character. The taste is mostly some lightly-toasted bread with a hint of caramel. Good feel and carbonation. Fairly plain, but quite quaffable. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 11-12-2010
3.6 Ahh the Oktoberfest season is in full swing and time for another indulgence. Comes in a somewhat plainly decorated blue-trimmed 12 oz brown bottle. The cap ornately reads "Oktoberfet Bier". Best before 07 2010. Pours, like most Oktoberfests do, with a 3 finger white head into my mug. The foam on this one is noticeably tighter than other versions of the style. The beer itself is typical amber/orange Oktoberfest color, though a bit on the lighter side, and without hints of gold like the Warsteiner version. For the smell a good nutty, roasty, sweet malt flavor pairs up nicely with the little bit of hops. The malt also has some honey/brown sugar in it as well. The mouthfeel on this one is notacibly less carbonated and more watery than other Oktoberfests I’ve tried on the first sip, but the alcohol and the carbonation start to mingle as I get further into it and the carbonation becomes more noticeable. The taste is malty, but with a nice deal of bitter and slightly citrus hops. The hops seem more noticeable in this one that some of the others. The flavors in this one would make it my Oktoberfest breakfast beer. Not bad. Overall it has its weaknesses and strengths within the style lines, a middle of the road Oktoberfest offering.
3.5 Pours a cloudy light amber with a generous frothy head and fair lacing. A clean start moves smoothly to light butterscotch and caramel, and back to a clean lightly bittered finish. Not a lot of flavor, but what it does have is very nice, and drinkable over a long session.
3.0 Orange color. Nice lacing. Aroma of citrus, fruit, and even a hint of alcohol. Reminded me of the taste of cough syrup, but not as pungent. I felt the flavor was weak, but has a sweet undertone. I was expecting something a bit stronger in flavor from an Oktoberfest.
2.8 bottle thanks to bhensonb. poured orange with a fast fading white head. aroma was grain and caramel. flavor was grain, caramel, and an earthy spice. light and fizzy body.
3.4 Aroma of nutty and roasted carmel. This beer looks great with a white head and good lacing. Medium mouthfeel of carmel and roasted malts.. This is pretty easy drinking octoberfest. Best part is.... it was half price for the case! $14.99!!!
3.0 Pours a light orange/red color. Very sweet aroma alot of yeast and malts. Somewhat fruity as well. Flavor is sweet and malty. A bit of a roasty finish. Some spice in the finish also. Enjoyable enough.
2.8 Bottle. Pours a light amber with a small off-white head. Mild aroma of some malty grains and faint caramel. Flavor was toasted malts, light caramel, grass and some nuttiness.
2.8 Deep golden clear pour ... grassy sweet malty aroma .... taste of grassy and sweet caramel malts with some bready malt elements more of a glorified lager with a decent sweet malty finish ... easy drinking but there are way better oktoberfest brews
3.2 Bottle. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate toasted sweet malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met.
2.6 Draft. An Oktoberfest? In July? When it’s 100 degrees outside? Ok, why not. Good decision. Not spectacular, though. Doesn’t quite fit the mold...
2.6 honestly, i dont remember much about this one. i poured it, drank it....and apparently it didnt do much for me. wasnt bad. just not that memorable.
3.1 Ok. I went to the grocery outlet store where they sell stuff just about to reach its expiration date and bought a sing 12 ouncer of this, not expecting much. Surprisingly, it’s quite nice for the style, and, at 75 cents, a steal! Golden pour with medium head. Caramel aroma, with slight plum undertones. Flavor starts sweet toffee, balanced by a woody bitterness of medium length. Easy drinking and recommended.
3.1 Pours amber gold with a large foamy off-white head. Aromas of light caramel and something grassy. Med. body with mildly foamy carbonation. Flavor is malty, but there is a good dose of herby/grassy hop. It finishes lightly bitter. Drinkable for sure.
3.3 Pours clear golden with a creamy off-white head and a nutty aroma. There is a clean malt flavor with moderate hop bitterness. A good session beer.
3.1 Bottle. A clear light amber color pour with a big frothy lasting head , some spotty lacong left , medium to high carbonation. Aroma is bready and nutty , hints at some of the familiar lager notes ,and faint fruity tones. Flavor is toasty , nutty , breadcrust , hints of fruit and butter , slightly grainy at the finish but not too bad , lightly sweet , light bitterness , quite balanced , medium body , smooth mouthfeel and an easy drinker so I would deem it sessionable all in all not too shabby .
2.0 12 oz. bottle thanks to my dad. Pours a pretty light yellow. Sort of a grainy light beer that doesn’t have a very impressive nose and has an even less impressive flavor. Needless to say, I was not impressed.
2.7 Bottle. Lightly hazy orange in color with a light foamy head that clings a little. Grainy, somewhat corny malt in the aroma. Flavor is clean, slightly caramelly malt and little else. This is an easy beer. I’ve certainly had much more interesting Oktoberfest beers before.
2.0 The aroma has malt and grassy hops along with a bit of metal and corn. The appearance is golden with a medium clumpy head. The taste is like the aroma with a clean finish. The palate is typical for the style. Overall I just didn’t enjoy this one.
3.0 On tap; very mild Oktoberfest style beer. Amber in color, but with the taste of a standard lager. I was expecting much more out of this beer.
3.4 Bottle from the Orland Park, IL, Binny’s Beverage Depot: This poured a bright golden orange body with a healthy white head and provided a bunch of slippery lace. The aroma was pretty sweet, grainy and worty. The flavor had the addition of a light toastiness and some grassy earthy bitterness to balance it out. Very drinkable.
3.0 Situation: Small things are getting done in the basement... Glassware: Samuel Smith lager... Appearance: Golden orange body; slow effervescence; nice white head remains consistent down the glass... Aroma: sharp, fresh malts--pleasant but undistinguishable from others... Palate: smooth, slightly effervescent body that produces little aftertaste--and little more of distinction... Taste: quite a pilsner in taste and texture.... the pitchiness of the malt is more like corn or biscuit... a bit sharper than expected... Overall: Bought in H-town to continue my quest to drink what I have not yet--especially in Oktoberfests--this one seems to strike an odd balance between a dirty pilsner and a crisp, fizzy (almost cheeselike) biting lager...neither of which is really what I was looking for...
