Kyritzer Mord und Totschlag 7.2%

Schwarzbier - keine Angst!

3.4 6/10/2018. Bottle courtesy of Boris, cheers! Pours mahogany brown with a large off-white to beige head. Aroma of chocolate, dark fruit, nut, malt, hop, light roasted notes and light spice. Medium sweetness with moderate bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture, soft carbonation.
3.6 Bottle, from City Hops. Pours clear dark brown with reddish tint against the light, large foamy beige head, yeasty caramel aroma, high carbonation, slightly sweet roasted malt taste with caramel undertones and a bit of sourness, smooth body, long finish. Very smooth and tasty.
3.4 500ml bottle. Pours dark brown colour. Moderate white head. Hints of smoke, spices, sweetness, malts, caramel in the aroma. Notes of caramel, malts, hints of smoke, light hints if spices in the taste. Notes of chocolate in the aftertaste. Rather medium bodied, quite well balanced beer. Alcochol well covered.
3.5 Burnt cork of bread, malt in aroma. Dark with small brown head. Burnt malt, malt bitterness, crust of bread. Light body, high carbonation.
4.0 En sort øl som ikke helt holder stilen. Den ristede smag er der ikke så meget, mere chokolade. Og de 7.2 gør også noget ved smagen. Men fedt navn!!
3.4 Pretty solid. In typical style, nothing spectacular but very drinkable. A nice dark that has a good balance, dry finish, a bit of smoke, a bit of fruit. Might try it again.
3.8 Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, light brown, mostly lasting. Body is dark brown to black. Aroma is moderately malty (roasted grain, molasses, unsweetened chocolate), lightly hoppy (herbs), with light notes of smoke, anise, minerals, prune, charcoal. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium to full body, velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Really cool aroma starts things off on the right foot, almost resembling a "hot rocks" Steinbier; smoky and stony notes accent the roasty malt well. Could use a bit more finishing bitterness to make it more drinkable, but it's plenty nice as-is. It's beers like this why I love Germany so much...Old World charm abounds with this; clean and offering aromas you will never get from any other country.
3.4 Pretty good schwarzbier, with a solid dark malt front backed up by deep toffee, mocha, and dried fig and date notes. Mild bitterness leads to a clean, roasty fade. Tons of chocolate and roasted malt on the nose. Smells better than it tastes, but still a good pint.
3.8 Ar: Semi-sweet toast; a light char; floral hoppiness. Ap: Deep amber-brown; almost opaque; medium-large mocha head with good retention, leaving a compact foam cap and true egg-white consistency along the glass sides in a chunky, scattered pattern. T: Tangy toasted malt; malt is clean; toffee and caramel; very light coffee; medium-high bitterness, very peppery hop flavor alongside; like candied malt throughout. P: Medium body with high carbonation; finish is medium-dry. O: A pleasure of a schwartzbier; deep malty backbone, very rich, accented with roast notes; quite bitter with a firmly clean fermentation profile; looks beautiful in the glass.
3.4 500ml bottle. Clear, dark mahogany colour with ruby glow and average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Slightly roasty, dark malty aroma, notes of treacle, pumpernickel, a touch of coffee. Taste is sweet-ish dark malty, slightly roasty, hints of cola, a touch of coffee, treacle, pumpernickel; a minimally metallic touch in the finish. Oily texture, minimally sticky palate.
3.5 Klares Braun, kein Schaum. Aroma: Malz, Kaffee. Geschmack: Malz, Kaffee, Karamell, leichter Hauch von Frucht.
4.7 Revision: this beer is just better than I originally thought. I just wish we could get this brewery in the USA again. This corana cooties think really sucks. Bottle. Deep, dark brown with a velvety smooth Tan head. Aroma is of chocolate and slightly boozy. Taste is a delightful flavour of chocolate and gentle roasted grains. Great beer.
3.8 Das kräftige SchokoStout unter den Blackies. Umfangreich aromatisch, untypisch, gut 👌!!! 0,5l Geschenk von Herzberg Ralph.
3.4 Bottle bought in Bad Saarow - finally got this! - clear dark brown color, beige head. taste is strong dark malts, coffee, cocoa powder. bit sweet. full body, slightly boozy, dry finish. great schwarzbier. +0.1 for the label and the story behind.
4.4 Aroma’s dark malt toasty and roasty with a hint of anise. Flavor is mostly like knows but loses the anise and Gains Cocoa, is very smooth and balanced and super easy drinking a perfect schwarzbier. Great body and finish.
4.1 Glass tasted at booth Kyritz City at Hanze Days Kampen. Unexpected pleasure. Bit sweet, little bitterness, alcohol well tasted. Not a glass to empty in 5 minutes but to enjoy every sip in time.caramel, bread, alcohol, bubblegum, licorice,
3.4 Clear brown color with frothy beige head. Aroma has toasted malts, bread crust and some burnt sugar. Taste is sweet at first with crunchy bread crust notes but gets more bitter with earthy hop notes and toasted malt. Medium to light body and medium carbonation. Overall it’s quite good and easy to drink for its ABV.
4.2 500 ml. no bottling date apparent. Schwarz pour with a lasting film of creamy bubbles. Aroma is dark bread, cocoa and earthy molasses with small supporting roles from apple and dried grass. Flavors of whole grain bread, molasses, toasted nut, apple and a bit of mild roasted coffee and cacao nib. Medium bodied with a low-medium carbonation and a delicate balance that somehow manages to end slightly dry. The 7.2% abv is undetectable.
3.0 Pour is a black with a small white head. Aroma is a bland lager malt with some wet paper bag. Flavor is kind of the same. Some licorice and treacle but not enough to take this one to the next level. I’m sure in Germany this taste a lot better but as it is right now it is just a bland lager with some dark malt notes.
2.9 Butelka 0,5l. Aromat suszonych owoców, wiśnie, ciemne pieczywo. Ładny. W smaku pusto, delikatna nuta ciemnego pieczywa.
3.7 Bottle in trade with Erzengel many thx for this top 50 beer ;) cons 2017-03-18 Göteborg AR: roasted malt, wee soft smoke, brown sugar, soya AP: dark amber, frothy fizzy wee bubbly foam F: fizzy, caramel fudge, roasted malt, dry mouthfeeling, bakers chocolate dust - very nice to be a Schwarzbier;)
3.7 *Great intense roasted fruity beginning. Cherries, roasted malts. Deep with a quite dry roasted body. Not too much alcohol here, round and refreshing with a great bitter and fruity body. Roast and chocolate in the aftertaste, nice stuff!
3.6 Pours dark brown with fluffy beige head. Aroma is raisin, dried apricot, some sourness, light grass, caramel, some biscuit, fruits. Taste is fruity, roast, coffee, dried apricot, pomelo, caramel, toffee, roast, rye cookies, some milk chocolate, light spices. Nice beer!
3.3 Bottiglia.
4.0 Aroma is roasted malts and dark bread/earthiness. The flavor is dark/roasted malts caramel, earthy and a mildly bitter finish.
4.4 Many thanks for this beer to kevnic2008. Piekna kremowa spora piana, srednio trwala, kolor ciemno brazowy, z bordowymi refleksami. Zapach swiezo upieczonego domowego piernika z rodzynkami, smak rodzynki w czekoladzie, trufle, toffi i lukrecja. Wszystko wykonczone subtelna rozgrzewajaca dawka alkoholu.
3.6 Bottle, consumed within the confines of my living room. Pours basically black with a big tan head & a little lacing on the glass. The aroma is clean & malty with some light toffee and mild roast. It’s lightly fruity & lightly sweet... Rich & inviting. The flavor is herbal & lightly bitter... It’s got a nice roastiness all around and a touch of mild toffee... although it’s largely on the drier side.
