Kuhnhenn The Fluffer

Kuhnhenn The Fluffer

This West Coast IPA was made to be a session IPA. It is very light gold in col-or with an intensely hopped nose. It has a high citrus hop flavor with a dry crisp aftertaste. If you like the DRIPA and want to last longer, try the Fluffer..

3.8 Tap @ Kuhnhenn: Pale straw-yellow in color. Almost like Mott’s apple juice with a mild haze. Small, foamy, bright white head fades quickly. Highly citric hop aroma, also with some very faint undertones of tropical fruits as well. Orange rind, peach, grapefruit peel, pineapple, & a hint of mango. Lots of pine, resin, moderate hemp oil, & a touch of floral notes in the periphery. The flavor showcases that raw hop abrasion even more. Heavy notes of pine sap, pine needles, resinous hop oils, & staunch florals make quick work of the palate. Nice level of bitterness. The back-end shows a brighter side once the initial hop bite fades; citrus peel, grass, grapefruit, peach. Wet & slightly weedy finish; crisp body, just a touch oily. Like a mini-DRIPA in a lot of ways. Really tasty stuff.
3.3 Super clear straw yellow with just a puddle of white haze on top. Average carbonation, thinner viscosity clean finish. Rich chestnuty malt aroma with a heap of florals. Lots of floral hops and nutty taste, very crisp flavor. Pretty good session. Similar to all day ipa.
3.5 On tap at the Cannibal, in NYC. Pours a clear golden colour with small white head. Aroma is citrus, some hops. Flavor is the same. Pretty enjoyable.
3.5 On tap at 2014 GTMW, pours a clear golden orange with a light white head, the aroma has some fruit and a little bit of hops and citrus coming through, flavor is hoppy at first with a citrus like front end, nice and sessionable.
3.8 On tap: The aroma consists of citrus, light lemon, grapefruit, and a hint of pine. It’s a transparent golden-orange with a small white head that leaves some thin webbing on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with moderate citrus with a touch of lemon. The finish has moderate grapefruit and some faint florals. It’s light bodied with light-moderate carbonation.
3.1 Draft at Kalamazoo Beer Exchange. Pours orange with a thin white head. Leaves a lot of white lacing. Nice floral notes on the nose. Solid grapefruit notes on the nose. Feels a bit thin on the tongue. It’s a clean finisher. Not as exciting as I’d hoped.
3.6 Clear golden pour, fresh hoppy aroma. Floral and citrus hops in the taste, very easy drinking.
3.7 On tap poured into a sampler. Aromas not too dissimilar to Pine-sol start this one off along acute notes of pepper and some citrus late. It pours a clear, pale honey gold color with a soft white head that reduces to a medium thin ring with a light dusty surface. It leaves a good amount of dense, small bubble lace. The taste is a medium bitter and medium sweet blend. The light bodied, thin textureded beer has a big, fuzzy and grainy carbonation. Flavors of lemon rind and spice come through on the dry qnd crisp finish. The aftertaste is grassy with citrus rind; it’s mellow, but it lingers. It’s slightly astringent, too. Overall, it makes for a very sessionable beer.
3.7 On tap at Barcade. Clean gold with fine head. Minimal webbing. Delicate nose, led with Lennon rind. Mild spice and ginger cookies. Light body. Taste is all up front. Mild bitterness. Good lemon presence. Easy drinking. Slight finish. Yum
3.7 Catching up ratings......... On tap at Detroit Airport. Pours a pale golden color with a small white head. Aroma of lots of tropical and citrus fruits mixed together. Taste had pineapple and mango, but I also gotsome bitter citrus taste of pineapple. Nice light body, low alcohol, but very good and tasty. I had a couple flights to try many beers and this one was one of the better ones I had on a long layover. I ordered a full glass after.
3.6 Draught. Bright yellow with creamy whitish small head, floral hops aroma, sweet hoppy taste, lavender like flavor, medium carbonation, longish finish. Very nicely balanced hoppiness.
3.7 Location: Draft at Morrison’s, 10/21/14 Aroma: It has a clean, hoppy aroma of lemon/citrus zest, spice, and some pale malts Appearance: It pours a clear gold color with a white head and some light lace Flavor: This one has a zesty and spicy hop flavor, with a sweet middle, and a mid-bitter finish Palate: It has a lively carbonation and a decent mouthfeel, with a somewhat dry finish Overall Impression: First off, that name rationale is borderline genius. Just great. Weill done there. I have to give them extra credit for that. As for the beer, it is a pretty nice Session IPA. It isn’t the best is the style I have tried, but it is pretty good. A little less carbonation would have significantly improve the drinkability, and the overall enjoyment of this beer.
2.6 Quite hoppy and dry acidy crips Julie is not a fan. She gives it a 1.5 for effort. And the tiny bit if wheat
4.2 Tap. Foamy pure white head, hazy light lemon gold. Lots of pineapple, citrus rind, melon and sherbet sweetness in the aroma. Flavor is less intense, but still really nice. Honeydew, citrus, slight pineapple meat and the earthiness that has. Very light soft body. Damn, sets the bar for me in the style.
3.9 Tap. Clear, dark straw yellow. Some lace. Very sweet hop nose--syrupy amd floral. Very hoppy, without being overly bitter. Sweet, floral and nice.
3.0 Draft - Sweet pale malts, slight acetone and tropical fruit. Clear gold with a decent white head. Sweet pale malts and citrus with a slight bubblegum and acetone note,
3.5 On tap at Fraser's. The pour is a light ambery gold, with a thin ring of white head and some pretty good lace. The aroma is big on pine and resin with a subtle floral hoppiness hidden well and gets more dominant the longer you inhale. The flavor is more dominated by the resin and pineyness, before a little funk from the west coast style pops in. The mouth feel is thin and watery, and the aftertaste doesn't hang around at all. This is the only aspect of this beer that isn't up to par
3.6 Aroma is sweet, floral, not as light as expected. Appearance is light, pale yellow with a white head. Taste is light, initial bitterness followed by piny hops. Mouthfeel is decent, expected for a session with decent carbonation. Overall, pretty good.
3.6 Tap at CBC 2014. Deep golden in the glass, small head. Hoppy aroma. Starts mild, fine fruity, spicy, notes of lemon and apricot. Well balanced finish. Nice!
3.6 Draft at Hopcat in Grand Rapids. Pours a light yellow color. Aroma and taste are oranges and some lemons.
3.1 Had on draft at the Ypsilanti Beer Festival. Really light flavors of citrus and mild hops. Somewhat dry finish and easy drinking. Although a session IPA, too light for my preference.
3.8 on tap on the premises. unclear pale yellow with a small white cap showing minimal retention and lacing. juicy mosaic-like complex hoppiness, west-coast weed, citrus, cattiness, bitter herbs, lean pale malts and cereals, lightly tingling pepper and pine. average carbonation - slightly prickly, light body - watery a tad, dry and crisp grassy-spicy-citrusy finish. excellent session ipa!
3.6 Keg at the Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2014, yellow session. Aroma is spicy citrus, lychee and some cara malts. Golden / yellow colour with a lasting white head. Flavour is spicy, citrus peel, mango hops. Solid bitterness slightly earthy. Palate is nice crisp , and dry finish. Lingering lemon citrus.
4.1 Nice light citrusy grapefruit. Light body great IPA moderate carbonation. Little dry finish. Little sweetness in the beginning. Very nice.
3.8 Light fruits and citrus flavors balanced with moderate citrus hops. Light lemony sweetness and grains in the finish. Very easy drinking brew.
3.2 tap@Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2014 - golden pour with white head. Citrus fresh fruity, sweet malty, grass, straw. Ok
3.9 4oz pour at Churchkey DC. Pours a clear gold with some fluffy, white head. Nose is nice and grassy, lemon, mild malt, yeast, a little lime, some tropical fruit. Flavor is the same, lemony, mild cracker, tropical fruit, pear, some lime, floral. Crisp, clean finish. Crushable.
