3.5 dark golden to orange colour, medium sized yellowish head; aroma and taste of floral honey, some fruitiness and slight spicy-peppery notes; just like a glass of honey
3.2 11.2 oz bottle. Bottle over foamed over. Initial full creamy foam caramel. No head. Almost sweet brown sugar finish ---Rated via Beer Buddy
Discreta.
3.1 Ambar anaranajado. Dos dedos de espuma. Olor dulzoncillo. Sabor diferente, muy marcado sabor a naranja, y bizcocho... Final amargo. Cansa un poco, pero no esta mal.
3.4 Old rating. Amber colored. Caramel, spice, light sour, some maltiness. Not bad at all.
4.1 33cl bottle from LCBO in Greektown, Toronto, ON. 7% alc.vol. Pours a clear reddish, deep amber colour with a small lasting film-like head. Traditional Belgian Ale aroma with a whiff of caramel and banana. Taste matches the aroma with a crisp beginning and a clean hoppy finish. I was expecting worse based on the ratebeer numbers. This strong ale is arguably as good as any other big name golden ale. (Duvel, Delirium, etc.)
3.7 Bottle in gift pack from the LCBO. Pours true copper colour, fluffy white head that recedes to some clumps and a sheet of foam, loads of lacing. Nose is sweet caramel malt, a touch of spice. Tastes sweet, a little bitterness that lingers for a bit, caramel is very present. Probably my favourite of the three in the gift pack.
3.1 bottle. Poured clear deep amber with a thin creamy beige head. Aroma is sweet and fruity with yeast. Medium body, prickly carbonation. Flavour of caramel malt, fruity, sour cherry with a peppery note. Sticky finish.
3.8 Cloudy burnt copper red colour with a frothy head. banana- bread/yeasty aroma with some caramel malts and esters. Shows a hint of caramelized something. Sticky palate with those esters and caramel coming through with a sort of berry pie finish that I find pleasant. Decent stuff and sort of interesting.
3.3 Pours clear amber with a big, frothy, off-white head. The aroma contains malt, caramel, fruits, spices and yeast. It tastes medium to heavy sweet and only light spicy bitter; sweetish and spicy finish. Medium body, oily, bit sticky, texture, fizzy carbonation. Just a tad unrefined. (Edited 26/7/17)
3.6 BOTTLE 33CL. Look: clear amber brandy-like, off white biggish creamy head with good retention. Aroma: sweet and sour fruit, berries, spicy yeast, malt/grains, sweet/honey, some alcohol as it warms up. Taste: smooth creamy mouth feel, berries, pleasant spicy phenolics. The finish is a bit too sirupy and hollow. Nice beer otherwise.
2.8 One of the more recent additions to the Boucanier brand, with a very thick, massively rocky, dense and yellowish head, colour a misty but pure amber (so not actually red or copper, contrary to its name - already a little disappointed now). Sweetish aroma with a lot of DMS (red cabbage) apart from orange, caramel, honey, candied cherries, rhum, vanilla and leafy hops. Taste begins sweet with some citrussy freshness, then becoming mellow malty, caramelly and a bit nutty, finish smooth and lightly bitter but more so from insufficiently masked alcohol than hops, also some sticky sweetness.
3.5 Bottle 33cl. Klub malých pivovarů. Clear yellow orange color. Caramel and orange aroma.
2.8 330ml bottle into a pint glass. Pours a nearly clear medium red with a solid one finger white head. Really good head retention but lacing really isn’t anything to speak of. Aroma really has a lot going on. Tangerine mixed with what is almost a cola or chocolate note. A bit of spicy Belgian yeast is thrown in there too. The taste is less impressive. Sweet right off the bat and a very strong tootsie roll/cherry coke flavor that is just odd. I really think it might be oxidation. Light orange/tangerine is in the background but it is buried under the chocolate. Extremely sweet throughout that borders on cloying with a sticky finish. Overall, this beer is a mess. I’m not sure of the age but oxidation seems to have hit it. Some weird flavors going on and just way too sweet.
3.1 Backlog. Bottle 33cl. Some sweetbread and oranges with dried fruits and citrus.
3.1 Bottle, shared with Parksy. Light amber, very hazy. Orange peel, marzipan, lightly tart finish. Much preferred over the blonde, but still only ok.
3.6 Pours an hazy orange, white head. Sweet aroma of malts and citrus. Taste is sweet bread, citrus and a bit of alcohol. Not bad at all.
3.0 Bottled 330ml. -from www.beershop.hr. Slight cloudy orange/golden coloured, medium sized off-white head, fruity orange (jaffa cakes) nose. Sweet malty, yeasty and biscuity orange (peel) taste with notes of spices and touch of alcohol. Bit too fruity for me.
3.5 bottle pours clear, very light amber smells sweet, bit grains taste sweet, grainy, but medicinal
3.2 Poured light reddish amber with a frothy off white head, well laced. Aroma of sweet citrus, light zest. Medium body, flavour is moderate candy sweet, dark, dry fruit. dark chocolate. Lingering zesty sweet finish.
3.6 Deep gold colour, thick white head. Aroma very sweet, with caramel and chocolate, you can feel an alcohol. Flavor resonates with aroma, also sweet, like a piece of chocolate with some liqueur. Tasty, balanced beer, very specific one. If you taste this beer, you would like to eat some candy :)
3.1 Golden color with a thick white head. Aroma is malty, fruity and sweet, hints of alcohol. Flavor is like aroma with some bitterness. Medium body and carboantion, sweet finish.
2.3 Dark crimson red, white head. Looks promising. Aroma is just oddly overly sweet. Brown sugar, brandyish, syrup. Taste is very similar, overly sweet. Sweetest beer I’ve ever had. Just doesn’t work for me. Syrup!
3.7 Bottiglia 33cl. Gusto molto dolce: miele, arancia, fragola e caramello. Buona birra a costo ridotto.
