2.9 Draught sample at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2014. 4th Session. Pours brown to orange with a beige hea, aroma of toffee, caramel, flavor is slightly bitter with toffee, caramel, alcohol, medium bodied.
4.2 Tap sample at CBC 2014. Dark clear red-hued amber body, medium creamy off-white head, looking great. Nose is sweet deep caramel tones, vanilla, honey, mild burnt sugar notes and hints of muscovado sugar and red berries. Taste is sweet berry-like caramel tones, vanilla, burnt sugar and hints of honey and melon. Full body, medium carbonation. Quite sweet, but for a sweet (beer) tooth like me this is aaall right. :-)
2.6 [5/3/14] Draught sample at Copenhagen Beer Celebration. 4th session. Amber. Alcoholic aroma, candy-ish, with malt, caramel, marzipan and some fruits. Sickly sweet flavor, alcoholic, malty, caramelly and candy-ish. Really not my thing.
Stor men lagom sötma.
3.6 At CBC. Copper colour with beige lace. Malt and caramel aroma. Malt, caramel and vanilla taste. Medium body.
3.8 Sample at CBC 2014. Poured a crystal clear dark amber with a big frothy light tan head. The aroma is sweet treacle toffee. The flavour is medium to light sweet with a rich sweet resin hop alcohol bitter palate. Full bodied with soft carbonation.
Riktigt god.
3.8 Sample @ CBC. Pours clear red with a tan head. Aroma is caramel, fruity, cloves, honey and cloves. Taste is sweet berries, spicy and a hint of alcohol. Medium bodied and soft carbonation.
4.0 CBC 2014. Pours mahogany with a low white head. Aromas of caramel, honey, marinated berries, figs, apple. Taste is caramel, honey, marinated berries, figs and dates. Mouthfeel is oily and smooth with low carbonation. Aftertaste is caramel and honey.
3.7 Sample @ CBC 14. Pours a clear orange beer with a small white head on top. Aroma is very herbal, cinnamon, clove, fresh pepper and nuts. Flavor is very sweet, herbal, some booze and barrel characters. Very nice, long lasting sweet herbal finish. Very decent.
3.9 Pours cloudy burgundy with low off-white head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, candied fruit. Taste is big boozy sweet with sweet fruit balanced finish. Body is medium to thick and creamy.
3.7 Cbc 2014. Clear dark amber, medium tan head, great coating. Malty, caramel, toffee, nutty, alcohol, apples, grain. Has an alcoholic nose to it.
3.7 CBC 2014 Pours dark amber low off white head Aromas of red fruits, loads of honey, caramel, syrup, corn Taste has corn syrup, red fruits, loads of caramel
3.7 Ultra dark pour from bottle. Npt much head. Serious malts and booze Deep burn. Good but thick as all hell
3.8 Odense catch-up from the cellar. 2011. Dark red chestnut colour with a tiny off-white head. Fabulous rich malt aroma with dark bread, biscuit, dried fruit and vineous alcohol. Disappointlingly thin and watery fruity and malty flavour, with plenty of alcohol
3.6 Bottle from Bierkompass.de March 2013, vintage 2011. Dark amber with a minimal head. Aroma and taste of toffee, dried fruit, brown sugar, malt and alcohol. Full body with warming alcohol. A beer to sip.
2.1 disappointing. i saw triple bock and got excited- but wow. this was a mess .. . deep brown .. light foam .. . molasses and dusty soil .. . no mouth .. . pretty bad .. . . i never quite got the whole count to ten when you are angry thing, i’m mad now dammit!!!
3.1 12oz 2011 extra received from Lymph a while back in a pretty awesome trade!! Big props to Robert... Very generous guy. Pours a hazy mahogany... very little head and no real cap or lacing... Pours thick like a watered down Aunt Jemima... Should be much clearer and have some sort of head on it. Wow... This smells like a doppelbock on steroids. Boozy dark malt with rum soaked fruit.. plum and raisin... Incredibly rich. Flavor is very rich, but not on the same playing field as the nose.. a bit fruity like an English Old Ale.. dark sorta cherry/orange essence (odd, I know) along with a slight chocolate element not present in the aroma... EtOH and brown sugar on the finish... a little oxidation reminds me of tawny port. Flavor is thick and mildly syrupy... actually close to tawny port :-) but with some very minor carbonation. Pretty proper... HUGE, but proper. I truly appreciate it Robert... Thanks buddy.
3.0 A ruby body with a minimal tan head. Seemed watery and lacked carbonation. Aroma was a mix of fruity esters, some alcohol and mild caramel malts. Flavor seemed to be very tart and the alcohol was almost booze like. Not a good balance of flavors. A thin mouth feel and a boozy finish.
3.0 Bottle from Kuhnhenn. Poured hazy red brown with min creamy head. Light boozy caramel aroma. Med carb and bod. Super sweet taste.
2.2 12oz bottle, thanks to FlandersNed. Last bottle of a long bottle share at my house... Dark brown, red color. Mostly hazy. Thin, minimal off-white head. Minimal dots of lace. Lots of caramel malt in the nose, dark fruit. Bigger body. Smooth, sort of crisp lighter carbonation, more dry finish. Moderate bitter taste, especially for the ABV, a bit of a bite, some moderate to bigger sweetness, not very pleasant. Not very pleasant at all right now. Caramel malt and chocolate is a bit prominent right now, not very pleasant. Overall, just OK, and a bit tart. WTF? Not good. More I try, the more repulsive it gets. Lightly tart also. Not pleasant.
3.5 A reddish copper ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with treacle, plums, interesting. In mouth, a sweet fruity malt with dark fruits, molasses, alcohol warmth, very very smooth. On tap at Beer Authority.
3.5 Bottle at home, courtesy of Matt. Thanks Man! Pour is deep brown sugar with a frothy tan-colored head and good lacing. Cereal, corn flakes, dark fruits, caramel, big bready, somewhat spicy, earthy, grainy, and raisins in the aroma. Taste is big caramel, brown sugar, raisins, figs, dark fruits, somewhat tangy, bready, herbal, and toffee with a hint of alcohol on the backside - though not overbearing. Slick mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Decent doppelbock.
3.8 Bottle at Port Street Beer House; dark burgundy red pour with zero head, sweet and meaty aroma, very sweet taste like treacle, but surprisingly light mouthfeel, a real sipper.
Buen postre.
3.8 Dunkel mit leicht rotem schimmer. Kaum schaumkrone. Geringe kohlensäure. Malzbetont, karamellig, süsslich. Kaum herb.
4.4 Bottiglia 355ml ordinata su domus birrae e bevuta a casa. Ambrata scurissima con schiuma evanescente. Frutta matura e alcol al naso. In bocca tantissimo corpo, oleosa, carbonazione fine. Malatata, amara e complessa, sentori di frutta matura, finale eterno e pieno di sfumature. Un nettare.
3.4 12 ounce bottle. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of malt, caramel, and dark fruit. Taste is roasted malt, caramel, raisin, plum, cherries, and a bit of alcohol. Rich and warming. Good.
