2.6Aroma : Medium roasted dark malts, hint of chocolate & some soft dark fruits, light dusty/earthy note. Taste : Bittersweet balance is o.k. however it's thin and watery, with a slight metallic twang. Pretty much bang average.
4.4Aroma: Medium-light roasty, plum
Appearance: Clear, dark brown body. Medium, light-brown body. Small bubbles. Good retention.
Flavour: Medium bitterness. Medium plum, dark cherry. Dry finish with roasty notes .
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation.
Overall: Clean, dark malt notes.
500 ml bottle, roused, poured .
3.6Bottle from Honest Brew. Dark brown body with a beige head. Lively carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of filter coffee, raisin and charred wood. Flavour of earth and cocoa. Medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. A simple, tasty beer.
2.7Enjoyed: Poured from a bottle into mug.
Appearance: Dark brown/black colour, rich head which soon fades.
Aroma: Metal, roasted malt, hay.
Palate: Light body, light carbonation.
Taste: Roasted malt, gentle caramel, diluted coffee.
Overall impression: Usual schwarzbier, I wouldn’t recognize it amongst other, but it is good enough, drinkable and tasty.
Note: My version had 4,7% ABV.
3.8500ml bottle in 2011. Super dark ruby with a dense offwhite head. Aroma of dark malts, fennel, brown bread, raisins and berries. There’s a fairly high amount of roastiness for a dunkel, with lots of dried fruit and chewy grain with caramel sweetness.
2.4Става, но не е нищо особено. Вероятно не бих повторил.
2.5Both dark and weak at the same time, like Keanu Reeves’ dramatic, pensive stares.
1.4Krombacher - a good name, but its beers have gone the way of USA crafties - too much hops. I tried this one, because it is "dark".
But, it isnt. No heavy character, as is with most German Dunkels. Dunkel, loosely translated, means "liquid bread". This isnt. It is as if they brewed a lager and added dark food coloring, that is how this tastes. There is no genuine malt presence. It is dark in your glass, but not in taste. The finish has no "bread".
Sorry Krommie, your hops and your beers are not needed. Go back to how you brewed beers 10 years ago and stop all this hops silliness.
3.2500 mL
Osrednje pivo, solidne arome karamele i cokolade, crne boje, dobre i postojane pjene..
Okusom dominira cokolada, blago vodenkasto, ali zamjerka je metalni aftertaste..
3.5Keg at OB's Brau Haus, 6.21.19. Black (in this lighting anyway), large tan head, fair retention. Aroma of raisin, molasses. Taste is raisin, earth, toast, molasses. Medium bodied, high carb, mild bitterness.
3.5Sweet malty dark beer , coffee aroma ,pretty good overall very nice enjoyable beer .
2.5Une bière qui désaltère mais qui n'est pas folle. En quelle sorte la guiness du pauvre
3.1Dark malt aroma, pours darkish with brownish head, strong but pleasant malty flavour. Bought from Sveta baar in Telliskivi Loomelinnak, Tallinn.
3.2Smells of good mellow dark malt, has a nice beige head with dark brown body. Flavour is a good mix of malt and molasses. Mouthfeel is full and right. It's a proper dark German beer, nothing too complex but very well constructed.
3.0Glass bottle 500ml, best before 07.01.2020. Bought from Drinkers Paradise in Kentish Town. Served fridge cold in a pint glass.
As expected for the style, pours very dark black. With a one a a half finger of rocky foamy mid brown head, Bakerloo line on London Underground map. Impossible to judge the level of carbonation as absolutely no light is bleeding through. The head is made up of small and medium bubbles. It dissipates fairly slowly revealing a few stream of micro bubbles in the centre of the glass. A little lacing is left.
The aroma is low on roasted malts, mild liquorice and mildly fruity. Prunes.
The taste is far bigger than the mild aroma would suggest without tipping onto the overwhelming side. Roasted malts are again low, with cereal and prune becoming more and more prominent as the beer warms. The liquorice is ever present. Mildly bitter, mildly sweet.
The carbonation is of a medium level with the palate dominated by the prune and liquorice. A strange aftertaste lingering for a short time. Others have described it as being metallic, but it’s not quite that for me.
Overall, nice drinkable, enjoyable but nothing that will last in the memory. If you see it and are thirsty pick it up. Otherwise don’t chase it.

Butelka 0,5 l.
4,7% ABV.
3.1$2 bottle from vintage. I could have sworn I already rated this, but none the less, lets git it on, bang a gong, get itttt onnnn.. Icy cold bottle from the garage. Big black shwartzie pour. Nice tan head, smells like many bottled beers that come from the old country. Nice smoother tasting dark beer, has manners, better than expected taste. I should have known better. They do black beers right over there, especially the mild ones. Easy going and friendly with goodly amounts of co2, thank you. Yes, I like this. Reminds a little of the old dark American lagers. Could do another or two if these.
2.6Boca 0,5L - kupljena u Kauflandu - prosječan schwarzbier, dosta suh, solidne pjene..
3.0Pivo u flaši.
Schwarz pržena aroma.
Schwarz prženi slad okus.
Tijelo je nešto gaziranije.
...i tako ...ocjena "čvrsta" trojka :)
3.0Aroma is with soft flowery and fruit notes. Taste is stronger than classical dark lagers, but it's good. drinkable.
3.0Bottle, 0.5l. Black pour, one finger soapy beige head. Short lasting, minimal lacing on the glass. Mild nose, slightly roasty with notes of caramel.
Thin body, medium to high carbonation. Prickly on the tongue, light texture. Bittersweet taste, slightly charred. Aroma of caramel, roasted malts and grains. Mild licorice. Subtle fruity notes in the background. Grainy aftertaste with some metallic notes. Short finish.
Overall, a bit bland and watered down. Drinkable.
2.9Pours dark brown to black with a large head. Aroma is metallic, some coffee. Taste of roast malts, coffee, dark fruits. Medium bitter aftertaste
2.9500ml bottle into pint glass. Pours a very very dark brown with a frothy tan-coloured head. Some lacing. Nose is lightly malty with a touch of caramel and dark fruit. Light body, zingy carbonation. Finish is more malt, chocolate, and dry cocoa. Nice schwarzbier, no world beater but pleasant enough.
2.7Smell - weak, but quite nonspecific, maybe chocolate or coffee.
Foam - quite carbonated at start, bit creamy, some bitter taste, short aftertaste.
Taste in general - quite weak, watery, some bitterness and sweetness.
/in general feels watered down, but not too bad.
3.4Bottle. Aroma is dark malts and liquorice. Taste is malty and bitter with hints of liquorice, rye bread, grape malt and metal. Bitter, malty and metalic aftertaste.
3.4Dark in color with tan head. aroma and taste are so-so. Smooth and sliky palate with litle carbonize. Fancy to look, Easy to drink.
I like it dark color.
3.6Wednesday, July 4, 2018. Bottle, 50cL. 4.3%. @Cave Saint Vincent, Flers (61), FR. A sparkling black beer with a medium beige foamy head ; medium retention ; ok lacing. Prune, roasted malt, toasty notes, chocolate, rustic cereal, licorice notes. Light to medium round sweet, light bitter ; dry refreshing. Medium good body, thin texture, average gaseous, sweet dried fruity finish. Overall, good !
2.8F: big, bit tanned, good retention.
C: dark, almost opaque.
A: dark malts, bit bready, fruity sour.
T: dark malts, fruity sourness, bit roasted tones, bit metallic, dry on the palate, too fruity for me, I expected more rich dark malts, light body and medium carbonation, 0,3l from tap @ Koutská piváreň in Bratislava, Slovakia.
